Question How to combine gaming pc setup with MacBook productivity setup

Looking for ideas/inspiration. I took a break from gaming and took down my setup (lian li 011 vision compact PC and LG 32 OLED monitor, superstrike mouse, wooting v2 keeb) and replaced it with a productivity set up (MacBook Pro, studio display xdr, old glorious keyboard, Magic Trackpad)

I'm wondering if it's possible to combine the setups into one desk without it looking insane. I tried once before and it was just... too much. I'm picky when it comes to display I guess, I wasn't happy with the way the LG worked with my Mac so I coughed up the funds for the Studio Display and it works perfectly ofc. So I'm happy with both set ups the way they are but now the task is trying to combine them into one, clean looking setup. That is, wanting to hook back up my PC to game.

Any inspiration or advice would be nice.

So my needs are a bit different from yours but I do use a full gaming PC for personal use and a macbook for work.

My macbook is mounted under my desk and is connected to 2 hubs that connect to 2 displays and ethernet. I then use a wireless mouse and keyboard for the mac. There's also a graphics tablet I use at times too, also wireless.

For my desktop, it's rack mounted and connects to all 3 of my monitors.

When I'm using both, I turn on the mouse and keyboard to pull my mac out of sleep and start work, then power my PC which runs on the 3rd screen. When I'm done I put my mac to sleep and put away the wireless peripherals and my desktop resumes using all 3 displays.

It could be cleaner but not having to dick about switching peripherals between systems is my preferred method.

thanks for the practical advice, now I need some aesthetic advice to make it look as cohesive as possible, especially having 2 different sized monitors and 2 pairs of peripherals - I'm not sure if it's possible but I trust the ppl of this sub to have some ideas!

Good luck with it. The only aesthetic recommendation I'd make is mounting the mac under the desk, it's literally the best option because it's so out of sight.

Beyond that I'm sure others here who are more aesthetically inclined would have ideas for the rest of it.
