Hotel Suggestions

/r/NiagaraFalls/comments/1x4vled/hotel_suggestions/

I'm looking for an affordable, clean hotel with a room overlooking Niagara Falls for a 2-night stay one month from now.
Does anyone have any recommendations?
The Oakes Hotel looks affordable and clean—has anyone stayed there before?

For a falls-view room, the key thing to confirm when booking is the exact room category, not just the hotel. A lot of properties on Falls Avenue and along the parkway advertise falls views but only a portion of their rooms actually face the water. When you are looking at any listing, check that the room type itself says partial or full falls view, and look at recent photo reviews on Google or Booking rather than the hotel's own photos, which tend to be the best-case angle.

On the Oakes specifically, it comes up regularly in this sub. Running a quick search here for Oakes Hotel will surface recent first-hand reports that will be more current than anything I can tell you.

One practical note for a stay a month out: November rates tend to be noticeably lower than summer, and last-minute inventory sometimes opens up closer to the date if you see something you like but the price feels high right now. Worth checking back.

Hope you find a great room.
