Modding Repair complete!

Post image

Bought a blinking red light NES to see if I could fix it and success! Luckily, it was just the 72-pin connector as usual. Boiled it, pulled the pins a bit, threw some DeoxIT in to clean up connections, and replaced the voltage regulator to fix some wavy lines in the background and now it's good to go!

The plan is to throw it in a new black transparent case, replace the caps, and add a PPU Digitizer mod when they come in. I'll keep this one as my main system and probably send the old family one to my brother after refurbishing it too.

Happy to get this NES up and running either way. Picked up Dragon Warrior 2 from eBay to celebrate, ha.

Thanks! It's my delegated test game since I keep getting them in game lots for whatever reason. I'm up to three and avoiding more until I trade these in or sell them. Lol

LOVE that thing. My parents have had the Commodore since the 80's and it was boxed up for years until they asked if I wanted it. The monitor just needed a little degaussing along with a small magnet added to fix one color spot in the upper left corner. The C64 itself was another story, but it's now good after replacing three chips and a power supply.

I grew up with the C64 as well, such an amazing computer! I still have most of our old game collection packed away!

Oh man, I played all my games growing up on this monitor, from C64 to PS1. loved it.
