News/Article The PS5 system itself is running on pc

Recently, we have seen massive developments in PS5 emulators (such as shadPS4 and Kyty), and how rapidly they have progressed in a short period.

Now, developers have successfully booted the actual PS5 system software on PC.

If this momentum continues in the future, it will eventually allow players to run PS5 exclusives directly on PC, marking the end of the era of console exclusivity.

Oh is the way this becomes wide spread for emulating any ps5 game that people “obtain the game files” aka pirates them?

Won't even need to pirate, thats the beauty of it dropping on GitHub and becoming open source. You dont need to pirate current games you emulate, they're all widely available on Google. You may need a little technical know-how currently but in the near future could be as simple as emulating a ps2 game is now. You download the emulator and you download the rom/iso. Plug and play baby.

Just so you’re aware, downloading a rom without having purchased a license for the game previous is pirating.

I’m confused. If I wanted to emulate ghost of yotei for example, you’re saying I wouldn’t need to pirate to obtain the game files even though the game costs money?

It's perfectly legal for you to rip the files from a version you paid for and then to run those files in an emulator. But yes, a lot of people will pirate the files to use with the emulator.

You can't say things like "it's perfectly legal", that's irresponsible. People live in different countries that have different laws.
