Just came to leave this comment. It was an ad that generously also gave a few minutes of screentime to non-amazon things.

Didn't the creators of that try to say that it wasn't written as an ad?

"So, the Amazon delivery drone has crashed, but there's some random guy who can help! What should our characters bribe him with?"

"An Amazon gift card?"

"Of course! I know that's I would want when the end of the world is happening!"

the amazon gift card to the homeless man as a reward for helping them save the world will go down in history as one of the 10 stupidest movie moments (category: intended to be serious) of the 21st century.

but no of course it wasnt an ad, they just had the amazon delivery driver wear his uniform the whole time and say amazon 1000 times while saves the world just for funsies

Image of said driver and movie, for others who have not been victimized by watching it:
(edited to add: if you're going to watch it, which I strongly advise against, watch it by some other means than by giving amazon another view)

What I live about this shot is that is shows the horror of a surveillance state that real Amazon workers live under. By far the scariest part of the film.

Haven't seen the movie but it's a shame because he was a decent actor in The 100.

To think this is the same studio that did Project Hail Mary.

Not just help, but risk his life which he does for the gift card, and judging by the line of fire after the drone gets sorted promptly got vaporised for.

I haven't laughed that hard at a movie line in years.

You mean the screentime they gave to Microsoft Teams calls? I love hearing my work messenger during a movie. /s

People made it through more than four minutes of that? Because that’s about the time I bailed.

That's it, that's pretty much the whole movie

Or the original Sonic movie.

I think they toned it down some but there was so much product placement in the Sonic movie.

If they haven't, they should. It's horrible. Maybe the worst movie I've ever seen. But man I suggest it to every one of my friends.

Instantly thought of this one. Amazon Prime saving the world was not a plotline I ever expected to see in a feature length film starring 90s hip hop legend Ice Cube...

I shut that movie off and thumb-downed so fast

Or Evolution with its head and shoulders ad.
