I just went 7-1 with this crazy draft in the contender event and i gotta say after drafting rescue girl twice in a row in an esper deck it seems very strong. This one had insane combos with lichs relic and uldaros but also some incidental value with rats etc. seems like blue black really enables rescue girl

Hey, I’m looking for some draft guides for some older sets. I’m realizing it’s easy to find guides from opening week but I’m hoping to find some guides from the end of the draft rotation. Any suggestions?

Pretty new to limited, played this sealed deck, went with 16 land because pretty low curve, went with red black due to the removal.
Ended up 4-3 but hoping to get better, I'm pretty bad with mulliganing (I'll generally keep any hand with 2-4 lands), and I did misplay removal but don't think I would have won that anyway. In terms of how it played, probably needed more of a finisher?
Mostly looking for advice on how I should have built this better. Was RB even the right choice?

My lgs is hosting a sealed league : we play the pre-release and with that pool we play for several weeks with the next pre-release as a prize for first place, also every week e can buy a booster to improve our pool. We just opened the second booster and i played a selesnya lifegain deck that went 3-0.
I would like your opinion on my pool as if i should build something diferent or stick to the current lifegain plan.

Kind of funny situation here. I know the deck if fine but what are your alls opinion on the Pupperbeast here over Garruk? They're both good here. But which one is *better* you think?

Any advice is appreciated, Ajani was pack 2 p1. Started the draft with a bit of the self-mill strat + blue and black removal. The hexaven battalion is pretty much just here to be 2 mana find a land since I never secured proper duals. Any advice on a last cut on overall deck construction is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Do you think it's worth it? This is a high entry fee, high stakes events much like Arena Directs are, but unlike Arena Directs, the expected value of this event likely isn't worth it. At least, if money is all you're concerned with. However, this is also one of the few opportunities we really get to compete at a high level on Arena, and this event is the best way to do that, at least for people who are trying to get their foot in the door of the professional Magic scene. Will you be competing in this event, or is it not worth the price of entry?

OP had a life gain synergy with ajani + liliana + way of the healer + Rescue girl recursion. They were going to win.
I yolo’d and charged the sanctum. OP took it all to the face.
Shrug and took the W.

I'm running out of gems and gold, and my last draft I went 0-3, and in general not doing great. I'm having fun but not enough to dump a load more money into this? I've been watching videos of youtubers drafting and only doing one draft a night so I don't think im tilted or anything, is there a good way to train or anything?

Reality Fracture has me lacking confidence on any deck that looks 'fine'

This deck's looking great but I'm honestly stumped as to what 2 cards I should cut from this list

First picked splinter twin and the lane was so wide open. Pulled off a nice 7-1. Had to share.

Edit: Here is this as well, in case you're unsure what I mean by Reality Echoes draft
https://wpn.wizards.com/en/event/magic-presents-reality-echoes
• Start with Garruk if you can cast either half, Ajani for a red creature deck, or Kiora for an uncommon finisher. Fblthp is the cheaper uncommon option for a blue deck that can connect in combat.
• This is a pre-event shortlist, checked October 12, 2026. Reality Echoes begins October 16, so the reviewed evidence can’t establish which pair consistently wins this event.
• The set designer explains that counterparts were generally built for different Draft strategies. Take a complete pair for access to its best castable half, rather than force both colors because the names match.
• If the partner is off-color and uncastable, declining the optional shuffle keeps it out of your library. That avoids drawing a card your lands can’t cast after using the half you wanted.

Win a few games in a row, get to platinum, win a couple more, get paired with the 24th best player in the world somehow, win it regardless 💪 😎 😆

Some of my Reality Fracture grades have aged poorly 😅
Fblthp, Impossibly Lost: F → B
Twinned Vision: D− → B−
Protege’s Awakening: D → B−
The second grade is the current 17Lands GIH-win-rate letter grade. Interestingly, the expert consensus also had Fblthp at C−.
How is Fblthp, doing so well? The ceiling is a draw-two for 2 mana (pretty good, but not broken), the floor a two mana 1/1 (really bad). Help me see what I am missing.
I built mtgsimon.com to record card grades and compare them with expert reviews and 17Lands results (some people in this sub also used it). This screenshot is from my own ratings.
Which card were you most wrong about?
