News/Article The PS5 system itself is running on pc

Recently, we have seen massive developments in PS5 emulators (such as shadPS4 and Kyty), and how rapidly they have progressed in a short period.

Now, developers have successfully booted the actual PS5 system software on PC.

If this momentum continues in the future, it will eventually allow players to run PS5 exclusives directly on PC, marking the end of the era of console exclusivity.

Most coders I know continue to have their jobs, but their jobs are more AI caretakers. It's exactly what happened to me as a Copywriter. I'm now just a slop babysitter.

Me too. My boss keeps nagging me to use Claude Code and I do but he asks for insane things that are impossible to do for one person, like rewriting our whole codebase in two weeks.

I have some bad news….rewriting your entire code base in two weeks is actually possible now.

Then you need to git gud. I was recently doing a full rewrite of our CRM that took years to build in 1 week with Opus 5.5. and not just vibe coding. I created all the specs, defined all the test cases and generated the designs and then the agents just run day and night until everything was implemented.

My point was that it is really difficult for someone that just joined the company to understand and internalize 100k+ lines of code and then rewrite all of it without any agentic help or proper, previous documentation. Could you do the same without Opus 5.5 in the same timeframe?

Just use opus, use branches, use unit tests and pay attention to regressions. You'd be done in a day. Pre-AI coding is a relic of bad times.

Yes, for now.

And I must say that I hate this so much, it takes away all the fun and creativity.

Yup. It took my job from mostly doing the fun parts to only doing the parts that I am good at, but begrudgingly did before.

It makes me want to go part time and go learn wood working or something.

That actually sounds kinda horrible. I barely read and even i know that A.I. style of writing is a stomach churner. Having to deal with the slop (and make it less sloppy?) On a daily basis as a job sounds...not so fun

I say this as someone who wants to get back into graphic design 😅
