Live Text [DND 2024][(A)synchronous][GMT+3] Want to play & possibly Co-Dm a PBP campaign living world-sque.
I love play-by-post, but I've struggled to find a setup that keeps me engaged long-term. Pure async tends to lose momentum, especially when scenes drag on for days waiting for replies. On the other hand, waking up to 20k messages because of different activity time zones is its own kind of nightmare.
I'm looking for something in between: a small, story-driven living world that combines scheduled live-text sessions with asynchronous roleplay and downtime. I'd love to join as a player and would also be open to co-DMing.
I've experienced a system similar to this before. I played for about two months in a PBP campaign where we had almost daily live-text sessions lasting a few hours. Most of the group was active around GMT+8, meaning sessions often started at 5 AM for me, and I still showed up regularly, as i work from home & can manage most schedules, and also because the format didn't need all players to be present to work, I'm looking for something similar again.
Here's what worked for me and what I'd like to find:
1. A relatively small group (8–12 players)
Large enough that there's usually someone around to play with, but small enough to maintain a sense of community and direction. Whoever is available can participate in an activity without the entire group needing to be present. This gives us some of the flexibility of a living world without the chaos and fragmentation that often come with large West Marches servers.
2. Start small and let the world grow naturally
Think of how an RPG video game begins in a small village or encampment with a dozen or two NPCs, a clear starting situation, and an immediate reason to get involved.
We don't need a massive lore document, dozens of locations, or a fully developed setting before the campaign even starts. We need a place to call home, a current storyline, and enough worldbuilding to get things moving.
One of my biggest issues with West Marches servers is launching into a server with 50 text channels, countless locations, and activities everywhere before the community has even had a chance to establish itself. That creates noise rather than meaningful choices.
Let the world expand as the players shape it. New locations, services, factions, and activities should emerge as the community grows and develops its interests.
3. Make the players part of the world, not just its adventurers
Let players become the crafters, builders, healers, merchants, and other people who keep the community running. Let us rely on one another instead of treating NPCs as the default solution to every need.
NPCs can absolutely have their own skills and roles, but their presence should serve the world and its narrative, not simply fill out a checklist of services an adventuring party is supposed to have access to.
I want a community where the players have a tangible impact on how it develops, where relationships matter, and where the things we build together become part of the campaign.
4. Let the playerbase grow organically as the story progresses
We started with around 12 players, and about 4 left during the first week. That's normal for PBP, where people's schedules, interests, and availability can change quickly. The system should account for that instead of expecting the initial playerbase to remain stable forever.
New players should be able to join at suitable points in the story, replenishing the playerbase whenever there's room or a need for fresh blood. Think of it as introducing new players to fill roles or open up activities that would otherwise require adding more NPCs.
In our case, when new players arrived, the existing players effectively became the NPCs of their introduction. We welcomed them, showed them the ropes, offered them small quests of our own, and sometimes invited them to join quests we were already pursuing.
I loved that approach. It made the world feel like an actual community that people could arrive in, become part of, and contribute to, rather than a server where new players are simply handed a character sheet and left to figure everything out themselves.
5. Live-text sessions for quests and combat, async for everything else
Quests and combat should happen primarily, if not exclusively, during scheduled live-text sessions. We agree on a window of a few hours, play for that period, and stop when the window ends, whether the quest is finished or not. We pick it up next time.
This avoids two problems I've repeatedly encountered with pure async:
- Everyone waits hours for replies, momentum dies, and the scene loses its appeal.
- The active players keep moving, and anyone who was unavailable returns to find themselves at least two scenes behind.
Everyone participating in a live event gets a chance to contribute without having to be online 24/7.
Outside those sessions, async works perfectly well for downtime, crafting, personal projects, one-on-one RP with NPCs, private scenes between players, and other activities that don't require everyone to be present.
6. Co-DMs to share the workload
With 8–12 players, keeping everything running can become a lot for one DM. In my previous campaign, we had a couple of players nominated as co-DMs to help manage the workload.
Depending on what the main DM is comfortable delegating, co-DMs could roleplay certain NPCs, run smaller quests or combat encounters, and help manage other activities within agreed boundaries.
I'd be happy to take on that role if needed. The goal is to keep things active without placing the entire burden on one person.
7. Flexible participation without disconnecting quests from the world
With a larger group than a traditional D&D party, we have the flexibility to run activities whenever enough players are available. Not everyone needs to attend every quest, and nobody should have to put their life on hold to avoid missing out.
However, players who aren't available shouldn't feel as though the world simply moves on without them. Depending on the situation, they could join later, arrive as backup, contribute to the ongoing objective in another way, or participate in related activities.
The important part is that quests should exist within the living world, not as isolated instances that make everyone else irrelevant until they end.
8. A living world needs direction and progression, not just a sandbox
I don't want a completely open sandbox where nothing happens unless players initiate it. There should be events unfolding in the background, clear narrative directions to pursue, and meaningful progression.
For example, in my previous campaign, our first arc took around two weeks. Afterwards, we had a downtime time skip during which we developed the settlement we'd helped make safe. We built up shops, relationships, walls, and an outpost. The world changed because of what we'd accomplished, and we had something tangible to show for it.
That's the kind of progression I'm looking for: a story that develops alongside the community, with the freedom to pursue personal goals without losing the larger narrative.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've been looking for something like this for a long time, and neither extreme has really worked for me.
Pure async often loses momentum. You end up waiting indefinitely for replies, losing track of the scene, and sometimes finding that people's interests or plans have changed during the downtime. Meanwhile, very large West Marches servers can become so focused on combat and running individual quests that the story itself feels like an excuse to get everyone fighting the next big bad.
I understand why this happens. It's difficult to maintain a coherent, meaningful narrative for a large number of players with different schedules and interests. But a story that exists solely to give players a reason to fight the BBEG isn't quite what I'm looking for.
I want the best of both formats: the flexibility and community of a living world, the momentum of live sessions, the freedom of async roleplay, and a narrative that gives our actions lasting meaning.
If you're building something along these lines, have it already going, or interested in putting a group together, I'd love to be involved, either as a player or as a co-DM.

Discussion Interest Check - Anima: Beyond Fantasy, set in a Wuxia/Xianxia style world
Morning gamers, happy Thursday!
I recently started looking at the Anima: Beyond Fanatsy system, and I feel like it would be fun to do an east asian inspired martial arts game with the system. It would need a few tweaks, and I understand it isnt expressly built for Play-by-Post.
But hey - better than homebrewing 5e to fit, amirite? 🤣
So, if anyone has had any experience with Anima or would like to just chat about it, I'd love to know. I have a few ideas in mind but I'm not quite ready to host a game just yet. Consider this a recon post of sorts to see if this is a winner or a stinker.
Anima is a d100 roll high system (which I believe is called a "Rollmaster" style game?) that can get some pretty silly numbers. It is rather crunchy and has some resource management, and is a system that really rewards power gaming and exploiting the system. But it also has GM tools to balance the experience for less "broken" characters.

Discord [LFG][BESM 4E / Anime 5E][EST] Welcome to Tears of Radiance: A Homebrewed JRPG-Inspired Heroic Campaign!
Howdy, hi, and hello potential new friends! You can call me Shinobi! I am a 31-year old individual looking to wrangle some players together for a play-by-post campaign set in a fully homebrewed setting I’ve been working on for quite some time! Tears of Radiance is a work of personal passion, and the culmination of a lifelong obsession with JRPGs and classic shonen/seinen anime. It's meant to evoke all the best story and emotional beats of those genres that I so dearly love, meaning this is your chance to be part of a party of unique, powerful characters navigating a magical world full of emotionally-charged roleplay (and the occasional silly side plot), exciting combat, and highly personalized backstories that will be integrated into the main plot!
The Setting:
Almost a full century after a devastating continental war, the continent of Graldyr sits in the middle of a full blown magical industrial revolution, powered by Marrow, a powerful liquid given to humanity by the gods that flows beneath the earth and fuels all life and magic. A marrow fueled technology, known as magi-circuits created by the legendary Dr. Anselm Redgrove changed the world almost overnight, providing access to nearly limitless clean energy to the masses. Soldiers carry this magi-circuit gear into battle, spirits drift between their realm, The Mercurial Gardens, and ours, and terrifying creatures called Wyrms devour Marrow ravenously. Holding a fragile peace together with both hands is the Sabers Guild, an international order of adventurers and peacekeepers granted the ability to cross any border when called to help.
Graldyr is a continent dominated by seven nations, each with its own culture and complicated history: the democratic powerhouse that is the Republic of Cordia, the honor-bound and rapidly modernizing Shogunate of Amagane, the northern snow-swept oligarchy of Vestaya where a potential civil war looms, the merchant Sultanate of Samarqand, the ancient Empire of Tianshu, the church-led diarchy of Valatheia, and the free port of Kalay, founded by a winged king who is also one of the gods’ immortal Heavenly Children.
Magic in Graldyr comes in three primary expressions: The Path of Ignition stemming from the raw power of the soul, tech-focused magi-circuit experts etching them into weapons and armor, and Synthesis forging pacts known as Noble Accords with the disparate spirits of the world. Beneath it all, the impossibly advanced machines of a vanished civilization known as the Clovis still hum with life beneath the continent’s feet…
The Game:
In this roleplay-heavy campaign you will all be playing as newly accepted Sabers, fresh-faced adventures ready for your first real contracts. Every character should be built with a unique, impactful power and a backstory intended to be woven into the narrative itself in mind. The options for this are endless, and I am more than happy to work personally with each of you to create a character you truly love both mechanically and in roleplay!
The System:
For this particular game we’ll be using either BESM 4E or the Anime 5E conversion made by the same developers. Both of these systems are designed around freedom of expression, allowing you to use character points to build exactly the sort of power-set you want to use. Once the players are all settled and we get introduced we’ll be voting on which one specifically to use together in session zero. Prior experience with either isn’t really required, and I love helping out with character building so I’ll be there for you every step of the way!
What I’m looking for:
At the end of the day this is a game, and setting, built around heroism and characters who aspire to such an ideal. Flawed, conflicted, or morally gray heroes are very welcome, but heroes they still must be. Your character should be one who ultimately wishes to do good, and who maintains a reason to not only remain in the party, but to work alongside them as well. Disagreements and heated roleplay is never a bad thing, and can lead to some amazing character moments, but PVP and strictly evil PCs likely won’t work for this game.
I also want to be upfront and mention that this is a strictly LGBTQ+, POC, and disability friendly game, for both players and characters.
Bigotry at my table is not tolerated, at all, and will result in being kicked immediately. Additionally, I would prefer players do NOT knowingly make use of AI at my table, for art and especially writing.
Why Should You Apply?!:
You’ll probably enjoy this game if you’re a big fan of JRPGs and shonen anime like me! Even if you’re not and want to dip your toes in them, you could be a good fit too! If you love:
- Detailed RP with a focus on interpersonal relationships
- Themes of found family and heroism / what it means to be a hero
- Heated rivalries
- Lofty emotional moments
- Over the top combat
- A willingness to share the spotlight so everyone gets to feel equally important
Then please send in an application! I’m looking for players who enjoy delving deep into their characters and building relationships with other PCs and NPCs alike. As this is a homebrew setting, curiosity and enthusiasm will go a long way!
Boring Ol’ Logistics:
- 18+ Applicants only please!
- My Timezone: EST
- Platform: Discord with dice-rolling bot, potential for tupper if players would like to make use of it.
- I will be running on a 24 to 48 hour window (agreed upon later) per ‘turn’. If your place in combat or a roleplay scene comes up and I haven’t heard from you in that time, we’ll skip ahead for now so that momentum is maintained to some degree, and your character can slot back in whenever you’ve returned. If you give me advance notice that you’ll be away, we can easily work on it together. Reliability matters more to me than consistently long posts!
- I may occasionally ping people to remind them, but don’t feel pressured to reply ASAP after a poke.
- There IS a full lore document for the setting with over 100 pages written by me, but I would never expect anyone to read all of it to be a player in my game. But it’s there for people like me who really like to obsess over their PCs lol. I’ll also be providing a more abridged campaign primer version to help with onboarding. But feel free to ask me a million or more questions so I can help you find a concept that fits the world.
FINALLY I’M DONE TALKING!
If you’re still with me, congrats! Please fill out the following questionnaire, as it is the only thing I’ll be accepting as an application!

PAY [PF1E/DND 2014/5.5/Other][(A)synchronous][ERP][Solo or Group!] Taboo Tastes: Can't find a consistent game? Too Kinky for most listings? I may be the DM for you! NSFW
Hello Reddit! I am SaucySally, and I'm hoping to entice some of you with the sexiest game imaginable: one that's reliable with a communicative DM! I'm posting this on an alt, as I'd like to keep my normal account separate from my naughty activities. Below is some info on what I am offering you!
FAQ from other posts I've made:
Q) How much is the game?
A) It starts at $50 a week and goes up from there, at a rate of 1 discord-character limit post per day. Check the Google Form for more information!
Q) What about combat?
A) Combat would be split up into multiple posts per day to keep things moving, to add up to ~your daily posting rate.
Q) What about a group?
A) The cost of posts for the whole group would be discussed and amortized across it, and for individual scenes, you would have your own personal post-rate.
What you're paying for:
- A literate adult with communication skills
I personally know the frustration that comes from being ghosted in a game you believe is going well, dealing with sub-par writing partners who cannot use a thesaurus, or people who are incapable of taking criticism on their writing and/or DM style. I'm no stranger to talking with problem players, adjusting my games to help a player struggling with enjoyment, and a menagerie of other scenarios. I'm not perfect, but I will work with you!
- A DM not afraid of running the Dungeons and the Dragons
Many games posted to Reddit trend towards rules-lite or 5e, and while I am not opposed to liberal use of the rule of cool and hand-waiving like Gandalf, I certainly prefer running games on the crunchy side. Pathfinder 1e is my personal system of choice, and I am very 3rd-party/Gestalt/Mythic madness positive. Of course, that is a lot of work, and so my prices reflect that. I have DM'd on hundred plus player WM servers to niche home-games inspired by anime with power-levels ranging from 3.5e Deities and Demigods to street-level supers for over 10 years. So I'm sure we can find something that fits your needs!
- A GM not turned off by maligned tastes
It's no secret that several kinks are outright shunned, oftentimes an auto-inclusion on various limit lists. While I will not claim to be limitless,Necrophelia, Scat, Watersports, Gore, Snuff, and other content that tends to make others uncomfortable is just a Monday for me. I have done these for repressed friends in private RPs, and while my writing is always evolving, you can be confident that you will not be judged or turned away for your more extreme kinks.
- An arbiter skilled in improv
If you like going off the rails, being self-driven, or otherwise following your own path when playing DND, then we are likely a good match! While I am more than willing to run a more established setting, AU storylines, and other such things, my talents squarely lie in adapting to player's whims. And in PBP this skill is put on full display, as I will have time in-between posts to refine ideas before putting them in front of you.
- A human who works from home with no health or mental complications
This isn't a knock to people struggling, and I hope everyone is able to get the help and care that they deserve. That said, it's the rule of thumb that IRL comes first, and many people in the DND space struggle quite a bit with day-to-day life. I am someone with none of these issues, and who has a stable home-situation to work with. That means rare cancellations and no worries about me falling off of the map due to a health scare.
What's the catch?
- It's a paid game, and it's not cheap
This will be the biggest turn off for most people, and I fully understand! I aim to work with people as life gets the best of us all, and I'd rather not leave someone out to dry or breaking kneecaps like a loan shark if they miss a payment. Most of the expense is in the fact that I am offering nigh unconditional wish-fulfillment, and I am not dependent on needing this to succeed. So I have to make sure that if I am investing large amounts of effort into this that it is worth both your time and my own.
- You're paying for smut, not Critical Role
I in no way plan to deliver a sub-par experience, and if interest is high, I intend to reinvest some part of what I make back into improving the games I run; However, I am certainly not God's Gift to NSFW-DND. I tend to roll with the punches, and am a very 'Cheering for my Player's' style DM. I am not afraid to throw a strong challenge and also help you strategize on how to take down your foes, and I am willing to cater to very extreme kinks - but those expecting live-play level quality need not apply. On the flip side, posts are daily rather than a set x-hour session every 1-2 weeks, and so you can constantly progress your character's story in-between IRL commitments.
- I'm not unemployed*
That's a bit of a stretch, but I do have other work that I do throughout the day. As mentioned earlier I do work from home, as well as expected chores around my mother's house alongside my daily duties and exercise - and so I will be doing my best to not overload myself with players. Not everyone will get a spot, priority will go towards people on the more extreme-end of the spectrum and people who are compatible with my DMing style. I intend to use these funds to support my creative work (Re:Gamedev), and so at times that will have my primary focus. I will have a wait-list for those not initially selected though!
- Not everyone likes improv
To preface, I do take notes and ensure I have high-level scenarios and ideas based on who I am running for. But, by and large, I like to let the story play out as organically as possible - which is oftentimes at the cost of a grand, epic narrative. That's not to say such moments cannot form from our collaborative storytelling, however, it is not the style that I am confident in. On the flip-side, I voraciously consume media, particularly anime, manga, and light-novels, alongside tons of research on writing for my game and media analysis video-essays; and so I oftentimes take inspirations from novelists and screenwriters far greater than I. Some stories and tropes are classic for a reason, and I liberally steal like an artist.
- I'm Human
This one is hopefully self-evident, but given that I am requesting schmeckles for make-believe I believe it is pertinent that I address it. DND is a very social hobby, and many people already have reservations about 'paying for friends' - however I have a very different view on such things. For example, our family hairdresser is one of our closest friends, we've met her children and my mother often would get her food while she was busy on her shift. We've done business with her for over two decades and counting, and we always pay full-price for her work. We are paying for her skill as a cosmetologist, not for the years of friendship outside of her job.
In that same vein, you would not be paying me to be your friend, and assuming that we form a cordial and reciprocal relationship, I do not see why we could not become and remain friends even after the conclusion of your character's story. That is not to say this is expected, but I understand the human-element of the game, and I don't wish to be overly corporate about this.
All's that's to say is that we're all people, we all make mistakes, and I treat others how I wish to be treated. So please afford me some grace!
OK, I'm interested, how do I apply?
If you made it through all of that and are still interested, firstly, kudos. You can apply at the Google form here: https://forms.gle/kWQULwGFFCZ4ihm19
I will be doing my best to get back to people within 1-3 days, which may be faster/slower depending on how many people reply. I hope to hear from you, and have a wonderful day!

PAY Vaesen | Seasons of Mystery | Async | Paid | Discord | LGBTQA+ Friendly
Hi everyone<3
I am starting up a Vaesen PbP on Discord.
You have the Sight and can see the many things that lurk in the dark. Now you must help track down the creatures that want to hurt humanity.
You and your fellow Thursday Children must band together to track down and disperse the many things that lurk in the dark. Each season has its own mystery and malevolent creature. You need to use your wits and supernatural abilities to defend humanity against them.
We will go back in time to 1850s Scandinavia. But not our Scandinavia. This is a place where the Myths are real, and the old ways clash with humanity's desire for expansion and the Industrial Revolution.
The cities might be beacons of light and enlightenment, but out there, in the countryside and the dark forests, the people know. They know what's out there, and they know to fear it.
🎃 This is a HORROR game, and unpleasant themes will come up.
✨ I, as the GM will post 1-3 posts a day depending on player engagement.
✨ Players should be able to commit to posting once a day to keep the story moving and engagement up☺️
This is a paid game, and costs $10 a week.

Discord Duskmourn: Valgavoth's Harrowing [2014 5e] [Async]
Years ago a lonely, sad girl doomed her entire plane of Duskmourn to become a twisted planar predator after falling into the clutches of a demon known as Valgavoth. The House, the central location of Duskmourn, now reaches into other planes as it pleases, dragging poor innocent souls into itself to torment them for Valgavoth's entertainment.
But in such a bleak, dark place there is hope. People who have managed to live within the house, aptly called survivors have managed to make life there bearable, some even manage to escape back to their home planes. Will your group count among these fortunate few or will the house consume you as another sacrifice?
Hi, my name is Sasha and im going to be running a little pbp that takes place in the Duskmourn plane from Magic: the Gathering. All i ask is that you are over 18, willing to make friends with others at the table, and can post pretty regularly or at least check in so we know you havent dropped the game
The starting level will be 5th level, you get one free feat and common or uncommon magic item, and I allow official content, UA, and homebrew(within reason)
I DO NOT allow generative AI use or ANY kind in my games

Discord Missing a great rp group? I found one! (regency, romance, 21plus)
I don't know about you, but finding a good group rp is a marathon.
I almost gave up on it, after mistreatment from admins, and so much favoritism.
What's the point of group rp, if everyone is focused on their own stories, and you are hardly able to make new friends and start scenes?
Feeling like an outcast is a feeling i don't wish on anyone.
Thankfully an old rp partner decided to give the group rp a go. After we discussed so much of what doesn't really work, and how to make this one different, she created a very striking community, that deserves a vouch.
I'm not saying it's perfect for everyone, but the goal to make group rp just that, a happy collab community of fun.
I know so many are fans of fantasy but there a genuinely few communities on history. Feeling like you step into a world of early 19th century, your character is set on personal missions to find a good match before the end of the season, make friends, keep their own secrets intact, and try not to stir too many people the wrong way.
When you aren't rping in just 1-1 you realize the power of having a whole community being affected by your character's choices. Talk about sandbox!
Oh, it's 21plus, advance literate, third person.
If you want me to chat your ear off about what sucks in group rps, or you want further info on this server, send a DM!

Closed [D&D 5e 2014][GMT][18+] Out of the Abyss
(Closed. Thanks for everyone who responded. I will be contacting the people who seem the most suitable on Discord very soon.)
The Underdark, the World-Beneath. It's one of the last places you'd ever want to find yourself trapped in. But here you are: hungry, cold, and unarmed, with pursuers on your trail. You must find a way out!
Hello, any would-be adventurers! I'm looking for 3 to 5 players for yet another game of 5th edition Dungeons & Dragons, this time for a thrilling adventure in the Underdark based on the official 5th edition campaign module Out of the Abyss.
I'm looking for players who are:
- Over 18 years of age.
- Able to play together respectfully with others. Everyone should feel welcome at my table.
- Capable of writing coherent English sentences and sticking to the defined writing format (third person, present tense).
- Decently active. Ideally, you should be able to check the game at least once per day.
The age limit is there because the game can contain certain mature themes, even if only "behind the scenes". This game will not contain ERP.
The game will be set in the Forgotten Realms (Surprise!), slightly tweaked to my own tastes. We will be sticking to the original 5th edition ruleset, as that is the version of the game that I'm used to running. I hold to my inherent right as the DM to add to and modify these rules a bit. Nothing too drastic (I'd rather just play another system than try to beat this one into a completely different shape).
I will also be limiting the numerous sourcebooks that have been released since I stopped playing, meaning that we will stick mostly to the earlier half of the books. I can, however, be persuaded to take a look at individual spells and other features from the later books. If you derive a large portion of your excitement from creating the most exotic character combinations possible, then you are likely to be disappointed.
The game will be played over Discord with the help of the Avrae bot (I'm trying to relearn its use).
If I've managed to catch your interest, then please take your time to fill out this form: https://forms.gle/jWsyioDJmushbHrNA (It shouldn't be too bad)
I most likely have forgot to mention something in this post, so feel free to ask any questions you have.

Closed Dungeons Of Drakkenheim [5e 2014]-[Discord][Async][New Players Welcome]
Fifteen years ago, a meteor shower of falling stars and an eldritch storm obliterated the capital city of Drakkenheim. The city is now a ruined, radioactive-style urban wasteland filled with a magical, toxic fog known as "The Haze". The impact also left behind glowing, otherworldly crystals called delirium. These delirium crystals are a source of immense magical power, wealth, and crafting potential, but exposure causes severe mental corruption, madness, and monstrous physical mutations. The surrounding areas now stands in a balancing act of rival factions looking to extend their influence and power over the precious lost city.
You have come to the city for your own reasons. Perhaps it is riches. fame. or fortune. Or an unfulfilled prophecy, a long lost heir.
----
This campaign is Async - It is expected that during downtime you will be roleplaying with no structure or assigned posting order. This will be removed for combat when it happens and initiative is formed.
This campaign has dark themes and adult content. 18+ only.
----
What we will use:
Discord with Avrae / Tupperbox
D&D Beyond for Character Sheets (Can use another if needed)
Roll20 for maps and tokens.
----
Note:
This campaign will contain 3 homebrew playable races -
- Mousefolk
- Gnolls
- Ratfolk
This campaign includes a unique subclass for each class.
(Based upon the addition to the module)
----
Some table rules:
- Rolling Hit Die: When recovering HP during a short rest, you may take the average(Half) or roll. If you choose to roll and roll a 1 or a 2 on your die you may reroll but you must keep the second roll.
- Giving advantage: You can give a player advantage on a skill check by helping them only if you are proficient with that skill.
- Non-lethal damage: MUST be announced "before" you hit.
- Crunchy Critical Hits: When you crit, instead of rolling the damage twice, the second die will be maxed out.
- Death Saves: Rolls will be whispered to the DM to create a need for urgency from your party members.
- Coup de Grace: Conditions such as Paralyzed, Unconscious, or Sleeping that grant automatic critical hits against humanoid creatures allow you to deal one final blow that kills the target. When you make an attack that qualifies as an automatic critical hit, roll a regular Attack roll. If you hit the target's AC minus Dexterity modifier, the creature takes damage equal to its current HP and is dying. If you do not hit, the creature instead takes damage equal to half its current HP.
---
How to apply:
https://forms.gle/Q3i8KAQq22oQhChR7
----
Edit 1:
I have 19 applications so far. This is still open. Feel free to apply. Will go over them later tonight and tomorrow.
Edit 2:
Slowly going over the applications this morning. I have 30+ to go through and I am narrowing it down. I am going to close recruitment for now! Thank you all for applying!

Discord "Realm-level" DND Campaign - Long Form, Discord, Asynch
Hi all,
A few months ago I posted about a Realm level DND campaign - it's been running since then. I'm looking for five or so people to top up the numbers though. Ideally looking for people who would value getting their teeth stuck into a story and some patience in growing an empire from scratch (Mount and Blade enjoyers???)
We primarily handle any RP through Discord, but we have a custom website that helps with any of the stat based things that happen when Realms get a bit bigger (helps to keep everything manageable!).
I've included the original post here: https://www.reddit.com/r/pbp/comments/1vee9ed/realmlevel_dnd_campaign_long_form_discord_asynch/
If interested, please fill out the form here and I'll get in touch: https://forms.gle/bW2RJt7zpr6t4Lek7
Any questions please feel free to DM me or ask here.
Thanks!

Group looking for GM [FMM4A][LFG][Cyperpunk Red][PbP] Looking for a GM/Referee and 1-2 additional players for a (lewd) scifi adventure in Night City! NSFW Spoiler
Night City.
A city made of neon and chrome, soaked in blood. Towering megabuildings loom over rain-slick streets, holographic advertisements promise salvation through consumption, and the roar of engines mingles with distant gunfire beneath a sky choked with smog. Gangs claim the streets. Corporations own the skyline. And everyone else fights for the scraps in their shadows. Here, lives are cheap enough that nobody bothers to look twice when someone doesn't get back up, and street kids throw away life and limb, chroming themselves out and trying to earn their status as legends.
---
Hello, we are a group of 3 players, (FMM) seeking a GM and 1 or 2 more players to play a game using the Cyberpunk RED system — Heads up this is an existing group of players/characters salvaged from a previous game that died to inactivity on the GM's part who is a very busy doctorate student.
The game will be Play by Post via discord. Currently all of us are in NA time zones, though we can make it work if a GM or player is a few hours off. The three of us are all reliable posters and good RPers and we're looking for a few like minded individuals to flesh out the group! Plot specifics are up to the GM but the general vibe is a rag tag group of street level mercs looking for vice, violence and victory! We are looking for a mix of story and smut, as well as a healthy balance of combat and roleplay. We are a fairly active group, usually able to post at least once a day sometimes more and are wanting GM/Players who can roughly match that. Though obviously this varies depending on day to day life; we only ask that people communicate if/when they are going to be unavailable. Include the password 'hi cyberslut' in your message so I know you read everything!
Below is a description of each of the 3 existing Player Characters, as well as a list of kinks we're interested in, and some limits of course!
Player 1:
Vex has the body of a high end joytoy: bodysculpting and aesthetic implants and upgrades to an absurd degree. However she wants to build her own life as a solo, and in combat reveals that she has some chrome for fighting as well. Quite a bit of it, in fact. Despite her expensive, flashy body, this woman is seemingly an unknown to the rest of Night City: no name, no rep, no status. Who is she and where did she come from?
Unbeknownst to everyone except the perpetrators, Vex was the eventual escapee of a black ops mission that converted her into the perfect assassin: hidden combat modules installed in her body and brain, camouflaged underneath the outward guise of a high end escort/joytoy. Her job would’ve been to infiltrate the parties and gatherings of the rich and powerful and take out key targets. However something with the program and Vex came out damaged and confused, her memories and personality half-overwritten by faulty programming that she doesn’t understand.
Player 2:
Savant was fairly inconspicuous for a corpo. The hiccup in that was he was not in fact a corpo. The Fixer wore a white shirt and tie and dark overcoat. Black mirrorshades made it all but impossible to see his eyes and that's what he wanted. To give both his allies and his enemies as little information as he possibly could because roles change quickly in night city especially in his line of work. Procurement of drugs, weapons, cyberware and more was all well and good but his main service? Information. Nobody was quite sure where he got his intel but the man was rumored to have knowledge of things that must never be shared. To do so would topple Corporations. How much of that was real and how much was entirely fabricated he didn't know.
To those he allowed to meet him he was clearly an intelligent man. Meticulous and calculating and utterly pragmatic to the point of ruthlessness. He made his living on the black market and intends to ensure his investments continue to pay off as they have for most of his life. He may be a gentleman but business sometimes requires him to get his hands dirty.
Player 3:
To the netizens of Night City, Nicolas Dragonov is mostly known by his alias Moxi, once he was a high profile streamer, reeking of nepotism as his mother is a high level executive in one of the many corporations operating in Night City. But everything changed suddenly when the city net was awash with scrambled clips of him being cussed out by his mother in a board room, accompanied rumours that he had been fired and his connection to his mother cut.
But the entire thing was simply a carefully crafted ruse, the truth would only be known to Moxi and his mother, along with a few carefully selected others. In fact Moxi simply wanted to step foot into the world of the edgerunners, but knowing the general anti-nepobaby sentiment shared by many street kid edgerunners, he had to come down to their level. That being said of course, even though he lives in a small apartment in Japan Town and takes gigs from fixers, there are still subtle hints of his mother's eurodollars around him.
Group Kinks:
exhibitionism, misogyny, free use, monsterfucking, lingerie, objectification, bad ends, creampies, breeding, voyeurism, spanking, pantyhose, bodymods, bimbos/bimbofication, bdsm, prostitution, strip club/brothel settings, drug use (by the partner), swinging
This group is also a mix of tops, bottoms, doms, subs and genders/sexualities!
Limits:
snuff, vore, pedophilia, scat, smegma, fat, hyper, feet (worship), nipple/ear penetration.
If you are interested in joining, please send me a DM/Chat with your kinks/limits, Rp experience, time zone and whether or not you're wanting to be a GM or a Player in our group! Applications without the password will be ignored.
Still looking for a GM for this game!
We are full for player (non-GM) applications though, thanks to everyone who reached out!
Edit: GM found, this post is closed.

eRP [21+][1-on-1][Duet DM/Player][D&D 2014/2024 5e][Gesalt (D&D)][NSFW][Play-by-Post Asynch] The Dark Tales NSFW
“This world has no regard for your happiness; can you still find it? At what cost?”
Greetings Adventurers,
I am looking for someone interested in a Duet Campaign where we would run two storylines simultaneously in my setting. It would be roleplay-focused, but the amount of combat entirely depends on what naturally makes sense for the character. A bard’s tale might have very few combats, while a fighter trying to be a knight of the realm would have more combats in comparison. This is designed to be a grimdark fantasy. While I would love to use systems better suited to it, 5e is such a mainstay for so many people that I have simply conformed to its base rules and made adjustments to make up the difference as best I can.
This world is one where desperate people try to survive in a cruel realm filled with monsters and magic that can shift the scales of fate on a dark whim. If you are looking for a heroic tale that is easy, you always win, and it’s all “black and white” against evil, or a world that bends to your character’s importance, then this is not a campaign for you.
Examples for the theme would be Darkest Dungeon, Fear & Hunger, Berserk, and Goblin Slayer; think grounded medieval horror fantasy.
We’ll use Avrae for dice rolling and Tupperbox for characters. Discord for messaging; I will set up the servers for use. We’ll try Roll20 for maps where necessary (if you are on mobile and Roll20 isn’t viable, I will take screenshots of the maps for reference and post them in the Discord).
Starting Date: Oct 19th. If you have not applied by this time or have not heard from me, it is safe to assume you were not selected. I would like to make sure that I do respond to all applicants, but I am not certain how reasonably I will be able to do so, depending on the number of applicants; we shall see.
Campaign Overview
This world was devastated by a collision among several worlds of existence, such as the Forgotten Realms, resulting in massive casualties and chaos, leaving civilization hanging by a thread for myriad reasons. Lands are filled with those seeking power for all the wrong reasons, and with the distortion of the realms, it has opened power vacuums for those who seek power to obtain it. Existing kingdoms rot from within as trade deteriorates; noble houses sell their honor to survive another day or to gain further power to advance their status. The gods of all realms have gone quiet on a global scale, while many churches preach salvation; none has yet provided indisputable proof. They would much rather manipulate those into their fold for more power. Monsters stalk the roads, some even wearing humanoid flesh, hunting those that dare to venture upon them to survive. Villages simply vanish from maps as indecipherable evils sneak in and swoop them away.
Arcane and Divine magic exist, but some nations fear or envy them; some of either practice try to remove the other from their nations to assimilate more power for themselves. While other nations call a truce and let both exist openly, even if they clash in the shadows.
A standard adventurer is called a Reclaimer; most seek to discover lost or new lands, find ancient ruins, ward off monsters, and undertake many other tasks that people or those who can afford them require. Reclaimers are viewed with unease; many have chosen this path out of foolish greed and ambition, leading some to be considered “Legal Bandits”. While some guilds and Reclaimers try to prove otherwise, it is a struggle for many who venture into this occupation.
This world once had unparalleled beauty upon “The Fall”, but maybe, from a distance, one could still admire the candlelit cathedrals, misty forests, noble courts, and songs of heroes long dead. But many blame the “Ancients” for this event known as “The Fall”; there were said to be one or more ancient civilizations that nearly dominated the entire world until they tried to reach beyond their station and were condemned by the Original Gods, being swiftly destroyed. The races enslaved by the “Ancients” would later rise to power and claim their own nations. It was said that the Gods' wrath was too powerful and that, in several thousand years, the world would be ripped apart once more. No one knew exactly when until it was too late.
But now… the daily horrors that transpire are numerous; a village leader paid tribute to monsters to survive the winter since the lord denied them aid; someone came back from the woods, but they aren’t the same anymore; someone was murdered in cold blood because they coveted their partner; someone begged for death only to be denied it again…
This is the campaign that I want to explore, one with beauty, horror, hope, despair, faith, corruption, and the people caught somewhere in between, where you aren’t the hero that will save the world by birth, one where you will have more scars than the ones in combat, where you have to make choices that make your stomach turn to reach your goal or to live another day; the expectation of another day for the character is uncertain.
The Story
In either campaign, it should not be designed around saving the world, so you may argue that this world may already be too broken for that.
The story should be about surviving it, living it, changing within it, and deciding what lines your character will cross before the end.
Our characters should not be legendary heroes at the beginning, but rather, they are people with wounds, debts, fears, desires, sins, loyalties, and reasons to see another sunrise.
Everyone starts somewhere, and in this campaign, that “somewhere” is not glory. But rather it is mud, hunger, fear, debt, grief, and desperation.
We both will likely play multiple characters over the course of the campaign due to death, retirement, corruption, capture, hiatus, or story reasons. Still, you may only actively play up to two characters at any given time, just enough to switch between or have them party up, but not too many that we slow down too much.
What I’m Looking For In This Duet
More than anything, I want a person who enjoys becoming their character and who loves story-building as a DM as well.
I want people who love conversations as much as combat. People who love to build relationships, rivalries, romances, grudges, loyalties, fears, and complicated histories.
Morality
The characters should not be “White Knights”; they should just be people trying to live another day.
This world produces survivors, zealots, cowards, martyrs, killers, liars, saints, monsters, and more. Each may call the character's morality into question, and that is encouraged.
The characters may be villains, capable of doing terrible things. They may lie, steal, kill, betray, sacrifice, abandon, or worse to further their own agenda.
What matters is that those choices feel earned.
If a character crosses a line, there should be a reason behind it, and it should come from who they are, what they have endured, what they fear, what they love, and what they are trying to protect or achieve.
Mature Themes, ERP, and NSFW Content
This is a 21+ campaign, due to the very dark elements, I will not compromise on this, please do not alter age in application to apply. The world contains many of the darkest and most horrific elements of humanity and fantasy horror.
The campaign may include violence, gore, torture, body horror, psychological horror, slavery, exploitation, abuse, corruption, religious extremism, war crimes, starvation, disease, madness, sexual themes, romance, ERP, and consequences worse than death, all of which depend and vary based on character choices and dice rolls.
These themes are not included for shock value or smut for the sake of smut; while characters, as noted, can be villains who do evil things or a bard who never leaves the brothel, it should make sense in the world or character, not just DM impulses.
These elements exist because this is a dark setting where evil is ugly, suffering has weight, and the cost to live another day can sometimes leave scars deeper than death.
ERP exists in the campaign; we will have rules for it in the document. It would be advantageous to be very comfortable or willing to embrace that should it present itself in-game.
Main story channels will use implication, aftermath, emotional framing, or fade-to-black where appropriate. Explicit ERP will be handled in separate channels.
As noted, I do expect applicants to be comfortable with their characters experiencing horrifying encounters that one should never wish upon another. As a player, I have no limits on what can happen to my characters, as long as it makes narrative sense.
This is intended to be a safe space to explore more mature and darker elements of life that we wouldn’t wish to encounter in real life, and how one survives and overcomes them. It is not meant to encourage, promote, or glorify behaviors taken by the creatures of the world.
For D&D, there will be mechanics provided within the form that will cover all of the core mechanics expanded upon for this section of play. As a warning, the original PDF has VERY NSFW art. These rules will not be used exactly as written in the book, since it's a bit too comedic and over-the-top, but they provide basic inspiration to draw from.
Before joining, all applicants will complete a form covering expectations, boundaries, content comfort, Lines & Veils, NSFW preferences, and safety tools. This campaign will not have many hard restrictions by default, so players must understand what kind of game they are applying for before joining.
Rules
For D&D campaigns, it will use D&D 5e 2014 and 2024, with house rules designed to support a slower, grittier, more grounded fantasy experience.
This will not feel like a standard heroic fantasy campaign.
The ruleset will include adjustments for things such as:
- Gritty rests.
- Downtime progression.
- Lingering consequences.
- Sanity and corruption.
- Injuries and recovery.
- Travel and survival.
- Relationship development.
- Reputation.
- Geslalt
- ERP Mechanics
- More grounded character growth.
The goal is not to make the game miserable or punish players for existing, but rather they exist to make the world feel dangerous, natural, and consequential.
Combat should feel like something characters survive, not something they casually farm for experience.
Downtime matters. Travel matters. Rest matters. Wounds matter. Food, coin, shelter, allies, reputation, and trust all matter.
Your character will grow through more than leveling. They may train, study, heal, break, recover, build bonds, lose faith, find purpose, or become something they never expected.
Sex will have its own pillar of experience just like Exploration, Combat, and Roleplay. The additional book has similar combat features and is roughly the same length. This allows characters to find other ways to progress: a bard could work their way up later by sleeping with all the nobles on their way to the big city; a ranger or barbarian could be a different type of monster hunter; or casual encounters/one with a partner, can advance the character.
Play-by-Post
This is an asynchronous play-by-post campaign, as I work full-time and reside overseas, so there will be times when I cannot immediately respond as GM.
Therefore, I am looking for a player/DM who can respond in both campaigns at least once or twice a day, to ensure both our characters' stories are played out roughly equally.
Closing Thoughts
If you got this far, thank you for your time and consideration. This is my first time looking for this style of game outside my normal circle, so I look forward to hearing from you.
If you are considering this game at this stage, here are some final notes as a summary: You will enjoy this campaign if you value the following: love deep character roleplay, enjoy collaborative storytelling more than “winning.”, want your backstory to matter, slow-burn character development, moral ambiguity and meaningful consequences, setbacks as much as victories, can handle uncomfortable themes maturely, are comfortable with adult themes being discussed, want downtime, travel, wounds, fear, and survival to matter, and are interested in exploring what a character becomes under pressure.
If you want to spend months telling the story of broken, desperate, flawed people trying to survive a world that devours the weak…
Then please apply and set aside time during the application process; I go into more detail there to ensure alignment and that expectations are met.

Discussion Friend looking to run a Pokémon Mystery Dungeon one-shot - and we need system suggestions!
As title says, any and all suggestions would be heartily welcome! Specifically he wants to run it as us playing as Pokémon, if that much wasn't clear!
This is also not a recruitment post, you can ask to join but I'm very certain he'll want to keep it between just his friends, I just need help with suggesting a system!
