Round Of Applause to Opencode.

Can we all agree that opencode is the best gateway? Genuinely providing us with extremely good model's and even free users get incredibly preforming model's like Deepseek V4.1 Flash.

lol. I find it funny that we hated OpenCode when they stopped giving DS for free.

And now we love it.

And now we love it.

Because they started giving away DS for free again.

The best part isn’t even just the free models, it’s being able to switch between providers without rebuilding your entire workflow every time.

With one gltich freemodels only available in opencode app. It was available to all, policy has changed.

I use Opencode almost exclusively. I have it configured to do exactly what I want/need and within my monthly budget which gets bigger with every successful project I do.

I used DeepSeek as how I used other models hot rate limited 😭

I love it, but did not love the hypocrisy of them yanking the ability to have their endpoints to be used in other harnesses, when even OpenAI allows Codex models to be used on OpenCode’s harness.

That move didn’t thrill me, and as such, OpenCode has now been relegated to my backup.

EDIT: This only applies to free models, so I walk back some of the criticism.

They do allow it, just not the free models

Fair point; I didn't read it closely enough and just tried with a paid model and it worked fine.

Still doesn't thrill me per se, but a lot happier it's only the free models that this applies to.

You may have confused it with the command code $1 plan which does this. But either way, you can use the models with 9router which cloaks the client, albeit may violate the TOS and is a constant game of cat and mouse.

Well the USP of open code. God bless them. Providing affordable access to good LLMs really takes some efforts and good business tactics.

They push their half-baked agent harness way too aggressively, and the website they vibe-coded using their own free models is just downright disrespectful to users. Other than that, they seem pretty decent in their niche.
