The emojis in the end are like โ€œIโ€™m funny. Please laugh!โ€

u/hazxyhope Sep 14 '26

Also how you know the one posting is an out of touch boomer past 35.

u/real_vengefly_king Sep 14 '26

Like how they just repeat what's already on the image

Oh my sweet summer child, boomers are waaaay past 35. A lot of millennials are past 35 now. But yes, all of us and gen x are utterly out of touch, but only some find transphobia amusing!

3

u/StarboundPsychonaut Sep 14 '26

Iโ€™m 47 and I barely even qualify as the very tail end of Gen X.

2

u/dex_the_love 28d ago

In fact the child that the boomer had at 35 is also past 35.

4

u/billbobs678 Sep 14 '26

As opposed to a boomer under 35?

1

u/JibiStarr Sep 14 '26

I pray to God I'm not this cringe at 35

6

u/Purplcurse3732 Sep 15 '26

i hate that most laughing emojis are used like that now

You'd need a ticket to Dublin and a time machine to go outside and see this mate. Were talking early 2010s maybe late 2000s.

Also the joke is that this is a rail replacement bus service.

0

u/Lonely_Lunat1c 27d ago

That's not bigotry.

-72

u/Whole_Sir_1149 Sep 14 '26

It's a joke about a bus in a TRANSport environment. You're allowed to have some brevity and innocent jokes like this do more to normalise transfolk and further their rightful acceptance then it does to hurt them.

You should have been there for the gay jokes during the 90s/00s, those would drop your jaw of this bus joke is already so offensive.

59

u/Appropriate-Gain-561 Sep 14 '26

They don't normalize trans people, they ridicule them, it doesn't matter if when you were young you could bully people for being gay and not be punished for it.

You look like the people who say "oh you wouldn't have survived a CoD lobby", thank fuck i never used the VC in a COD game, i don't need racist homotransphobic idiots shouting slurs in my ear while i try to have fun, no one does.

34

u/Jolly-Statement7215 Sep 14 '26

It doesnโ€™t normalize us, it ridicules us

I always love the โ€œyou shouldโ€™ve seen what happens in [insert time before]โ€ like ok and? Iโ€™m glad I didnโ€™t! That sounds awful!

7

u/Alvxn Sep 15 '26

Yeah, we really need a cis person to tell us how we should feel about recycled jokes that are routinely used by the alt-right to ridicule us. Just like how white people should decide what's offensive to Black people, or neurotypical people should decide whether the r-word is offensive.

It's not like we trans people don't face the same sort of ridicule that gay people did in the 90s. You can complain about multiple things at once. Can Jews not complain about antisemitic caricatures just because the Nazis were worse? Does complaining about physical assault mean I'm not also against gun violence? That's where your logic leads when taken to its extreme.

2

u/PiliPalaPor4 28d ago

This is a sub exclusively about 'i identify as...' jokes are played out, unfunny and only serve to invalidate people who fight for their identities to be recognised. Are you lost?

8

u/Antekcz Sep 14 '26

It was funny with the choo choo I'm a train one

6

u/YammaTV Sep 14 '26

In Germany we call this Schienenersatzverkehr

4

u/Unknow_Handlebar Sep 14 '26

Schwarzenegger

3

u/Johni33 Sep 14 '26

He is Austrian

48

u/PsychologicalPace664 Sep 14 '26

Not as offensive as it looks. That bus is replacing a train connection (the train had broken down, the rail had a deformity, etc...) so it makes the same connection that the train does, for the same price with the same tickets. For legal purposes, when you submit this ticket in your taxes, it will be classified as a train ticket

59

u/OrangetangyOrka Sep 14 '26

It's still a shit joke by the companies though. I much prefer it when they go "I AM A TRAIN. CHOOCHOO." Or something, I've seen ones near me put a little train emoji on the screen too. So much cuter then... This

1

u/Kzero01 Sep 15 '26

Doesn't the driver write that?

26

u/Mimicrystal12 Transgender Commie Lib Snowflake Sep 14 '26

But it's still pointless to write "I identify as a train" instead of "Bus operating as a train" or something that actually explains it better

0

u/bobbyshown 29d ago

Just as useless as busses writing about the city team winning the sport match or wishing happy x day. It's purpose is not to be functional. Yes bigots are everywhere, but there's no need to read everything as bigotry, that's a good joke, it is clever, it has a logic behind it. It's not just a bus chauffeur being a transphobic. Yall are reading way too much into this

4

u/Rutiniya Trans femme :3 she/they/it Sep 14 '26

That's what the dreaded phrase "Rail Replacement Bus" is for

8

u/topcelt Sep 14 '26

It's called a "rail replacement service" and that's all that should be written there

1

u/FwippyBall Sep 15 '26

cis detected

6

u/petesmybrother Sep 15 '26

โ€œHaha so funny right? Anyway last night I had a dream I was a train and woke up crying, whatโ€™s up with that?โ€

3

u/Beautiful_Couple_208 OOOOOOooooo pretty color- *gags* Sep 14 '26

I don't care what it identifies as, just take me where I need to go.

2

u/mediumcarrotteacher Sep 15 '26

Imagine if Britain just got their train system to frigging work already

2

u/GayPenguins12 Sep 15 '26

Missed chance to say they are trainsgender

2

u/Atom-Heart-63 29d ago

I identify as a person minding my fuckin business Transphobes are so weird lol

2

u/xx_swegshrek_xx 27d ago

Trans link you say?

1

u/TheKingOfDissasster Sep 14 '26

Good! Go drive in the train tracks then! Ofc, it's too dangerous to have a train driving in the streets ๐Ÿง

-11

u/TheEPGFiles Sep 14 '26

In that case, calm down, you're off the rails.

-34

u/k819799amvrhtcom Sep 14 '26

I find the joke funny.

I think it's a funny and useful way to signify a rail replacement bus and I don't see any hostility behind this.

As for the person who made the post, I don't see any transphobia there either but maybe OP knows something about OOP I don't.

11

u/Vinxian Sep 14 '26

I've seen replacement busses say "I am a train" which is such an obvious much better thing to say that the "I identify as" joke is just really lame

-12

u/k819799amvrhtcom Sep 14 '26

Another post on r/onejoke depicted a bin saying "I identify as non-bin-ary" and I researched the origin and the inventor of that joke did not mean it in a malicious way.
