Oh cool, maybe it'll be easier to use it to grab their free games and for literally nothing else.

I haven't done that in a very long time. 95 percent of what's given out for free is not worth anyone's time

That's not really fair. They usually only giveaway games that are at least decent, they're just not pushing out shovelware trash by any means. And they've given away tons that are outright good or even very good.

I hate to do the whole 'I'm no fan of Epic' shit, but it's true. And it's silly to ignore that their giveaways have been nice and worthwhile to follow. Just in the past couple weeks they've given away System Shock 2 Remastered(the new Nightdive one) and High on Life.

I claim their free games more out of habit than anything else. As far as I'm concerned they're a demo-only store. If there's a game I was wanting to try, and I get it on my Epic account for free, then I try it there and if it's worth the money, I buy it on Steam and delete it off Epic.

They have a SERIOUS uphill struggle to defeat that consumer behaviour. Just giving away free stuff isn't enough.

You are better than me. I get the game then forget that I even have it after a day or two.

Oh, I forget them all too. But if something comes up in the Steam sale, I often look at my Epic list and see if I've already got it. Yep. That's how little I use Epic or care about the free games they give me through it!

Quite a few times I've done that, played 10 minutes of it, thought "That was actually okay" and I then immediately go buy that game on Steam so I can actually "have" that game and play it through.

I guess it'll be faster if you use the launcher (SPEED). But then again, why would you? Website works fine.

Up until like 2 years ago they were doing free games that were on a headcratching "are they even making money doing this?" Type of level. I have death stranding, all the bioshocks, all the borderlands games, battlefront 2, world war z, killing floor 2, all the amnesia games including the bunker, and a bunch of others I cant remember off the top of my head, and some I skipped bc I already had them on steam. Now its mostly cheap indie games bc im assuming they realised we only had the launcher for the ridiculous games they would toss out for free and thats it. Why get any of their on sale games when every 3 months that game is gonna be like 80% off on steam?

I don’t even bother checking the free games anymore

Fair enough, but you've probably missed out on a load of good ones. It's worth keeping up with, unless you're the type who scoffs at any indie game you haven't heard of before as if that makes them bad.
