With all the guys digging up their old Marqs recently, I figured I'd bring back some of the Turbo spring kits that Lurker made way back in the day. So I dug up my old spring kit, reached out to the old manufacturer for part numbers and started grinding springs down.
These are replacement valve springs for the stock Marq 7 engines. They do NOT work with the supercharged or proficiency engines.
The lighter spring lets you lower your dwell anywhere to 5-7, your lpr down to 50-60 and your HPR reportedly as low as 185. Personally I'm at a dwell of 6, an lpr at 56 and an hpr of 210 at 300 fps with really good consistency.
Users of the original run reported efficiency gains of 1.5 pods per 68 ci tank. Which is 270 more shots on a modern 77ci bottle. And because of the lower pressures, much softer on paint.
It is recommended that you turn on your ABS dwell if you get your lpr down below 60.
The old pbnation thread had a variation of customer results but I think that was a result of the wide variance in spring length that was cut back then. These ones I've been using a grinder to finish as opposed to wire cutters to make sure they are all exactly the same length to give the most consistent results possible. Lurker however back in the day claimed that a lot of the variance was due to oring fitment, grease used etc.
Each kit comes with one spring and one shim you can use to slightly stiffen it up for whatever reason, I figured I'd include them so people can experiment.
$30 shipped, buyer handles whatever fees they deem necessary.
I've got half a dozen left.
