I forgot a banana outside on the deck, and something chowed down on it. Then, all these moths decided they were interested too!

I don't really know anything about moths, just thought that was kinda cool.

Pale tussock, Calliteara pudibunda. The Netherlands.

This pretty little guy was crawling around on the ground bc we had a mild cold snap in the desert (tucson,az ) let it crawl on to my jacket and put it in a tree so it was safe.

Its been a good season this year for the pollinators!

Spotted in Cyprus (Eastern Mediterranean region)

A couple of the moth friends I've seen around lately. I think the yellow and black guy is a tiger moth? What about the other friend? Indiana for rough location. Thank you!

Found in Southwest Florida. That’s all 😁

ETA: I believe it is a hummingbird clearwing, let me know if I’m wrong!

He got a little stuck, but teamwork makes the dream work.

The unfurling of his wings is at 100x normal speed and was actually about an hour. The unfolding is only at 8x and was about 45 minutes after his unfurling finished.

Hi,
These photos were taken on my birthday, in my room at my parents’ house, where I was staying at the time…
I fricking love moths!!!
🤩 🤩 🤩 🤩 🤩

Location- South Island New Zealand 🇳🇿

I need to find out the name for a research project I'm doing. It's found throughout the Coastal Lomas System in Perú, this is specfically from Santuario de Amamcaes-Lima. It was no more than 2cm wide.

Not sure what it might be. North West Florida

Silver Y pupated in a very unfortunate spot. This was supposed to be a temporary enclosure until i clean out the proper one - he was super small compared to the other ones i had, i didnt expect him to pupate overnight. Anyways, should i move him? How do i care for him right now?

Also does anyone know how long hell be pupating for?

Madagascan Ghostly Silk Moth - female

I posted recently with my male silk moth, and a female has now emerged!

Been soooo fascinated in the colour and size differences between them both.

Hi friends, would love some help. I’m based in the Netherlands

I have some unwanted house guests and I’m trying to figure out what species. Could any ID them for me?

Found in Wichita Kansas
I believe the tan one is a corn earworm moth, but I’m unsure of the other one 😖

Hello. I tried to help this moth and I think I made things worse. It was in the hallway of my apartment complex (outdoor) chilling on the wall for a couple days. Today it fell or moved to the sidewalk and I moved it to a place in the shade by my door. She has no visible injuries to her wings but when she tried to walk it was very wobbly. I read online about giving them sugar water but I didn’t know what kind of moth it was until someone on TikTok told me they can’t drink. Anyways I put the sugar water on a q tip and she gripped it and then it looked like her leg got stuck in the water and fell off.. I feel gutted. I then moved her to the corner by my apartment door and I’m keeping an eye on her. I’m going to leave her alone now unless she moves to a place that she can be trampled.
I’m wondering how to tell if a moth is near the end of its life? Before her leg fell off she wasn’t moving and was tucking her head under herself and staying very still. I’m hoping she is near the end cause I don’t want her to suffer after I might have ripped her leg off.. idk I feel so bad!!!

Saw this this morning and thought it was very pretty, but I've never seen one like it before... wondered what I saw...

Thanks

Little cuties.

He’s a goober

Hi all! I came home and found this moth, it’s been pouring all day and it was on the sidewalk I thought it was dead and was going to keep it to pin it but when I picked it up, it moved its legs just a little. I put it on the window seal initially but it’s also wet and it’s getting cold outside. I brought it inside hoping it could dry itself but its legs have tucked under itself and it’s not moving but I don’t think it’s dead just yet. Will it recover? Or is it a goner? I’d like it help it if I’m able too
