One Protester Fights 6 officers in protective gear
This happened today on the 135th day of protests against the sale of our lands to Jared Kushner and to prevent slipping into a dictatorship.
Addition: If you want to learn more about the deal to buy Sazan Island by Jared Kushner, I wrote an article explaining it about 4 months ago:

Yeah, Ivanka acted as if she and Nimrod had "discovered" this Mediterranean island.
19
u/lyrics85 1d ago
omg that was so weird. Who tf wrote that story??
14
u/Temporary-Truth-8041 1d ago
I'm not sure...I just remember seeing Ivanka gushing about what a lovely little island she and JK had "discovered...as if they were Magellan and Columbus rolled into one...and of course they wanted to MAGA (make Albania great Again)

Haha, and all hits are high and they try to aim for the head.
In German police handbook, it's described to aim at the upper outer leg, aiming at the head can result in lethal consequences...

it's in Albania, jared and ivanka want to buy a pristine island for 2 billion and turn it into a resort, epstain island 2.0 basically.
23
u/Tribe303 1d ago
Correct but it's not a pristine island. There's a former Soviet base there, and it has a nuclear bunker. THAT'S why they want it so bad.
16
u/Cat_Peach_Pits 1d ago
Knowing Albanians, that resort is going to be endlessly attacked if if even gets to the stage of being built.

What's this protest about and where? 135 days it's time to ask I gess
86
u/lyrics85 1d ago
This protest is in Albania. We have been protesting against the sale of Sazan Island, the Zvernec village, and the Narta Lagoon to Kushner's fund. Our prime minister is very corrupt, and he is willing to sell anything just to stay in power. Till today, we protested peacefully, but they kept ignoring us and making fun of us so from now on we will speak differently.
4
u/PaulblankPF 23h ago
Nothing I can do here to help there but I cheer on you guys efforts and bravery. Gonna be thinking of and hoping for the best for you all. The corruption needs to end, may we all find the strength to stand up to our oppressors like you all have with yours.
5
u/StopTheMeta2 1d ago
Mention one Albanian prime minister the last 30 years who wasn't like that, I'll wait.
23
1
u/ikkito 17h ago
OP is misleading. while its true that the protest started against the Sazan Island and company.. the protest now are against the political leaders in the past 30 years who've done nothing but steal from the people. SPAK which is a special prosecution institution who prosecutes organized crime and politicians has shown what happens behind the curtains, which is basically everything corrupt, organized mob bosses controlling Secret Service and many more wild things have been shown in the past few years. the people have had enough and are revolting.

For fuck's sake is there a single democracy left in the world that hasn't been caught up in this wave of right wing lunacy? It's painful watching the same madness unfold everywhere.
489
u/lyrics85 1d ago
I don't think it's about ideology. Our prime minister is the head of the Socialist Party. It's about corruption and corporate elites exploiting smaller countries.
Our PM is selling the land to Kushner; he is cooperating with Netanyahu and exploiting the fact that EU diplomats are corrupt and couldn't care less, so he can stay in power. For 14 years, his government has acted like a bunch of barbarians, but we've had enough.

well the left generally want to tax them, while the right call that class warfare.
the left put professional regulators in charge of the agencies that regulate the markets, while republicans put in people who want to destroy those agencies.
For sure the biggest divide is top versus bottom but the both sides garbage is garbage.
the left dont put oil men who need sound proof booths in charge of the epa
the left didnt kill the gas mileage standards, or make it so companies dont have to buy carbon credits.
the left didnt make it so corps could put more arsenic in the water.
the left didnt say the clean air act doesnt count for Co2.. in fact all the left dissented when the supreme court ruled that way
nah right now, its not left and right fucking up the planet for the rich, only the right are. yeah we could use the left being less centrist, but we can do that in primaries.
5
u/FcUhCoKp 1d ago
You miss the point. The left aren't going to convince the right to change to their side. That would never happen. It's a non-starter. Instead, we neutrally decide to cleanse the douchebags who want to keep us down, without any other issues to muddy the water. Once that's done, then we can figure out different ideologies.
13
u/w00tabaga 1d ago

Dude and yourself miss the fact that most if not ALL politicians are corrupt or at least face the same bad apples as police argument. There is a reason it's called left wing and right wing since it's the same damn bird.

There are a lot of very valid criticisms to be said against the DNC, but acting like they're at ALL comparable to the GOP is fucking laughable. The DNC's issues largely lie in the fact that they ultimately espouse the quieter issues created by the GOP and only take action, for the most part, against the most egregious problems caused by them. The DNC has absolutely played a role into our steep decline into whatever the fuck is going on right now, but it's completely nonsensical and naive to claim that the equivalent of stubbing your toe is the same as taking a shotgun to the foot.
1
u/Xerxes42424242 17h ago
Two sides of the same coin - don't worry, there will be a "cooler heads prevail" period with Dems in charge, and all of the same shit that's being passed will continue to be passed.
15
u/alexanderbacon1 1d ago
Yeah but all you have is this equivocation. The poster just a few posts up has actual receipts. It's okay I was 22 and not personally affected by politics once too. So I could also have these edgy ill informed takes. Unfortunately now since there's concrete policies that matter very very much to my life I need to actually make the better choice.
1
u/AutismAndAnacondas 7h ago
This is why I think the money out of politics is the key. All the fucking lizard people that just want to exploit the rest of us while hoarding piles of money like the goblins they are will go to some other line of work instead of literally burning the world down for profit. Hopefully if it’s not a lucrative position it will attract candidates that actually care about the future of humanity and the well being of the masses instead of lining their pockets no matter the cost to the rest of us.
0
u/Large-Difference-409 1d ago
They aren’t realizing that this infighting and division is why we are where we are.
3
u/alexanderbacon1 1d ago
Yeah dude it's me and not the political party with some 14 to 16 of the top 20 mega donors.
How am I supposed to unify with the platform that considers my wife less than human? Or the one that is okay with new wars? Or the one that thinks the most vulnerable of us don't deserve healthcare?
I can square the circle on tax policy. I can reasonably disagree on zoning regulations. This shit is bonkers and I'm pretty sure Yandex is back online.

Unfortunately, people are too tribal and lack critical thinking skills.
America is getting dumber, and this will not stop.
3
u/Pickleman75 1d ago
You think the left is too centrist!?
5
u/Large-Difference-409 1d ago edited 1d ago
Oh god you’re doing it. Unite with the people who share your everyday struggles, not the rhetoric the top wants to use to separate us. We all have friends/family that experience life 99% the same we do, but the top will make you think they are way different
Ffs sales just talk to the people you know and disagree with about your disagreements instead of talking to online strangers about your disagreements. Thats how become a part of the real world. The top doesn’t want you talking to people you know who disagree with you because you’ll probably find common ground The top want you fighting Strawmen representations of “the other side” online so you don’t realize how much you have in common with
-1
u/Pickleman75 1d ago
3 of my real life left friends of many years dropped me out of their life because I said that celebrating and or wishing assassination on anyone is not a good precedent to set, agree with their politics or not. If you think the American left is centrist you need to uninstall reddit. I'm registered independent, have voted outside of the top 2 for every election because bipartisan politics are dumb, but I'm not naive enough to think Republicans are "literally the KKK" and Democrats are "sensible centrists". Talk about a skewed viewpoint dude my god.
4
u/Antraxess 1d ago
No thats actually the truth.
Republicans are calling innocent americans terrorists and working with our enemies against America and our allies.

u/josephgregg 1d ago

He said head of the socialist party runs the country. Those directions apply to the US but doesnt mean squat in most other places. They dont have the rigid basis of how our government was designed.
1
u/CackleberryOmelettes 19h ago
Up and top is Left and Right. Left wing politics is entirely about the working class uniting against the ruling class. Right wing politics is about separating the working class into tribal camps of traditional hierarchies.

I hope the protesters win, politicians seem to forget they're elected to serve the people, not themselves or their wealthy friends.
2
u/DrewPeacock984 1d ago
They aren't forgetting anything. They just don't care. They are deliberately choosing to be this way.
5
u/ManyHopeful6692 1d ago
They get compromised (assuming they aren’t already), that’s unfortunately intentional to a degree
I say we do away with electoral politics entirely, that’d be a great start to fixing up things
4
u/ravzzy 1d ago
if we do away with electoral politics, what's next?
3
u/El_Sephiroth 1d ago
A contest to put the best applicants as "employee who assembles experts to create propositions" then the people vote on it.
Basically, a secretary with absolutely no power but to organize stuff.
5
u/ravzzy 1d ago
The problem with countries facing democratic issues is that the person in charge of making sure there is a fair and equal playing field among all candidates is the first one to be compromised and voting then gets rigged or people lose their voting rights. Exactly the same thing happening in India right now. It’s like an illegitimate political party has come to power to form a government.
1
u/El_Sephiroth 1d ago
Except there is no party, nor elected person in my proposal. Make a committee, create a contest to find the best secretary that, again, has no power over anyone and then pay him to organize experts on issues at hand.
They (the experts) make PROPOSALS that can only become law if the people agrees (<50% agreement necessary or else redo).
3
u/ravzzy 1d ago
This is exactly how the election commission works today in many democracies, they have no power over anyone nor are they being paid but they still have powers to manipulate the results while voting or determining who can or cannot vote. It’s just that in your proposal we remove politicians and political parties and replace them with a secretary. Now it still doesn’t eradicate the underlying problem of corruption that’s inherently human. Let’s even assume this will work, how will this work for bigger nations? It might work for a city or a smaller country.

Yes. The protests are not only against the sale of our lands but also against the rampant corruption we have faced these last 36 years from both the democratic and Socialist parties.
We want a system with truly free elections. We want a government that can solve the urgent problems that might put an end to mass emigration.
You know, since the situation is dire, about 27% of our population has left the country since 2011 and moved to Western Europe.
We don't want the project because we would lose premium land. And as it usually happens in Albania, construction projects are usually money-laundering schemes for international organized crime.

When I say "we," I mean protesters in general; we have no leader.
1
u/clib 1d ago
Do you have a name for the movement, or party?
1
u/lyrics85 1d ago
The protests were known as the "Flamingo Revolution" since the area where they plan to build the resort is a key habitat for Flamengos in Europe. I don't really know who coined this name, since right from the start the protests were not only asking for protection of the environment but for a radical change in how we do politics. We want the irrevocable resignation of the PM and to create the necessary conditions to have free elections. Then whoever wins, wins.
1
u/clib 1d ago
We want the irrevocable resignation of the PM and to create the necessary conditions to have free elections. Then whoever wins, wins.
How much support do you have among the population?
1
u/Cufo19 7h ago
The majority support the protest however whoever works in government and their families are too scared to join the protest. And there are a lot of people that work in government and that’s one of the ways how the party in power secures their votes on election day as they put pressure so the employees and their families vote this party.

If anything right wing and autocratic ideals are more appealing to the youth from all the reports I have looked at. My understanding it's attributed to a decline in literacy, and higher education as well as structural economic changes, social media propaganda and the affordability crisis all coming together.

Oh yea.... nobody could win a 6 vs 1 hand to hand. Mike Tyson maybe when he was 21 but it would have to be against 120 lb guys without gear and them coming 1 at a time. Movies give people super hero complex. I have special forces family (2 siblings 2 branches and many combat missions) and they always say even the baddest mother fuckers they ever met couldn't do a 5 on 1 without weapons or tactical advantages. Even against barely trained opponents its just not possible if 6 men are kicking you in the groin and head
