When the enshittification of AI comes, you're going to wish you'd learned how to think (not you, but people using AI to do tasks they should be putting thought into). LLMs have cost too much not to need to be heavily monetised, and soon, and that's the issue (as well as the environmental one) that no one seems to be worrying about.
The good thing is that we can host pretty good models on our own then. The really big problem is the AI boom will leave behind a wasteland of AI slop and dead sources of useful information I'm afraid. Like all the AI summaries are convenient as fuck, until what it summarizes is dead because it ain't getting organic traffic anymore.
