community-driven decompilation projects out here doing absolute miracles while official corporate publishers take half a decade just to acknowledge a PC port exists
Yeah I don't understand why they'd release the Uncharted remasters on PS5 yet can't release the ND collection for current gen and PC. All when they bought Bluepoint to do remasters. They deserve every bit of all the seafarers making sure the seven seas are filled with their games
They wanted to port games to encourage people to buy a Playstation to play the sequel.
But they ported games too late, charged too much, and the quality was too lacking, so they didn't sell the buckets they expected and there was never a jump in PS5 sales.
It was never really about making money on PC, that was just a bonus, it was about expanding the PS5 install base.
I don’t think that’s why, they were probably really hoping to be successful on PC. In reality I think they looked at Xbox floundering and realized the value of keeping games truly exclusive, not just console exclusive, otherwise there’s not much incentive to buy your console
People keep saying “there’s only 7 PS5 exclusives” well yeah, they ported so many to PC
Yeah I get that part, but my thought process was always they port the first game in the series, then make the sequels console-exclusive to hook people. This was due to the current CEO I think. But I also remember a previous CEO who was all in on PC
Sony is indeed delusional. They can get screwed. I'm waiting for FPKG and my PS5 will just be an emulation machine to replace my CFW PS3
First off, I have a 14700k with a 4080, and a PS5. You're a clown if you think an AI approximation of the game is gonna play even close to the worst port you've ever played in your life. It's booty, absolute cheeks.

These arent approximations from my understanding, a lot of these ports are the actual machine code that was written for the console thats been fully decompiled and repackaged. There's no actual difference between these and the real games aside from the better performance and the hardware it's playing on.
Im not like an AI advocate or anything but it is impressive how good it is at doing precisely these tasks because they can check and verify as it parses the 1's and 0's of the machine code, much more effectively than the guesses us humans have to do for the same outcome.
At this point there is no such thing as a console exclusive.
Have you heard of them hmm mental health programs wherever you are? I'd sell your hardware and pay to get better if I were you, you are way too invested in this shit brother

I've been so eager for an eventual Steam release. Odd to only have 4 on PC, but not 1-3. I played them back in the day on PS3, but would've happily paid full price for the remastered trilogy on PC.
This feels like the Napster/Limewire revolution of the early 2000s where technology makes a massive leap that an entire industry isn’t prepared for.
Decompiling games is basically burning CDs in the sense that it completely circumvents the market. Why pay for a game/album if someone can decompile/burn it and put it on Github/Napster?
It also means game companies are gonna jump on this as soon as they can find a way to make money from it. Hell, Xbox is already hopping on the wagon.
These games deserved an official port. Sony is foolish to miss on the revenue. Now it's gonna be free.
For reference, I completed the original trilogy on PS3 and then on PS4 again when remasters came out, but I don't want to be tied to a console if I decide to replay one of my favorite action adventure series.
I was on Xbox as a kid so I did the same when I switched to PS4. Played this, then played the God of War games through PS Now (which was garbage but I had no other choice lol)
To be fair, if this game were officiallyported on PC it’d hit a 120 fps target on a 2080 or lesser hardware. You’re running a 5070. The PS4 pro’s GPU was equivalent to a 1060. People may hate on vibe coding, but the only thing that restricted emulation was the time it took for someone to figure it out on their own, with whatever free time they had, for free.
That's huge. Without emulation where we at with emulators of ps 5 especially would've been 5 years from now, if even people could bother - time is not something everybody's willing to sink into unpaid work
Why the hell would I be mad? The only reason I'm not a PC gamer at the moment are the ridiculous prices. Anything to keep playstation on their toes and, hopefully, returning with some consumer friendly policies.

Id honestly prefer a less powerful(GPU) similarly price of that can take advantage of DLSS and have greater performance at the same time personally.
Right? This changes nothing for me because I unfortunately cannot afford to build a pc anyway so being mad because pc gamers can emulate ps games just doesn't matter to me. I'm more mad at ai data centers preventing me from affording a gaming pc than pc gamers getting shit for free.
I’ve been primarily a PS5 gamer for the past 5 years and I’m ecstatic that all this emulation and decompilation work is progressing! Can’t wait for a handheld running on some snapdragon chip to be able to play PS4 and 5 games in a couple of years
A lot of them have a weird elitist mindset of "my choice of beep boop box is better because it can do something yours can't".
Like for real there's people out there that were legit mad when Sony released some games on PC.. And right now there's Sony fanboys gloating (I gues(?)) that "broke PC gamers" can't play Wolverine... That's how messed up they are
Literally all platform users have weirdo’s in it and you’re exaclty one of them for thinking ‘you’re different’ and ‘it’s pc’s fault’, literally same exact bs happens at sony nintendo or whatever, I been in all platforms too and no pc isn’t innocenet neither is xbox, this is life my friend
I wish that were true. I was a PlayStation user most of my life and my god the amount of people I saw unironically upset when PS exclusives came to PC was insanity.
They cheered when exclusives stopped coming to Steam.
I mean if they come to PC then they aren't Xbox exclusives. That's not a bad thing, ideally every game would be available to anyone who wants to play it, but if it isn't released exclusively for one piece of hardware than it's not, you know, exclusive.
I don't understand the mindset here. In terms of console play, if you can only play it on an Xbox console, it is exclusive - console exclusive. It coming to PC just expands it to a bigger market and increases the chances that the game does well.
The whole point of exclusives is to incentivize console purchasing. That incentive is done by requiring buying into proprietary hardware. If it's on PC then it isn't exclusive to that console and doesn't lock off the portion of the market that hasn't paid the buy-in fee from playing it.
Bro stop trying to make consoles vs PC a thing in 2026. We're all in this together. If anything, I'm happy that people, even you, can experience Uncharted and other games on your PC :)
I mean emulation ps3 emulation in particular has been around for a long time now and has made massive gains in recent times. This doesn't exactly change things drastically on the pc side. Now if new games start getting decomp'd and recomp'd day one? That could be a problem I guess. Console makers make the games to move hardware really and if too many people decide to just play recomps on pc?
Could be bad for everyone really. Maybe means less games if they don't find it worthwhile to make them anymore and some really gnarly anti consumer stuff built into every game try combat this type stuff. Constant online connection every 19 seconds or the game deletes itself type shit. Maybe they just go full on streaming and say fuck it.
Im hoping it doesn't go there but it's a be careful what you wish for sort if situation.
Games being available on PC is excellent for both preservation and not being as tethered to the will of a corporation. Especially one as shit as Sony. From a personal viewpoint, it’s the only way I’d ever even touch these games myself.
Acting like it’s an epic own over other gamers is still massively pathetic loser shit, though.
Pc only gamers obsession with Playstation has been evident for a while now. Everyone is used to it. But you shouldnt steal. It makes you a parasite on the industry. If everyone stole, all games would fail, and we'd have no great games to play.
I buying a game isn’t owning, than copying it isn’t stealing.
But I completely agree, people should refrain from it generally. But i cannot agree with you when it comes to exclusives. This isn’t traditional pirating, this is providing access.
There is no option to buy on pc. And exclusives are bad and a monopolistic practice. Economically this discourages monopolistic behavior
Record profits still didn't save the studios or workers in the historic layoffs of this year. No extra money would save them, or help delivery better games. Be so fr
What an odd thing to say; for one, the game is 19 years old, who gives a shit ? People who truly think you will be playing newer Sony games on a mass scale on PC are delusional.
You literally have to be stupid to think you will Play newer unreleased Sony games on PC without major issues making it pointless; unless it becomes as simple as clicking one button to play with no issues (it won’t), most people aren’t going to fuck around with drivers, bugs, etc. to play a 20-year-old game they played when they were 12.
You can download it from a site called BlueRoms, although you'll need a torrent manager. If you're not a fan of torrents, you can always look around for other sources online. Just be careful, as not every ROM site is trustworthy.
Once you've downloaded the game, you'll likely need a PKG extractor. I recommend PS4 PKG Tool:
I have a RTX 5070, and a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, 32GB DDR5 RAM. But if the Bloodborne and God of War port are anything to go by, other systems should play this no problem.
I used to get under 60FPS in this area on RPCS3 with the non remastered version.
It seems you haven’t had to deal with terrible performance on early emulators. Pcsx2 was running games at 1-5 fps in first few years. This is night and day difference for something so new (vibe coded machine translation ) . I would rather play my old ps3 games on pc rather than take out my dusty ps3 from the closet. And I’m happy to let my ps5 pro collect dust. I have no loyalty to a single corporation.
im not on his side, but there are certainly other games to play. with how many games exist it would be kind of sad to even play this game in a not perfect state
As much as I'm enjoying this boom of decomps and emulation progress, I can't help but feel like the hammer is about to come crashing down on everything.
We got a taste of it when people were too loud and proud about pirating and playing Tears of the Kingdom before release. Nintendo nuked the popular Switch emulators and nowadays the Switch emulation scene is fragmented and progressing much slower, one project can't stick out too much or they'll also be struck down.
With GTAVI on the horizon, people are doing the same thing but on a larger scale. I think it's right to free the game from it's exclusivity prison and fuck over Rockstar, but they will not be taking that sitting down. Even if the cat is out of the bag and GTAVI is playable on PC day one, the legal consequences and going to swing in hard and stifle a lot more progress moving forward.
I just fear this golden age of preservation and availability is going to end before it reaches it's highest potential due to people being a bit too happy to tell Rockstar "fuck off" publicly. I hope I'm wrong, but that's the fear I can't shake.
When that game came out it was really amazing. Seeing the way you can climb and move about things as different things are happening like a movie was really new at the time. Idk how old you are but seeing the game as it was when it came out is really cool because it was incredible for the time. It would be totally cool to play thru it then get to the others another way.
Oh yeah wow. See when it came out it blew my mind all the animations in the character movement and little things that happened as you were playing. I remember at that time we could emulate PS1 games and now we have a PS5 emulator like wtf
you think they changed the release date for PC GTA6 because they kept seeing these PS4/5 games running better with an emulator on PC than they do natively on PS5?
YAh, Sony is taking it personally for sure; that 19-year-old game, which whoever cared to play has already played, is now playable on PC with issues. They is truly an F U to Sony.
Between all the recomp/decomp native pc ports of console locked games and DLSS 5 Neural rendering its a really amazing time to be a PC gamer glad I bought my 5060ti 16gb at $430 dollars it goes for $800 now.
Can someone explain to me how this won’t end with the consolidation of future titles behind streaming platforms and the outlawed use of compilers and open source?
Hold on with your BS comments, mate. A lot of people who play mainly on PC definitely had a PlayStation console and played a lot of these games. For most it's about being able to access it on the platform of choice, not experiencing it for the first time. I can play Uncharted on my PS5 right now, but I know my PS5 is not gonna be there forever, and this is where this fan port comes in handy.
The common sense is all these decomps are just running emulators taken from open source code, and doing nothing special or new. And people are acting like they got previously unrunnable things running on PC. I gaurentee OP couldn't explain how it's working in the slightest
I think that in fact, this is actually the opposite of that lmao
AI was getting so much traction because OpenAI promissed lower costs and bigger earnings for companies. They were the ones pushing AI to replace workers
And now that they're the ones being replaced, what? Lmao. What's Adobe going to do to prevent going bankrupt, when all their tools are now free and open source? Their whole business is over. Not now, or tomorrow, but they have the days counted
And Sony is also paying the price. I think it's poetic, how people are now using the tools that were made to replace us to destroy them
And it's fucking hilarious, too lmao wait a couple of months of this, and we'll probably have all these companies against AI and fighting Sam Altman in court
