UMP midi2 monitor
I've found this simple midi2 monitor for windows...
I was searching for something like this for months. Its really basic but does the job.
I made Jamphony, a multiplayer MIDI site where you can jam with others
Hi everyone,
I've spent a lot of time on multiplayer piano/MIDI sites like PianoRhythm, MultiplayerPiano, Pianoverse, and MultiplayerOrchestra. They are great fun, but I feel they fall short because people almost always end up playing AT each other instead of playing WITH each other.
I made Jamphony to try and fix that and encourage jamming. It supports your MIDI controllers, note input from your computer keyboard, and you can click notes with your mouse.
Rooms are designed to hopefully avoid a free for all situation. There are a limited number of seats so if you're spectating and there is an open seat, you can sit down pick from piano and orchestra instruments. Room hosts can limit how many players can use a specific sound at once. You could limit the room to only two instruments per player for example, so then 5 people won't be on Marimba. If a sound you want is taken, there's a button to request an instrument swap with another seated player.
Also to help people play together, we calculate the chord you are currently playing from your notes and display it on screen to help others follow. Hosts can also use the Next Chord feature, which uses reserved keys they can press to shape out a chord and help direct the rest of the room to it in a progression.
I also wanted to deal with the spam players that usually plague the other sites. Every user has a "reputation" on their profile based on thumbs up/down from other players. As a room host, you can set a min reputation needed to sit down (unless you invite them on purpose). Guests who haven't logged in can still chat and play, but hosts can choose to disable that from their rooms if wanted.
The site launched recently so I'm mostly looking for testing and feedback right now. If you decide to make an account, you can leave feedback for me directly through the settings menu, or dropping feedback in this comments is good too! I am also very interested in hearing feature ideas or improvements to existing features.

Thanks!

Is Synthesia good as a Midi Player for android?
Hi i've been looking for a good midi tool to arrange midi files to/compose my own songs. Most Android apps are pretty lacking but I have seen alot of people use Synthesia but I assume from its computer counterpart. Is its Android port any good? Or is there any good Android based music programs that i'm missing?

Gojira DSP + VST Live + Ampero control MIDI + Windows MIDI BLE

Big Idea Involving motion sensing
Hello!
I have an oppurtunity to potentially collaborate with a local research center to create music with their animals. My idea is to use a camera and motion-tracking software to trigger midi signals that correspond with the animals movement in their enclosures, that then run into my Ableton, triggering different instruments.
Not sure how figure identification would work, I don't want other things in their enclosures like leaves moving in the breeze to interfere.
Wanting to know the best way to go about this and any and all ideas, I am a long-time ableton user but have never done something like this before and am so excited about the potential project. Thanks!!!
P.S. the animals are lemurs

Does anyone have recent experience ordering a TEC Breath and Bite Controller 2 in the US?
Just wondering how hard I might be hit by the glorious American duties and processing fees.

MP3 to MIDI converter
Sometime you may find somebody playing a beautiful piano on YouTube but they don't provide sheet music. Is it possible to convert an MP3 (this part is easy to get) to a MIDI file which makes an accurate conversion. I tries some online converter but it makes too many mistakes so it is hard to make sense of the notes. I don't expect it to make perfect sheet music divided by hands but an accurate notes recognition could make it possible to get an idea about the music, harmony etc.
Thank you in advance.

Web MIDI editor for the Akai MPK Mini Play mk3
Hi,
If you own an Akai MPK Mini Play mk3, you probably know that managing your 8 onboard Favorites normally requires closed-source desktop software.
To make managing presets quicker and platform-independent, I built a lightweight, open-source Web MIDI editor. Zero installation: Runs entirely in the browser:

MIDI controller with easily switchable scenes or templates?
I'm looking for a MIDI controller with 37 keys, 16 pads, sliders/knobs/etc. that can be easily switched between scenes / templates to control multiple devices.
What I'd like is to be able to save pad/knob/slider CC messages per channel so I can switch channels to control different devices and have the other controllers correctly mapped to the device.
Currently, I've got a FLKey 2 and a MiniLab 3, but neither can appear to do what I want.
Is my MIDI keyboard defective or is this a software issue? (Akai MPK Mini IV on Linux / LMMS)
Hi all, I'm new to this. I'm using an Akai MPK Mini IV on Linux with LMMS.
If I press any keys before setting up the MIDI input in LMMS, the keyboard stops responding completely. The only way to fix it is to reconnect the USB cable and select the MIDI input before touching any keys.
Could my keyboard be defective, or is this a Linux/LMMS driver/setup issue?

Can I learn to play piano with a MIDI keyboard?
Hello, I would like to learn playing and I looking for a keyboard to help me get started. I hope to connect it to a computer so I could see some sheet music, cords notation, the keys which I need to use etc. What should I know about keyboards and software for it?
I added this after the initial post:
First I need explain in more details on my objectives. I did not explain in full at the initial post since I got a bad experience with Reddit - I spent a lot of efforts with other subreddits to type my post to later find out that I am not qualifies to post on that thread because I am new on Reddit. Fortunately, my questions was posted here.
About my goals: I can somewhat play, I can read sheet music to certain degree etc. However, I did not play for 20 years and I want to get back to it. My goal is to play by ear. I am looking for a technology to help. I hope to be able to get a computer connected to a keyboard and see the music notation in sinch with me playing. Sometimes to speed things up I hope to see the keys which I need to push to get a complicated cord, to transpose a melody to a different key etc.
I currently have Kawai ES1 and Alesis Virtue ASP1. I am pretty happy with the older Kawai with the key actions but it does not have good MIDI port. As far as I understand Alesis has the right MIDI but the key action is not the best.
The main concern for me is using technology. After all the search I was trying to figure out what actually I need using AI and google search I got more confused. I hope to find a free software which can be useful to show notation for a MIDI files which I can download form the interned of use a a MP4 to MIDI converter to practice music which I can find of Youtube if sheet music is not available and at the same time to get a better way to comprehend the sheet music since despite I "can read it" it take me a lot of efforts to decipher it.
Thank you in advance

Nord Stage 4, Yamaha Modx M7, and MPC One+
Hello all,
I’m a new NS4 HA73 owner, and love getting to know it. I’m a keyboard player in an r&b band (where I am the music director), and I also play keys or piano in a jazz ensemble. I use the modx for gigging because it is so light and easy to carry, though as I fall in love with the NS4, I find myself considering switching to it for gigging. But I digress.
I’m just starting to think about how I can connect these two keyboards, one as a controller perhaps?, and use the mpc almost like a drum machine and play over it. For now this is something I’d do at home and just to play around and note I do have a small Yamaha mixer. Perhaps if this became something I could get good at, I would consider some solo performances as a sort of novelty act. I’ve considered adding a looper that can take keyboard input, but perhaps the mpc can do that?
So my question to the group is what kind of fun creative ideas does this bring up for you? What can you imagine doing with this kind of equipment and setup? How would you connect them?

Genio Essence Midi capability
I'm about to buy a second hand piano that has a Genio Essence piano silencer system built in. I really want to have MIDI functionality to be able to hook it up to my DAW.
I can't find information on how to connect this device. It has a USB-A port, and some data sheets say there is an Optional MIDI converter.
I have a cheap USB-MIDI cable that I used for my old keyboard. USB plugs into the PC, the MIDI DIN connector plugs into the keyboard. But can I also use this converter voor this Genio Essence?
I would say that the PC is the USB host, not the Genio.
Does anyone have advice or experience regarding this?

MIDI controlling iPad
Hey guys,
I have an Ampero Control I use to switch programs in my guitar multi effects. I’m also wondering if I can connect it via Bluetooth and send a midi message to my iPad to scroll down and up my sheet music.
The idea is having a way or app to translate de CC or PC message to the iOS command.
Is that possible?
