When I was in middle school, one of my parents form of ā€œpunishmentā€ was making me wear the same outfit, every day for a whole week to school. Humiliation was the tool here. Obviously I snuck clothes and changed on the street or at school. But I wouldn’t have wanted people seeing me walk around with my extra clothes. Point is, there’s always something weird going on in people’s lives they don’t want shared, kids especially! This isn’t just taking privacy, it’s taking dignity away.

I’m sorry your parents bullied you and you had to live through that. It must have been tough. I’m glad you were able to figure out a way around it. Brilliant!

I agree about privacy. Kiddos can’t respect privacy if they’re not afforded it.

Also, adults don’t stay off their phones. How can we expect kiddos to do it? Are we just preparing for a tighter police state in society? Tech isn’t going away. We have to evolve with it, figure out how to learn with it. Enforcing prison type rules on our youth isn’t the way.

Yeah. But we should think of the kids safety. I mean what if someone brought a howitzer to school. We dont want them hiding such a dangerous tool in their packpack!
