I didn't move for 45 minutes!!!
Sitting at W 4th st and conductor says there is a sick passenger at High st.
Okay, I assume there will be some delay and that there must already be some back up from High st to W 4th already.
An E train goes by on the local track but I don't rush to switch because its only been 5 or so minutes.
Then an A train comes on the local track, ok things are backed up, but then its a game of which train will leave the station first, and of course the conductor doesn't give any clues, just keeps reminding us of a sick costumer at High st.
I don't switch to local (I really should have!) cause I assume if its a hold up at High st then the local will be backed up as well and we will likely meet again at Canal st, and because it seems every time I leave a train to get ahead I end up watching the train I left pull ahead.
But then a C train and 2 more E trains keep coming and going on the local track.
Eventually the conductor announces our A train is going out of service please get off, so we get on the next arriving local A train and head on our way downtown.
But in later service announcements and on the MTA website it says delays were due to issues at W 4th st!
I am just clearly going insane here and wish there was some effort to communicate about how to save time in these situations. 20-30 minute delays happen all the time especially for a sick passenger which i understand, but 45 min+ just feels avoidable in this type of scenario.
