Not transphobic.
You can change the way the Opera browser identifies on the web without any add-ons (i.e. make the server think you're using any other browser).
It's been a feature back from the old days when some web sites wouldn't even load if your browser was not Internet Explorer.

All browsers spy on you, why do people only care if it's China?

It runs off of Chromium which is what's important anyway. Also, it's the CPC, the CCP isn't a thing

Hopefully this is just a distasteful joke rather than genuine transphobia cause this joke is coming from the company that turned their Twitter pfp into two men kissing for pride month. Different socmed manager, probably.

The specific image they used has been most commonly used as a meme rather than genuine support, by the way. So, that doesn't really mean much.

I don’t know if normal Opera account is run by the same people as Opera GX (technically two separate browsers), but even if it was then I would not be surprised if it was at least semi-bigotry lol. The opera GX social media guys were Polish and as a queer Pole I know first hand transphobia is still considered „funny”, here people often have this attitude that as long as you don’t literally want a minority dead then you can’t be bigoted. It’s stupid but that’s how it is here.
Also that image is a meme and is rarely used in a sincere way, it’s usually more like „haha look two black men kissing so funny”
