Tenant's insurance.

My daughter is moving into her apartment (her first) in November. Any suggestions on a broker or insurer for tenant's insurance?

Thanks

Stay away from Western Financial… I had the most frustrating experience with them so I switched to Allstate and it was great, and cheap!!

Carnaghan Thorne in SJ is my broker for my Moncton apartment. They got me tenant's insurance through Pembridge, it's about $200/yr given my unit and coverage options.

gotoinsure.ca (they have an office on Main st). They'll quote from different insurers for you to chose from.

Check out Duuo, I needed tenant insurance temporarily for a couple of years and it was the easiest thing.

I’d say the best brokerage in the area is Jones Insurance

TD was the best I could find.

SE Mutual are good to work with and locally owned.

Apollo is the cheapest for tenant insurance. Never filed a claim with them so can’t vouch for that

Thanks. They all likely stretch a client's patience if you were to file a claim. Not having to file one is not a bad thing, that's for sure.

I use Westland. Good rate and fairly customisable. Haven't ever had to make a claim (and hope I never have to) so can't speak to that process.

I’d stay away from Westland. They go through employees like I go through underwear
