It's not hard. But people just don't care anymore. So few care to bother to learn what apostrophes do, or the difference between too, to, and two, or all the other words that are similar. They insist that as long as they're understood, that's good enough for them.
It's going to suck when all of our world leaders are borderline illiterate monkeys who rely upon ChatGPT for all of their policies and public speeches.
That is exactly the attitude that is causing the downfall. If you can't be bothered with the little things, what's to say that you'll care about the more important things? Plus, you're putting out something that is available to the entire world. Do you really want the entire world to see just how lazy and uneducated you are?
I remember when we used to be called grammar nazis for correcting people's grammar. Corrections used to be so common that it became annoying. Now I rarely see them.
You only see them in arguments now. It’s the crux of someone wanting to continue an argument but not actually respond to the actual argument of what they’re replying to. It’s been a mainstay tactic since the early days though lol.
Former grammar fascist here! I grew up and realized that it was likely 1 of 4 possibilities: A. a simple typo, B. English is not their first language, C. they have some disability, such as dyslexia, or D. they simply can't be arsed; never have and never will.
In any event, I was wasting my time, so I stopped.
I enjoy words, spelling, and grammar, but not everyone does, and that's OK!
Im sorry some stranger didnt spend extra time and care to cater your content to your liking. Its Reddit. Find something that matters to care about. You shouldn't be on here anyway. Its a giant waste of time and energy. Yes I understand the irony here.
