Unskippable ad The most blatantly obvious Amazon Prime ad I’ve ever seen right in the middle of my show

There's a woman on tiktok doing a series right now on the most blatant ads in tv shows of all time. It's been really eye opening how bad some of them are. Who's watching these shows?

Some of them are hilarious. Bones did little car commercials sometimes, and many were dumb, but there was one where they stole a dead body and were like this car has lots of room for the body!

I vaguely recall one of the Bones car ads where they're geeking out over... like a rear-view parking camera? Like, oh, this is novel and neat. Something that wasn't terribly standard at the time, I think. If it wasn't for a specific product I could've seen it not being so obtrusive.

My favorite is Brennan getting really smug about having GPS, and bragging that it will get her somewhere an hour away in 30 minutes, and Angela being like “It’s a gps, not a time machine.”

I remember in that same episode one of the characters mentions the dead guy gave her a ride to work when her car was in the shop when a couple episodes earlier she had her own car commercial scene. I know cars need maintenance but I got the impression her car broke down.

I mean, they tend to be put into very popular, mainstream shows because it's not really worth it otherwise. So if it's a show you already watch and enjoy, you probably won't stop watching just for these ads even though they're annoying and off-putting.

Yeah there's probably a ton in some shows that I've watched and just haven't noticed or cared

I'd stop watching because I'm nothing if not spiteful towards corporations

I dunno I watch a lot of Apple TV shows, because they’re good. But the product placement is super obvious. Unless it’s a villain using a tracking device. Then suddenly they use android and aren’t using AirTags lol

My recent favorite was an apple vision headset in a black mirror episode I watched last month. I recognized the guy was using some vr set, but actually laughed out loud when he pressed the button that displays eyes on the outer screen

Fringe was the GOAT for this but the show was good. Whatever kept the lights on

I honestly don't remember this in Fringe because it was so good.

Community got both Honda and Subway in there in an honestly entertaining way that I'm surprised the brands allowed.
