Help Full screen used to work, now it doesn't :c
Hi everyone! I don't know why, but both games, Peggle deluxe and Nights, aren't working correctly on full screen, when they used to. When I open the games, this happens.
I hope someone can help me, I don't know if I accidentally changed something on the configuration or click on a button, idk. Thanks in advance!

i haven’t found a fix. a software update broke full screen older games a while ago and microsoft still hasn’t fixed it. i’ve tried doing stuff with compatibility settings, different resolutions, 3d acceleration you name it. i think we’re just at the mercy of microsoft and have to wait for it to be fixed.

It's a refresh rate incompatibility problem, lowering the refresh rate to 60hz or less usually solves it.

Set your monitor resolution to 800x600 in windows before opening the game. It's annoying, but it should work.

I fixed this by forcing it to run in windowed mode and then using the magpie full screen tool to force it to full screen. I use this for a lot of games, especially ones that don't support borderless windowed. I recommend looking into it.

I use Lossless Scaling. It's $4 on Steam. Not only does it make anything you want full screen, it looks absolutely gorgeous. Old games look better than they were ever intended.

I just spam the fullscreen toggle and confirm settings repeatedly, do a relaunch, and repeat until it finally works. It’s annoying but if you’re persistent it’ll work.

You can use a worse monitor or lower the refresh rate to 60hz on your current one. I hope it helps.

You'll be just fine if you install borderless gaming or if you install lossless scaling and just turn off all the settings for frame generation.
Or you can lookup some launch settings as well that you can plug in via steam

Apparently is a Windows/Microsoft issue? I'd recommend Linux + Proton, i see no issues over here.
I wouldn't recommend switching your WHOLE OS out just to play Peggle in fullscreen though.

Try a lower refresh rate. Same happens in my PC, blinks in the 144hz and works perfectly on 60hz.

i don't know much about how to fix it on windows, but try turning on 3d acceleration, and maybe putting "resolution 1920 1080" in launch parameters?(instead of 1920 1080 put whatever resolution you need) // i hope someone with more experience will help here, but i'd try this myself
