Grind a fine U-shape into the lid base and find a thin enough oring that fits the groove with a lower hardness rating, lil dab of bonding on the very bottom of the U in a few spots, and that's about it. Won't hold any pressure but at least won't leak while washing your hands. You might have until you open and close it a couple hundred times before needing to rebond or replace the oring.
Also make sure whatever metal the ring is made of isn't toxic to leech into any meds stored. Takes the name poison ring to even further
do a pill bottle keychain, and attach it to your keys/wallet/ whatever you dont leave the house without. i had a necklace, and i forgot the necklace regularly. haven't forgot my wallet in years!
My picks for each ring: Acetaminophen, ibuprofen, naproxen, loperamide, aspirin...
Diphenhydramine, caffeine, meclizine, guaifenesin, and loratadine. Rate my setup.
A bracelet version big enough to hold a Ubrelvy, maybe? I’d kill for a way to keep even one of those pills on me at all times. Real shame they gotta be kept refrigerated (at least the ones I take)
Wait, no you’re right, I just checked the packaging supposed to be stored at room-temperature??? Holy shit what miscommunication happened that I’ve been keeping it in the fridge this whole time???
Thanks for making me check, wtf where did I get that idea
As a migraine person myself, does sumatriptan work for anyone here? It makes mine worse and I throw up every time (even with the anti nausea medication).
Ive heard horror stories about sumatriptan and even though I was prescribed it, I was too afraid to try it. However, I had a migraine so bad while I was at my parents, I was willing to take anything. They didnt have sumatriptan there, but they had rizatriptan. I tried that and it worked absolute wonders for me. I am now prescribed that and take it all the time. A little too often if im being honest
My partner started to get debilitating migraines daily once the triptan wore off from the day before. It's magic but definitely has side effects if you get into an every day stretch of migraines and your body becomes dependent on it. And eventually the triptan doesn't work as well. Just a word of caution!
Absolutely! This happens to me as well, they usually are less intense than the inital for me though. I also get some upper back stiffness after taking it
These are called rebound headaches. Basically your body freaks out from overuse of your migraine meds that it becomes so dependent any day without your migraine med you’ll get them.
It’s like ppl who are caffeine addicts who get withdrawal headaches when they don’t have any caffeine in their system.
Anyways I work at a pharmacy for a pretty big hospital health care system the doctors monitor this a lot they limit you to taking no more than 9 doses of a triptan in a month & if you go over that they refer you to a specialist in neurology where they put you on prophylactic preventative medication like propranolol or nortriptyline
Sumatriptan works for me most of the time, but the side effects are pretty crappy. I feel nauseous for hours afterward, and I get kind of a brain fog. Usually if I take one I immediately go try to fall asleep so I don't have to be awake for the worst of it. The shots were way better when I could get them, I would inject it and actually feel the moment the migraine melted away. The nausea was more acute, but it also went away faster.
But honestly, it was a lifesaver for me as a teenager. I was getting migraines every day, and this was back in the 90s so my doctor basically threw opiates at me and told me to sleep it off. Then Imitrex was released, and it was expensive, but it actually worked. Now they have better medications, but I always keep a few sumatriptan on hand as a last resort.
Most migraine meds make all the pressure come to a focal point on the bridge of my nose (I know it sounds weird), and it’s excruciating. Only thing that doesn’t make it hurt worse is if I take a Nurtec as soon as I notice symptoms
I find the excederin migraine pills work pretty well if I catch it early in the vision loss phase. They’re like 400 ibuprofen and 400 advil and a bit of caffeine
Rizatriptan works like magic for me. It takes 1+ hour to work usually, and I still feel sleepy most of the day but so much better than it used to be without it.
It works if I have an aura and take it immediately…but…sometimes I don’t have the aura and other times I do and it’s silent (no pain but still neuro symptoms)
I take an emgality shot every month. It prevents 90% of my migraines and headaches. And the ones I do get are nowhere near as bad or long lasting as they used to be
I used to use a metal container for my hydroxyzine (to have on me for allergic reactions) and, unfortunately, it kind of powders it over time if it's in there too long. That was a keychain -- I think a ring would be even worse since your hands move so much. (Swapped to plastic, seems fine so far)
I’m literally on Etsy looking these up to do this exact thing! I’m always carrying my pill case everywhere, this would make it easier to leave a purse at home if I want to.

I think everyone with migraines would love one of these, I'd put my triptans in there
