Watch Ross' video first, he talked about it. It's not as much of a win for publishers as it seems.

The main victory is that Publishers can't really hide behind a nebulous "this game may or may not be available forever"

Meaning that games will at the very least have a contractually obligated end of service date.

Which is a huge win because now players can (hopefully) know what they are buying.

Something else worth noting is that we can keep the momentum going by transitioning to electing representatives that will pass legislation. (I'm not in the EU but the concept applies to any democracy). Wars are not won over a single battle, they are long and drawn out conflicts. This was simply the first of many battles and we need to treat the outcome as the first stage of many stages yet to come.

Let’s be honest, the End of Service date will be shoved into the rest of the ToS that people scroll through without reading.

If it’s some ridiculous bullshit policy you will read about it on Reddit and other media though because it will definitely stir up a shitstorm.
