Discussion Consecutive seasons with a current or future 600+ goal scorer

I was thinking about how fortunate the Penguins have been having long-time players on their rosters with 600+ goals; excluding the strike season, the Penguins are at 42 consecutive seasons!

Starting in 1984 with Lemieux and then Jagr 1997-1999 (when Lemieux retired the first time) and then Lemieux again and then Crosby taking over in 2006.

Best I can tell, the longest streaks:

42- PIT 1984-2026 (mostly Lemieux, Jagr and Crosby)
29- DET 1946-1974 (Howe and Dionne)
25- WSH 2001-2026 (Jagr and Ovechkin)
22- DET 1983-2005 (mostly Yzerman, Shanahan and Brett Hull)
21- LAK 1975-1995 (mostly Dionne and Gretzky)
16- CGY 1996-2012 (Iginla)
16- TBL 2008-2023 (Stamkos)

Stamkos TBL should be 2008-2024

The years are (or should be) all based on the year the season started. PIT and WSH are 2026 because Crosby and Ovechkin have already contributed to the 2026-2027 seasons.

I hope the twins get at least 1 season with crosby.  if they can match the production of the sedins, by combining to score 600, keeping this streak alive.

What’s the point of this when jagr never got or played with 600 goals on the penguins.

I believe the argument is that in order to be a 600+ goal scorer, you have to be consistently good, so no matter where they scored 600, to be graced with a superstar (or 3 in OPs data, every year) is impressive.

A better argument against instead of snark would be for the old heads in early 2000s and while we had the "moose" to look fondly on, Kasparatis tearing it up harder than y2k hysteria, but it was rough even with mario (for example who was leading goal scorer in goals (ryan malone) or points (dick tarnstrom) in 2003-2004? where mario played 10 games).

All in all. Its not that wrong, it could absolutley be argued that there was a consistent flame of hope in our darkest times and thats okay. 1984-2026

Essentially just where 600+ goal players played, not where they happened to score #600 (or just players who scored 600+ with a particular team).

I just thought it was interesting that the Penguins had such a long continuous streak of having at least one of these 22 players on their roster.
