She wanted to reach the 14.5 foot wall ever since she started at the gym

The over editing on these ruins it. Just give us the original audio so we can hear their excitement! The stupid slo-mo and music is too much.

Honestly I think it's just a dad doing a corny video at least it's not some annoying Brazilian dubstep infused tik tok

57

u/PhDinWombology 2d ago

I enjoyed the change of pace

29

u/Kurgerbing2018 2d ago

🥹 thinking about that it's kinda heartwarming

20

u/gbejrlsu 1d ago

It's 100% a dad-edit. Watched it in silent mode like most but still the Chariots of Fire theme ran through my head. It's hilarious and great.

5

u/TheMov3r 1d ago

That's exactly what happened to me, I turned up the volume fully expecting this song and was not disappointed

11

u/yonkapin 1d ago

it's not, bunch of videos going around using this classic track, i don't even know what it's called

19

u/Talory09 1d ago

Vangelis - Chariots of Fire

It's the theme song from this movie: Chariots of Fire. It's a dramatic movie about sports, which is why so many athletic achievement clips are set to it.

If she loses her grip and falls he plays the 'oh no. Oh no. Oh no no no no no' song

4

u/Meotwister 1d ago

Yeah this is how people would ruin videos in the early internet haha. Almost nostalgic now.

That music was incredibly overplayed when that movie was out. But it went from unbearable to hilarious when a guy I worked with came up with "the lyrics" for it.

"There once were 2 runners

Who ran on the beaches

To get to the Olympics

In 1924."

There was more, but I don't remember it as well. It cracked us up when he sang it for us in the office one day, and still brings a smile to my face.

5

u/mrminutehand 1d ago

As a kid, I watched Bruce Almighty before Chariots of Fire, so whenever I hear this music all I can see is Jim Carrey spilling a massive jug of milk over a line of kids.

It's not as weird as how I might have worded that. Clip.

u/Lindt_Licker 1d ago

For me it’s National lampoons vacation when they’re running through the inexplicably empty parking lot at Wally World.

I think we can go slower to be honest. This video could have been at least an hour and 15 minutes. 1:30 if done professionally.

u/TheTaoOfMe 2d ago

Yah someones trying to win an oscar with this edit

10

u/Buggaton 1d ago

This is the second video I've heard with Chariot's of Fire in the background. Honestly, of all the crappy backing music, this one I can get on board with. I mean, I'd rather the original audio, but if we're always going to have trends of crappy music in the background, this isn't the worst choice.

I'd prefer the airship music from Final Fantasy 11 though.

10

u/Logical_Net6108 1d ago

Imagine how miserable you have to be to get mad at Chariots of Fire being put over something athletic

3

u/Buggaton 1d ago

Haha, well quite!

My youth was this exact thing on TV shows and adverts. It's kinda nostalgic!

5

u/lesteadfastgentleman 1d ago

I agree with you, throbbing cock 452.

3

u/ammonthenephite 1d ago

Yup. Show me the video first and let me decide if I want to watch a slow-mo frame by frame of it, lol. Didn't even finish it.

2

u/Exact-Mathematician8 1d ago

At least it's not the stupid "Faaaak"

2

u/CaliCareBear 1d ago

And cutting off the button moment?!

u/kingpin2k 2d ago

Annoying slomo, cool wall run.

68

u/Scereye 1d ago

On mute the slowmo was actually pretty cool to watch.

28

u/Lobsterzilla 1d ago

I just wish we got both tbf. I don’t understand why every video that uses slow motion doesn’t also follow up with regular speed

6

u/Viper_595 1d ago

Ended too soon. We need to see the celebration!

3

u/Bonemesh 1d ago

Should have filmed the original in "slomo mode " 240 fps or something, so playing it back doesn't look like a slide show

3

u/Bacon-muffin 1d ago

I actually thought the slowmo was neat, but it coulda used the full speed version too.

87

u/pewpewhadouken 2d ago

i guess technically it is the next fucking level up.

17

u/smokeyoudog 2d ago

It’s technically the highest level available on that apparatus.

322

u/Archhanny 2d ago

Why is it in slow motion?

260

u/level1hero 2d ago

It’s actually in real time. The girl ran so fast it warped the space-time continuum

58

u/Explorerkit 2d ago

I hate when that happens

19

u/deadspacekillers 2d ago

Well if she warps it enough, you can go back in time and keep it from happening.

2

u/ChanceConfection3 2d ago

I mean, she doesn’t even have access to a deflector dish that can emit an inverse tachyon beam

7

u/Archhanny 2d ago

No you just have to fly round the sun really fast

3

u/mateo222210 1d ago

it´s the earth. you have to reverse the rotation of the earth by flying round it really fast, thus going back in time. obviously

2

u/PepperAnn1inaMillion 1d ago

Don’t be ridiculous. You have to fly around the Earth until it spins the wrong way. Then turn it forwards again.

Me on my couch shoveling caramel corn in my craw:

I could do that…

(No, no I cannot)

8

u/testtdk 1d ago

Next American Ninja.

6

u/Good-Seesaw1933 2d ago

The spotter being excited for her is fun to see…

15

u/Disastrous_Cold3705 2d ago

That’s insane. I love it.

5

u/vansantjr 2d ago

Umm can you please just show me the original clip thankya

7

u/CutterNorth 2d ago

This made me smile.

7

u/Randomsicilianguy 1d ago

What kind of training is this? It looks cool af

4

u/Every_Self1349 2d ago

Cool but slow mo ruins it

5

u/VectorJones 1d ago

It has been interesting to see how these American Ninja athletes have stepped up their game over the years as one contrasts and compares early courses with the later ones. These ramps were the scourge of the course for strong, seasoned athletes once upon a time. Now little kids are tackling them fairly easily.

3

u/AliensAbductMePlz 2d ago

Impressive!

4

u/bomilk19 2d ago

Well done! I was able to navigate an entire flight of stairs today and only had to stop once to catch my breath.

5

u/Smile_Space 1d ago

Why with slo-mo on low frame rate footage?

4

u/MathHysteria 1d ago

Video ended too early - I wanted to watch her celebration!

4

u/StickFigureLegs 1d ago

Hell yeah!

3

u/u9Nails 2d ago

I hurt my shoulder for at least a year doing that. Raising my arm made a sharp pain.

4

u/I_Keep_Trying 2d ago

Beat that wall! Beat that wall!!

This is a standard feature on American Ninja Warrior. It’s great television. You can see at the top of the wall it says Ninja.

4

u/happytree23 1d ago

Apparently, I'm the only one who doesn't mind the music and slo-mo (?)

6

u/SabbyFox 1d ago

I browse on mute so no prob there. Didn’t mind the slo mo. This girl is good!

2

u/Onphone_irl 2d ago

I have no idea how good I'd be at this (I'm decently athletic) but something tells me I might be absolute ass.

Is it strong quads/glutes or is there a bit more to it?

3

u/InsurancePristine938 1d ago

the trick is to stretch a ton and get lucky you dont shred something on the back of your leg

2

u/kobeshaqhorry 1d ago

Also, get shoes with enough grip

Hot damn! Video ends too soon. I wanted to see her reaction.

2

u/discountdoppelganger 2d ago

Very impressive. I snapped both Achilles while watching

2

u/killslayer 1d ago

I mean she came pretty close to with how she started her run. Basically textbook way to tear it taking negative steps then fully planting the heel

Aye I know that coach and gym! Congrats to her, first warped wall is always special, especially at that age.

2

u/Dependent_Key5423 1d ago

she finally got over that wall and instead of hearing her freak out we get a whole netflix trailer

next time just post the raw clip cause that moment dont need no help

2

u/Comfortable-Bag1182 1d ago

Well done 👏

2

u/wheelienonstop14 1d ago

Let us see it it in real time first, then in slow motion! This kind of editing is so annoying.

2

u/PeonyAfterDark 1d ago

Congrats to this determined girl! I'd love to see the full climb without any cuts and see how happy she is when she makes it to the top.

2

u/AnnaGorgeousss 1d ago

There’s always someone out there casually redefining what’s possible.

2

u/zardoz73 1d ago

I tried these a few times and they are, to me anyway, oddly frightening.

2

u/SpunNumeroUno 1d ago

Damn, get it girl. Good work.

2

u/Several_West_8519 1d ago

The coach was just as happy

2

u/krichard-21 1d ago

Congratulations! Well done!

I'm not getting that on the best day of my life...

2

u/Key_Dig1348 1d ago

She's officially a ninja now 🔥🔥🔥

2

u/DDanny808 1d ago

Well done young lady!

2

u/CC2DalTX 1d ago

Good for her!

2

u/Quizzlickington 1d ago

I like how happy the coach/spotter is when she gets it. Nice vid

2

u/red_codec 1d ago

I love the man doing a little 'YES!' rooting for the girl when she reached. ❤️

2

u/Phyrst_Blood 1d ago

Awesome!!!!

2

u/Keepabuzz 1d ago

That girl is part Belgian Malinios! Badass!

2

u/RelationshipWaste896 1d ago

She is a true Ninja

2

u/paramac55 1d ago

Well done you

2

u/frDragonfruit 1d ago

just play the video you don't have to slow it down and put some bulllshit music over it literally just post the video it's fine nothing bad will happen

3

u/ammonthenephite 1d ago

So overly edited that I didn't even finish watching it. Just post the video people, or do the slowmo after the real time playthrough.

2

u/Endlessness40 2d ago

A little more slow please, so that I can skip it

1

u/REpassword 2d ago

Question: is there a big lip at the top?

1

u/MastodonLife3577 2d ago

OP, is this the St Lou location by chance? That runway is cramped/short makes that wall even more of a beast!

1

u/casua1_0bserver 2d ago

I hate to say it but the music sounds so ironic that I kept expecting her to fail 🫣

1

u/Critical_Silver194 2d ago

Man... The background music just reminds me off the dunder mifflin ad by micheal scott.

1

u/miscueLoL 1d ago

I had to increase the speed to 320% to get it to run at an acceptable looking speed...

1

u/axecalibur 1d ago

What real worl 14 foot wall has a curve incline rubber surface that kids can run up?

1

u/FyouinyourA 1d ago

Needs to be in slower motion I looked away for 45 seconds and missed it!!!!

1

u/Ill-Astronaut4652 1d ago

Spider lass👌

1

u/icy_01_ 1d ago

Devotion

1

u/j33perscreeperz 1d ago

she would be so good at that one survivor challenge

1

u/NicheFandomSeeker 1d ago

I need that gif of Suki from Avatar scaling the prison walls lol

1

u/AtmosphereWilling266 1d ago

"You're grounded" -Runs up the wall and plays games on the ceiling, while her parents fruitlessly try to swat her down with brooms

1

u/pallidamors 1d ago

Fuuuucking dumb music. I want to hear her dad or family hooting and hollering for her

1

u/PilotKnob 1d ago

Two Chariots of Fire slow-mo videos on the front page. Another glitch in the matrix.

1

u/j2m1s 1d ago

Spider-girl, Spider-girl

Does whatever a spider does

1

u/easy10pins 1d ago

I think the original Spider Man cartoon theme song would have been more appropriate.

1

u/qshak86 1d ago

Congrats.... now ...regular speed first slowmo replay.

1

u/JackpotThePimp 1d ago

Does it bother anyone else unnaturally that these Warped Walls aren't arcs like the Japanese original?

1

u/lordofRamen01 1d ago

Real life parkour is hard enough without a stamina bar. Beating this 14.5 ft wall is a huge achievement. Sad we missed the victory screen because of the editing.

1

u/Mynock33 1d ago

I sneezed and hurt my back yesterday

1

u/kpsmithdeut 1d ago

Full speed first, and then slow-mo on the second time. Why doesn’t everybody know this?

1

u/74orangebeetle 1d ago

You know what'd make this really cool? Okay the actual video clip at a normal speed. Playing a low frame rate video in ultra allow motion just gives us a slide show.

1

u/WorldWideDarts 1d ago

I've never tried one of these walls but I was wondering what type of footwear would work best. Maybe a wrestling type shoe? Something with a very soft sole I'm thinking

1

u/boredlady819 1d ago

STRIDE STRIDE STRIDE EXECUTE

1

u/Skylantech 1d ago

If I was in top physical shape, I'd never be able to do this.

My feet sweat too much lol

1

u/fwambo42 1d ago

didnt even show her hitting the button or her moment of triumph. really disappointing video

1

u/Practical-March-6989 1d ago

I really hate slomo

1

u/wayfarout 1d ago

Show us full speed and then a slomo replay.

1

u/polyestaplaya 1d ago

American Ninja 27.5, the series continues. 😂

1

u/Sletzer 1d ago

Real speed first, THEN slow-mo. Why is this so hard?!?

1

u/onegumas 1d ago

Easy: Use some tar on your shoes.

1

u/carlitospig 1d ago

Spider girl, spider girl… 🥳

1

u/pyrojackelope 1d ago

The start is a bit like a cat calculating a jump.

1

u/Ybenax 1d ago

That's 4.27 meters btw, in case you were wondering.

1

u/Yoplet67 1d ago

How to make a good physical achievement video: 1. Play regular speed 2. Play again slow motion

How to not make a good physical achievement video: 1. Play regular speed 2. Slow down the video after a few seconds 3. Slow down again the video after a few other seconds

1

u/eliz1bef 1d ago

Okay, I am so proud of this young lady. This brought tears to my eyes. I would never see myself doing that. Incredible!

1

u/Jayypoc 1d ago

Congrats, awesome feat. But I downvoted it because the slomo and unbearable music.

1

u/JasonTheX 1d ago

Hell yeah

1

u/Clueby42 1d ago

I guess the next level is 4 and a half metres up

1

u/K3PTHIDD3N 1d ago

My biggest red flag is that I seriously think I can do this (as a skinny dude that hasn't worked out in over a year) - yea realistically I would miserably fail....

1

u/kalonjiseed 1d ago

Her feet are bigger than the trainers 😳

1

u/KnowledgeableSloth 1d ago

That was impressive

1

u/avrilmaclune 1d ago

👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

1

u/sammagee33 1d ago

14 feet higher than I could get

1

u/HELL_SunTzu 1d ago

My achilles tendon tore just watching this

1

u/BlackFlag187 1d ago

Wow! That’s amazing kid, wish I could do that then and now haha

1

u/funnyman95 1d ago

She generated a lot of fucking power off that one foot

1

u/3-ringstab 1d ago

Girl was GLIDIN!!!!

1

u/surethisusernamewrkz 1d ago

cheers on from couch
