Discussion How far can we push Minecraft Vanilla ?

Completely mod-free

This project started as a challenge: to see how far Minecraft can be pushed while staying completely within the game itself.

Drake’s mansion, designed by Ferris Rafauli, was recreated with an extreme level of detail using only custom display entities, without any mods or external tools.

Shaders and texture packs were used solely to enhance the visual atmosphere and highlight lighting and materials, but every architectural element was built in pure Minecraft.

The goal wasn’t just to replicate a real-life house, but to show that Minecraft can go far beyond what it’s known for — becoming a tool capable of creating highly detailed, almost realistic visual experiences.

The result is a build that blurs the line between video game and digital creation, pushing Minecraft to a level rarely seen before.

For some reason I cant enter my own aternos server. It's saying I'm not invited even though my allowlist is turned off and even turned on cracked even though I have the paid mobile version of bedrock.

And yes I made sure the server is bedrock and that the game is updated. I tried looking up solutions but nothing has helped so far

Help Bedrock Finding Ancient City

• Upvotes

I’m currently trying to find an ancient city in my world and I’ve only been able to find portions of deep dark biomes that have some sculk sensors and shriekers. But, I can never find the actual city. Is there any tips or tricks I could use to make finding it easier? Also, I don’t want to use a seed tracker or anything of that sort. I want to find it on my own. Any advice or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Edit: I’m on bedrock

Discussion New map feature makes loadstones obsolete

Post image
• Upvotes

This new map feature is great. It points to the center of the map when you’re outside of it. But it serves the same function as a loadstone. It’s not as precise as a loadstone. Loadstones will point a compass to one block versus an entire map area. But with the banner trick you can have multiple points of interest in one map and it’ll point to it if you’re outside the map. If you’re inside, just go to the banner.

Discussion Do you think Primus will fit as a composer for some of Minecraft’s songs?

• Upvotes

I was relistening the songs from the album Talef From The Punchbowl and I must admit, that some songs from there could really fit Minecraft, but won’t it also be cool if they wrote something their style for Minecraft?

Suggestion Updating an old world (Using Modrinth)

• Upvotes

So the story begins...

Started world in early 2012, currently it is in version 1.21.10 because I can't move it forward without crashing it.

I'm using Modrinth as the client.

Latest playable version has been using a modpack called TVE (The Vanilla Experience) and other mods for ease of use but kept within the Vanilla boundaries for item/blocks with the exception of possibly the following:

Armored Elytra (combines a chestplate and Elytra)

Chopper Chunk Loader (loader is built using vanilla items)

Dungeons and Taverns (adds new enchantment books/gear, haven't used the books but are in chests at spawn and within the world where I haven't touched them)

Friends and Foes (because I wanted the unpopular mobs and their drops, haven't used the items and again any items are in a chest at spawn)

Gilded Armor (use because I can't be bothered dealing with the Piglins, it's my world, my rules lol)

Illager Invasion (new items and gear, don't use them but discovered items are in chests at spawn or untouched)

I have the Incendium Legacy installed to reset my Nether, explored but don't like the chunk generation. Pretty sure can reset that by removing mod and reset Nether. Happy to do so but it is updated to latest version.

Otherwise there isn't anything that breaks the vanilla game, but I can't move from 1.21.10 without crashes from mod issues. I go through the reports and do what I can but can't get this world to move on post 1.21.10 but struggle. Even after it doesn't work, going back is met with challenges.

I thought using Modrinth was supposed to make transitions through versions easy. I'm don't have enough patience to continue reading through crash files. I make sure that all mods are ready for the version but still dealing with crashes.

Any advice, tips on how to simplify the crash report fixes.

Discussion New zombie type made me think

Post image
0 Upvotes

With the addition of the new frostbite zombie variant, I came up with names of the last two variants to complete this list, the swamped, for the zombie, and the sunken, for the skeleton, the swamped is straightforward, applies poison but doesn’t do any real harm, therefore in a giant mass of these, you can’t die only taking poison damage, but the sunken is more complicated, since they’re skeletons who drown, their bows would be useless, so either give them tridents naturally/ lose the bow and become melee mobs, give them a whole new weapon, or let them keep the bows and the that’s their trade off, honestly I think the trident idea is fine, they spawn having the same odds as drowns do for having tridents otherwise just have no weapon at all and they can also spawn riding nautilus or dolphins (the jockey equivalent), if theirs any other ideas yall have let me know

Discussion What keeps you playing Minecraft even after all these years?

I've been thinking about what makes Minecraft so special compared to other games.

You can start a new survival world, build a huge base, explore caves, or just spend hours doing random things without really having a specific goal.

For me, one of the best feelings is starting with absolutely nothing and slowly turning a world into something that feels like home.

I'm curious about you guys:

What keeps you coming back to Minecraft, and what's your favourite thing to do in a survival world?

I'd love to hear your stories!

Discussion THEORY/LORE: Ancient City "Camp" is a sacrificial site

The structure in the bottom right of the image is called a "Camp" on the wiki files. I was dismantling an ancient city while stumbling upon one of these structures. At the time, I had no idea that it was supposed to be a camp, so I took it at face value and the clues I got from the structure made me believe it was something far worse...

The wool is in the colors of steve's clothes; the blue pants with the light blue shirt. So the first thing I thought was; this is a pile of clothes. As I removed the wool, I discovered wooden logs and... a campfire. At this point, I figured; Is this supposed to be a pyre? Did they pile the bodies of the people that were attacked by the warden here with plans to burn them?

But then it got even worse; I discovered a stone table. Not wooden, but stone, like an altar. Did the people who used to live in the ancient city sacrifice citizens to appease the warden, in the hopes that it'd leave them alone? Did they sacrifice so many people towards the end that there were too many bodies to burn? Is all that wool, in fact, bodies?

When you strip the structure of the wool and wood, you're left with a stone 'table' on top of a raised dais... There's no reason to go through the effort of creating a raised stone platform just to put a tent on top. This whole build screamed 'sacrificial altar' to me, until a friend told me that was a rather dark interpretation of the 'camp'. It's a lot of wool for a tent, and why is the tent in the colors of steve's clothes?

Thusfar my theory of this particular structure inside the ancient city. Did anyone come to the same conclusion as me?

Help Looking for an old Minecraft animated music video (Steve & Alex stuck in a time loop)

Hi everyone, I'm trying to find an old 3D Minecraft animated music video (approx. 3–5 minutes long) from around 2015–2020.

Here are the exact details I remember:

  • Music: A calm, adventurous song with a male vocalist in English. Near the end, there is a distinct clock ticking / tick-tock audio effect.
  • Beginning: Starts with Steve chopping a tree, and he meets Alex.
  • The House: They build a nice 2-story house made of white wool and dark oak wood. They have armor stands where they equip mixed iron and diamond armor pieces (boots and chestplate).
  • The Mine & The End: They happily ride a minecart together into a cave and then go to the End.
  • Climax & Ending: In the End, an Enderman mentally traps/controls Steve (we see Steve's POV as his hearts drop) while Alex desperately runs to save him. Surrounded, they jump into the void, the music/ticking sound abruptly stops, and the world resets right back to the beginning where Steve hits the tree for the final blow and meets Alex again.

Any help finding the video or the song name would be greatly appreciated!
