You can use PowerToys from the Microsoft store just permanently remap the key to a different function.

I just buy mechanical keyboards - so the whole key switch can be removed, and then my keyboard has a pirate smile. Which makes me laugh, so I don't actually fix it.

Remapping would be prettier, but sometimes, I just wanna be a pirate, ya know?

I did that to my bluetooth keyboards fullscreen button because it turns off my raspberry pi 4 every time its pressed.

Never understood why but occasional the pi freezes and pressing that button auto shuts it down.

The large defense company I work for doesn’t let us download PowerShell so I just have a dead key on my keyboard where I used to use it for actual functions

For me its win + c which SUCKS because I mostly use a mac which is the shortcut for copy and paste, then it takes 5 seconds to load before trying to get me login to some BS and quit it. No more windows for me, cachy has been great.

What I don't understand, I assume MS first trial runned Copilot and would get user data live back. I imagine even in this trial, the usage was pretty limited if not non-existent and still they went forward.

It tells you right away the state of mine of MS (and with it all tech/companies) leadership these days, they aren't looking at what their staff does, they are afraid of missing out on the hype train.

There was a report from GS a couple months ago that looked into companies using AI, (iirc) 97% failed entirely by their objectives, the remaining 3% didn't mention they failed, but neither mentioned it was a success.

Now I'm not saying there is no place for AI, as someone who uses it pretty much daily there there are certain conveniences to it and truth be told as someone who uses chatgpt, it has come a long way. But most people don't use it. That doesn't mean certain operations can be done by AI or things can't be done better with AI, but the place for AI is far smaller than especially AI fanatics like Musk want us to believe.

Those keys are only on PC's specifically Designed for Copilot, and are part of the Copilot+ systems....

I've been recently looking for a laptop for non-gaming use to replace an old one, and I have yet to find a single one with 16GB+ RAM that isn't Copilot+. I'd pay a premium to avoid it at this point, but there's just no option to other than getting one that doesn't have enough RAM to qualify.
