Him having "how much you need to shut up" be the X-axis and "how sick your fan game is going to be" on the Y-axis just seems wrong. Independent variable (game sickness) on the X-axis, dependent variable (shut up levels) on the Y-axis.
That would imply that the more sick your fangame is, the more you are going to shut up about it. We'd have to identify the mechanism of shutting up, whereas I'd argue that normal psychology suggests that the more sick your fangame is, the more likely you are to want to tell people about it.
The more plausible causal relationship is that the more you shut up about your fangame, the more sick it's going to become, ie because it gives you more time to work on it.
