Hi, everyone! I'm wondering if anyone else had this happen. A mystery requester gave me a significant bonus on October 5. I don't believe I was doing any work that would result in that (especially with the lack of HITs; and I stopped turking back in August). I stopped receiving bonus notifications from MTurk quite some time ago, so there's no way for me to know who sent this or what type of message might have been included. Did anyone else get a random bonus, and know who it's from? Thanks so much!

Is the Turkerview forum gone too, or is just down? I keep getting Cloudflare errors all day.

It's been almost 2 weeks since Mturk has shut down. How is everyone doing on the money front now that this source is gone? Have you found something reliable? Does it pay as well as Mturk did or better? Just curious to see how everyone is doing.

I moved to prolific and was pleasantly surprised with the transition and the pay. What I made on Mturk last month I made in less than a week on Prolific without really trying. I have several other platforms that I do daily so I'm not relying on one source, but Prolific has been an incredible experience so far. The tasks are very interesting and the pay is more than fair.

I had one in https://worker.mturk.com/earnings but it got so old it rolled off from showing there. Been waiting on support for a reply back for over two weeks.

You would think these researchers would honor a code and pay out. I had 2 last minute rejections from Maryanne Garry for psychological studies. Funny how I went all these years with barely any but suddenly got two in the last days of MTurk. That’s some shiesty shit.

Okay I had seen some people saying that their cash out had dropped to $5 after the $10's and I just cashed out my second $10 and now my new cash out level is $5.

Also I think today was the most hits I'd ever gotten (dbl digits) but when I need 5¢ more to reach the $10 I kept either getting a message that the hit had reached the number of people needed (I forget the actual drop down) and then tonight I would answer a few demographics and it would say--sorry you're not in the group we're looking for, we don't want to waste your time. Again, not exact wording but the jest of it.

So really just a little info for those wondering about the cash out $ amounts as you go forward.

After all these years, it feels strange and nostalgic to finally say goodbye to Amazon Mechanical Turk. Thought I stopped working about 4 years back but it was also an important chapter of my online working life, and I’m grateful for what it gave me.

Hey MTurkers, I wanted to know how you guys are earning after the changes/closure of MTurk. Is there any platform similar to MTurk where requesters post tasks or small jobs? I’m looking for something where I can earn some extra money by completing these kinds of tasks.

I signed up awhile ago but haven't seen any studies. Anyone else?

Just for fun, does anyone have any stragglers sitting in their dashboards that are probably going to limp along until the 30-day widow closes for auto approval?

I have this one that will surely go the distance, and I'm also holding onto a dime-store survey from 9-23 whose requester ostensibly had an average 2-day turnaround time in the past.

I'm sure someone here can beat that, though...

Anyone know where these guys are off to? I messaged with no response, but have done thousands upin thousands of their HITs and will really miss not doing them.

I just joined in June of 2025 and hustled nearly 2k HITs. i know compared to workers who were on for a decade it's not much, but i was enjoying it for the 2nd half of 2025. i did see and feel a decline, but i'm sure that decline was a lot earlier than when i joined!! what is the next side hustle?!

Several other large requesters and I have branched off to our own sites now. Seems like a less-than-ideal setup for workers, who now have to monitor task availability in all these new places.

I'm not very familiar with worker tools as far as which ones are popular and how they work. Were they all MTurk-only, or did they track multiple crowdwork sites? It wouldn't be hard for me to create an API endpoint for a tool to integrate with.

So I want to ask the community:
Requesters: would you add something similar?
Tool developers: would you build on it?
Workers: would you use it?

Mixed feelings because it was a great time on mturk but I couldn't achieve my target of 1 million approved hits.

Not nearly as much as many others are sharing, but it still helped out. I started during Covid.

Has anyone found any similar websites that have micro tasks like this? I would love to start a new account somewhere similar.

Over the last 12 years, 157,240 workers from 167 countries participated in the tracker’s demographic survey. Some answered once. Others kept coming back for a decade.

If you ever took one of those surveys, thank you. You helped document who was working on MTurk and how the community changed over time.

I really thought I'd be fine when it shutdown but I think I'm going through withdrawal. 15 years of busy work if I wanted it, free time when I didn't.

POS scum waited until the last moment, then rejected my submission from a week and a half ago. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
