The first lines of their announcement are “Programming is hard. So, instead of doing that, we vibe coded a new Epic Games Launcher that’s way faster and more responsive than the current one, and has a new look.”
Like Jesus Christ. Billion dollar company, constant lay offs, less than optimized engine like 2/3 the industry relies on and they open up with “Programming is hard LOL.” Fuck offffffff.
This was likely written by Tim himself, the arrogant little prick. He's exactly the type to stick to stubborn tech bro nonsense everybody is annoyed by and doesn't want to hear, without caring what anybody else thinks.
What's bad is that he admits this is a 'lightweight' version of the launcher bare of features, so it'll probably just slow down more again once they start adding more features. And more features is what it actually needs, not better performance. It's ridiculous how barebones the normal launcher still feels.
