News/Article The PS5 system itself is running on pc

Recently, we have seen massive developments in PS5 emulators (such as shadPS4 and Kyty), and how rapidly they have progressed in a short period.

Now, developers have successfully booted the actual PS5 system software on PC.

If this momentum continues in the future, it will eventually allow players to run PS5 exclusives directly on PC, marking the end of the era of console exclusivity.

The ps5 is just a pc with an amd x86 chip with an integrated gpu. Not much different from a steam deck. In fact all consoles are nowadays.

I mean...the BC-250 mining board is a binned PS5 with some cores disabled and compute units cut almost in half and 16gb of RAM.

It's easy as hell to unlock everything and it's fully compatible with Steam OS. I have no problem running some 5-6 year old AAA games at 4k and it runs most new games at 1080 mid/high at 60fps.

Stands to reason that you could go the opposite way with it.
