Unskippable ad The most blatantly obvious Amazon Prime ad I’ve ever seen right in the middle of my show

The worst I've ever seen was on "Bones," where it was a straight-up commercial for her van (I think it might have been a Toyota Sienna) including tight shots of various elements of the car combined with the character of Angela spouting off marketing speak.

You guys aint seen nothing yet.

In Chinese TV, they literally will interrupt the show to bring you an endorsement with the actors playing out a canned scene for the actual product like it aint no thing. Literally Truman show style but 100x stronger, better, sleeker. LONGER.

They had an episode that centered around the two techs wanting to see Avatar. I thought it was so gross that i never saw any of the movies

I thought that one worked well, because the actor who plays one of the techs has a large supporting role in Avatar. In the Bones episode he misses the movie because he’s boning someone in a tent outside or something.

People bone in Bones? I thought it was just subtle wordplay about dead people

It’s not the focus of the show but it does happen. Even Bones bones.

There were several in Bones. So ham fisted and cringeworthy, even as a complete Toyota Stan.

I couldn't find the video for the minivan but I did find this.

I don't know which scene you were thinking of but I distinctly remember one where Angela and/or Jack were driving something (probably that damn minivan) and worked in how roomy the trunk space was and maybe even the bluetooth (???) It was shameless. I think that might have been my breaking point.

Bones had characters spouting Toyota ad copy on numerous occasions.

Remember the Prius one, where she had a whole scene about it parking itself (with Booth being so impressed and how she was saving the plant by not using gas?

In the Walking Dead they used a Hyaundai Tuscon for like three seasons. It never had dents and was always clean!

It's the apocalypse, you need a rugged car you can drive everywhere, not a lime green compact SUV.

There was an identical scene in "House" in a later season that did that

There were sooooo many Toyota commercials in Bones, it was so badly slotted in there too. I just recently did a binge of the entire show and I started recording them and sending them to my husband. Or if he was home then I would call him into the room to watch it. I'm pretty sure you could make a drinking game out of it

reminds me of Heroes when Hiro Nakamura would constantly plug the Nissan Versa, haha (him specifically driving one and nothing else was an actual plot point of the show as well)

I was going to comment this. Didn't all the characters drive the same brand in that episode or something?
