I’m an aspiring writer looking for a writing group that meets in person. I would prefer a group in Oakland County but I’m open to suggestions in neighboring counties. Any suggestions are appreciated.

I know this is googleable and that psychtoday has a search engine but this is sensitive enough that it would be nice to hear personal recommendations. I'm trying to help a loved one find some help with coping with quitting drinking that isn't just AA - their story doesn't quite line up with what AA focuses on and they feel like it's not as helpful to them as it is to others.

I'd love to know if any therapist or clinic around the Rochester/Troy/Utica area has been especially helpful to anybody here or their loved ones. Bonus if they're LGBT friendly/experienced, double bonus if they might have some experience with religious trauma.

Thank you so much in advance.

This would have been later evening 10/12 or early morning 10/13. Did anyone else hear it? It sounded like thunder but there was just one loud boom, no followup, no lightning I saw, and there was no rain at the time. Anyone know what was going on?

Ok battle of the bougie gyms…do yall like Equinox or Lifetime fitness better? Why? Anything to watch out for?

Hi! I homeschool my two neurospicy kiddos (ages 7&9) and I’m looking for other families in the area that we can go on field trips with and just be able to plan weekly hikes and other fun things. Before COVID I had a lovely group for my eldest (who’s since graduated) but that was in a different county, not to mention it dissolved. I feel as if it’s harder to find groups like these now?!
If anyone could point me in the right direction to be able to find recommendations and also some resources that the county may offer.

Thank you!

Oakland County gardeners- what's your plan tonight? Are you bringing in all the veggies still out there and calling it a season?

I have quite a few tomatoes, eggplants, peppers, and tomatillos that could use another week or so of growing. However, it could frost tonight with the forecast as low as 41.

I also have a bunch of Dahlia flowers I could consider bringing in.

I'm curious what everyone thinks!

I am looking for companies to completely replace my asphalt driveway before winter. There is a drainage problem and it has to be fixed ASAP.

Beginner tennis player (1.0) looking for someone to practice rallying with. Looking to hopefully find someone to meet weekly with.

Hi everyone, we are looking at properties across northern Oakland County and trying to budget correctly for next year. I know Michigan has the taxable value uncapping rule after a ownership transfer, but I want to make sure I am calculating the millage rate jump correctly for Rochester Hills specifically. Is there a local calculator or tax estimator tool you rely on?

Seeking a barber in the Pontiac, Troy, Auburn Hills, or Rochester Hills area that can hook me up with a short (not bald) fade
