Note: this post is not intended to be offensive or culturally blind. I do deliveries for a few services and recently had a delivery from a Chinese restaurant to Taco Bell. I understand that a lot of taco places are called tex-mex because a lot of food is not traditional food from that country.
1) why is Chinese food served in the US not called ameri-chi?
2) why is any cultural food not given the same nomenclature?

We know that a large part of the triad gets their entertainment from "earth portal" because the Ted's push it as a means of "at least we aren't as bad as earth" to placate them into accepting Ted rule. In episode 40 on planet Romney, David finds maloo and while talking with her(?) that she likes "a TV show about people on an island". David assumes "lost" but then maloo talks as an analogy to the refugees of Gillian's island. In young Leif, Bertbert talks to Leif about this show she was into with George clooney and is appalled about us using aed(shocking) someone back into rhythm. This show is obviously "er." Harsteen is interviewing "even older Leif" in a talk show style.
In young Leif, we hear whela translate leif's expressions into sigian for fagin and she gives him the story of people breaking an oar to find themselves or rediscover meaning. One last thing is Bertbert and young sigians recite a pledge of sorts in sigian.
I bring up all these examples to ask a few questions.
1) TV in Canada and America has stations like Telemundo and an all French station, is there an all sigian or all septsuian language station despite most aliens we meet speak English?
2) super sentai was a Japanese show that spawned power rangers with redubbing and recontextualized scenes for the American audience, do we think that there are similar things in the triad?
3) with everyone carrying a tangle, is there a written record that can't be changed in the coalition languages
4) given the heavy influence of earth culture, how much is lost of old customs and holidays?
5) is there a coalition Hollywood creating propaganda movies against Ted rule?

hi all! I’m a big fan of Midnight Burger and have been for a while now, constantly relistening to episodes and whole seasons and such, but for some reason I’ve never gotten into the other shows (Welcome to the Horizon, Young Lief). I’ve tried listening to them a couple of times but maybe it’s because I’m so attached to the original midnight burger crew that I just couldn’t get into them. Anyways, the reason why I bring this all up is because I just listened to the 5th season and holy shit the way I screamed when I realized that the town the Horizon is in joined the fight in the second to last episode! I kept being like “wdym a mountain has just shown up to the fight” and then it was revealed that it was the town the Horizon is in— I had to pause the show and literally take a breather. What a wild ride.

I just had a thought and I don't know where else I can share it. I think I realised that two of my favourite fictional universes (Midnight Burger and Destiny) share a certain worldbuilding motif.
In the latest season of MB (spoilers ahead, of course) we learned from Meesock that in the beginning of the universe, there were three beings: Meesock himself, who "just wanted to make things", Krok, who "fell in love with the universe" and wanted to preserve it the way that it was, in stasis, forever, and Tirok, who was "driven mad" by the universe and its complexity and swore to "grind it back into nothingness".
I feel like there is a strong parallel to the creation myth of Destiny, and the lore behind the main villain of its main 10-year saga. In Destiny's lore, in the beginning, there were two abstract beings: the Gardener and the Winnower. The Gardener was driven by a desire to create and to enact change, while the Winnower sought to "reduce the complexity" of the universe down to the strongest, most basic and comprehensible shape possible (basically, a triangle).
In their conflict, from the ashes of an ancient civilisation, rose another power - the Witness, which was at first was believed to be an avatar of the Winnower but was in fact an aligned, but separate entity. The Witness sought to preserve the universe in something it called a "final shape", a still state of existence, devoid of entropy.
In Midnight Burger, Meesock travels the universe, creating things without much regard for their future and impact on reality itself. He also (as much as I love the character) is a bit of an absent god, birthing a whole sapient species as a "sounding board" but going on to abandon them out of forgetfulness, "taking no credit" for the civilisation they'd built in the meantime and dismissing them as "temporally locked intelligences".
Similarly, the Gardener (through its avatar, the Traveller) has elevated multiple sapient species, granting them longevity and immense technological advancements, without much of a regard for what happens when it eventually leaves them. This left entire civilisations broken and vengeful.
Both Krok and the Witness wanted to preserve the universe in a state of entropy. Admittedly, they have different reasons: Krok "fell in love with the universe", while the Witness wanted to put an end to suffering (which he believed was caused by both the natural order and the changes brought into it by the Gardener). Also, they were both defeated in some of the latest instalments of the two franchises.
Finally, the Winnower and Tirok both seek to reduce the universe to (basically) nothing. They also have not (yet) interacted much with the rest of the characters in their respective universes. We've yet to meet Tirok in MB, and we've only had a few vague monologues from the Winnower in Destiny.
I guess what I'm saying is, both in one great space fantasy story and the other, I hope we'll get a chance to meet our villains and see how the different storytellers of these two universes see the resolution of this universal conflict between creation, stasis and destruction.

If Meesock was mention a while back and was revealed as one of the most powerful beings in Midnight Burger....
And If the first episode, the first alien planet that Gloria visited was in Krocks Galaxy.....
Then Chuck is........he probably has been watching the whole time and probably have killed many Clementines before Midnight Burger's or after.

SEASON FOUR SPOILERS ON THE LAST IMAGE
I made this tiny diner for the Cube Warper modpack, which lets you warp a structure from dimension to dimension, it really reminded me of the diner, so I got to work :3
The exterior itself was based on the tiny diner itself (caoimhepaigemodelmaker on insta) and on the two other minecraft builds I could find on here, so a huge shout out to those! For the exterior I tried to keep as much of the parking lot as I could, but it kept shrinking due to my limited amount of space,
also because of the lack of space I had to cut out the deep freeze, bathroom, and walk in pantry, if only immersive portals worked throughout multiple dimensions </3
Making Ava's booth was pretty fun, putting papers on the walls and pencils (candles) nearby was a nice touch, pretty much every tiny item you see is named after a reference, I just have the ui turned off (you can even see the pencils Caspar got!)
Gloria's room was my favorite thing to make, I just crammed in lots of paintings, then, with the remaining space I put item frames with references to the first ten or so episodes, because she wanted to put more pictures and reminders of the places she has been
The kitchen is kind of rough, since its made to be mostly usable as a tiny create workstation, but I tried to make it look mostly nice!
The roof, honestly the hardest part, so much open space with no clear indication about what is up there compared to most other things, I just filled it with a lot of tech that was in the modpack, and I even added a >!tiny peter!!<

Anybody know what authors write like Joe? I'm looking for some fiction with the same style of not spoonfeeding a narrative... just unraveling a story over time, tying the pieces together with good emotional intelligence. I'm kinda emotionally autistic, and am learning so much about understanding people by listening to MB, but I need to find some print authors. Thx

Just a random thought. Am I the only one who thinks Joe Fisher sounds very similar to Justin Mcelroy? Especially when I first started listening I couldn’t unhear it

Hello everyone i have been listening to the podcast for a while now and it is everything hollywood movies can't be. I noticed the names at the end are becoming their own show, which means that we have a solid community. My request is; could someone please be kind enough to explain the Bethany Wars and how they came to be, please. what the origin story?.

Hey all, just started posting here because just caught up to 56. I wonder if Joe Fisher and crew have a way of classifying all the Earths (like in Rick and Morty). Here is a brief list of Earths, I might be missing one or two.
Earth where everything was advertising.
Earth where Clementine and Tarek of York are from. (also, I think this is Hood's Pocket earth Prime) This is also the Mall of America Earth and the Earth of Schrodenger's Asteroid of Doom.
Earth where Passadena David is from. (this one will be important because of the end of 56)
earth where X got trapped in a river.
Earth where X has two sisters.
Earth where Tycho Brahe is from. (not sure if this is original Earth where all of them are from or not)
Earth where the gang are all newscasters. (don't think this is Clementine's world but it could be?)

i started midnight burger a couple weeks ago and i just want to say clementine is one the most infuriating characters ive ever encountered in fiction. she is just a child throwing a temper tantrum. i don’t think ive hated a character this much in a long time.

Midnight Burger donated two Sheeps Eye Roadhouse glasses, two Fangs Out tumblers, and five posters to our Little Theatre of Walla Walla fundraiser. They're included in our Podcast Fan Bundle.
To be clear, this is a mixed lot: the winning bidder also receives And That's Why We Drink cups, clothing, and other merchandise. The listing shows what comes together; the Midnight Burger items aren't being auctioned separately.
I help organize Wine, Dine & Death. Here's the bundle with photos and bidding details. The auction's scheduled closing date is October 10, 2026. Participation is online; please check the item terms.

This isn't constructive or worth anything really, just a rant. If it means anything, my name can be skipped, I don't mind.
