Downtime is scheduled for tomorrow, October 14th at 9:00AM PT, for a client and server update with a small but mighty number of player facing changes
In addition to our regular server maintenance, we included the following in the new build:
Gold removed from the cost of items in the faction shop
Catacombs sterling rewards increased
Daggers disabled
Purifying Switch II perk disabled
War merc limits removed
Isle of Night raid rewards adjustment
Ultimate trophies stack in all 5 houses
Significant reduction in the carry and storage weight of 7 perk-charm materials
Corrupted portals respawn faster
Thank you to everyone who has participated in the player wishlist thread, that is where the majority of these changes were pulled from. Our team has some more QoL changes under investigation, but no timeline on when/if we can get them into the live game. Stay tuned and as always, see you in Aeternum.

To the small handful of devs. If you guys want to leak the multiplayer server source files online, that would be lovely. 😁

I think re engineering it will make less of a buggy mess honestly

Since you don't need to reverse engineering bugs its true

So basically ask ai to “reverse engineer new world, pls dont include bugs ty”

This is absurd. Why disable daggers if the game is taken offline in a few weeks anyway?

Daggers disabled? Were they an issue?

A friend stopped playing because of them.
At first when they were enabled we couldnt play OPR because someone using it would insta crash his game.
I dont know if its because of that they were disabled.

I'm wondering the same thing

We're daggers crashing OPR? I haven't been around for a little while but I remember that being a problem.

Dagger seem to be the scapegoat for everyone that crashes. Personally, I’ve ran daggers for hours since they were released and never had a crash related to them. Bows and muskets make me crash. They should disable those next.

Why in the hell were daggers disabled. I mean I leveled them when they were first added and wasn't that impressed as they weren't fully fleshed out... but still. Why?

Damn, I wanted to try the daggers before the game shut down. Guess I should have hopped on sooner

UPDATE posted this morning in Discord:
Update on the scheduled downtime: in the 11th hour we had a request from one of the platforms to recompile the build, so we need to do that. Downtime is on hold until that build is done. Will update when its complete, and hopefully take the downtime early tomorrow. TBD.
Also, I did a search on Daggers and what I see pre-patch notes is quite a few players asking for Daggers to be disabled due to them crashing the game (going back to at least last year), and post-patch notes a few players talking about it. Someone asked if they could just be disabled in PvP and New World said, "no, that's not something we have integrated into our systems, it would be a huge undertaking that we don't have the staff for."

Damn so this might be the last chance to ever check out daggers before the game closes

I really hope the devs at least left a little note explaining why daggers got the axe, was it balance issues or did someone just really hate the sound of steel swishing?

Honestly good on them actually working on the game till the end , don’t see anything wrong with that

maybe they do some improvements so there are more players, so they can sell the game for a better price.

Ah, sorry but if they had someone that wanted to buy it these changes wouldn’t do anything ha

Guess I should've leveled those daggers when they weren't useless, like back when the stun build was actually fun.

Wish they enabled holiday events, even if just reusing prior years like they usually did. The towns in their festive colors was always really nice.
