But piracy won’t make the game work if it needs to connect to an online server/service that is no longer active.

No, but it may get the point across.

Not gonna spend money on a game I know for sure will eventually be unplayable.

I’d say it’s safe to assume that every single online game will eventually become unplayable at some point in the future.

Hell, I’d say this about any game because I have a suspicion that Windows 28 isn’t going to work well with a game developed around Windows 10. There will eventually be straight up compatibility issues
