Hi all, I currently have JMB Crystal status, which, from my understanding, should grant me oneworld Ruby status. However, I’m not sure how it works because I recently flew with Alaska Airlines and didn’t receive any benefits. Am I missing something, or is there something I need to do to link my status? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

The question is will JAL or AA break the barrier like what Qantas is doing the same with “Project Sunrise”?

Hi my people,
tl/dr: looking for an accelerated route to non-US Sapphire status (please).
I'm US based, and have lots of loyalty with AA domestically. Currently travel for pleasure as recently retired.
Understanding OW rules, non-US Sapphire is great (for me) as it allows domestic AAdmirals Club (Flagship) access.
BEFORE: I took advantage of the BA match offer, which put me at BA Gold (OW Emerald) by taking one quick FC flight to Paris.
At the time, it looked as if Silver would be easy to maintain...
NOW: With the changes in BA's program (and US-based BA CC spend not counting toward Status), pursuit of BA Silver as a US resident makes little sense. So this year I have "soft landed" to Silver and my attention will go elsewhere.
POSSIBLE FUTURE: My current elsewhere plan might be to take advantage of the new Marriott / JAL partnership:
https://awardwallet.com/airlines/marriott-bonvoy-oneworld-status-match/
As I am Titanium with Marriott, that would get me 30K JAL FLY ON points annually (OW Ruby) , and I would need to get 20k more to get Sapphire. And that could be one long haul international flight (right?)
So... Is that the quickest /cheapest way for me to get a non-US OW Sapphire status... Or are there other crazier match / acquisition options out there?
Thank for the read and replies. I look forward to your input.

SFO and ORD are the only long-haul stations left that are entirely served by 77W from HND all 365 days. With 2 more 350K’s incoming, only one of them would take the daily A350K flight. My guess is it would be JL1/2 to SFO because of more premium demand, but ORD is a bigger OW hub.

I’m planning my first overseas trip with AA, but I’ve seen quite a few people saying it’s not worth spending that much money on. For those of you who’ve flown with AA, how was your experience? Anything you’d recommend or anything I should know before booking? Would love to hear your thoughts 👀

I am traveling DFW to SIN in a few days on AA from DFW to LHR which shows landing T3 and then BA from LHR to SIN from T5. I am wanting to access the Cathay/Qantas lounge on my 5 hour layover in LHR for sometime and then make my way over to T5 for departing flight. Is this doable in LHR? I appreciate your responses and recommendations in advance.

I have a flight booked through my company's agency between Manchester-Tokyo via Helsinki and back in economy, and for some reason they booked the outbound leg with JAL coded ticket and return leg with Finnair coded ticket (tbh, HEL-HND bit on way in is JAL operated), despite being booked in single booking reference.
I have limited budget spending so I cheaped out with the options when I made the quote to agency, assuming all my JAL Sapphire perks are usable.
My JAL membership number is already tied to the booking, with Finnair booking site successfully showing Sapphire status. However 1. Finnair portal doesn't show my perks of extra luggage and lounge access (did manage to book seats for 3 Finnair flights) and 2. Finnair site doesn't let me select seat for Helsinki-Tokyo operated by JAL (understandable) but JAL site doesn't even let me modify any booking or check seats etc, and just shows error message.
Manchester's lounge is not very good so I'm not too fussed about lounge access on the way in, and being a work trip I wouldn't have that much luggage either. But do I still get access to extra luggage and lounges in departing/connecting airports anyway, and any ideas how can I select seats for the JAL-operated section of the trip? My JAL membership is tied to Japan but I currently live in UK, so ideally I don't want to ring JAL Japan number to book a seat.

Sindbad does not seem to reciprocate the status/miles accumulation against flights flown via other partner airlines. Am I fair to say so? Living in Oman, I thought it would be best to stick to Sindbad as my sole one world membership but also questioning this. Flair of CX added because I flew a few times and no status or mileage added.
