Hi,

It's time to replace my car battery after 10 years as I had couldn't start my car yesterday morning when the ambient temperature was 7°C.

Looking though the handbook it says it need a Q-85 spec battery but when I use the online search by reg tools, the battery results don't mention Q-85 anywhere. So, I'm just rather confused.

Also, some sites say 'This battery may need to be registered with the on-board computer system upon replacement', is this applicable for the Mazda, I can't find any reference in the handbook or online.

Hi, recently I’ve noticed that I’ve been topping up the screenwash fluid every couple of weeks, but it’s now got to the point where the fluid runs out on the same day. I can’t see any leaks underneath the car, and I can also hear the pump running when I pull the screenwash lever. Could it be a faulty pump or a cracked reservoir? Is this something I could repair myself?

Ive got a 2009 DE Tamura, Ive been thinking about the fog lights since i'd bought it, does anyone know or have a list of what i'd need? Afaik theres wiring already for use that mazda added, I know theyre fog lights but im hoping someone would know where I can find slightly warmer whites than that flashbang inducing cold blue or hospital white stuff.. or do they only come in one 'temperature'? Ive never had front fogs on any of my cars before, so im unsure where to begin..

My little Mazda two finally made it to 100,000 miles. She doesn’t take much to get her running, but she runs every time in the beginning. She had a small misfire due to a vacuum leak, but I figured it out. She has treated me well never left me stranded and I love her so much. I absolutely adore this car. It’s so fun to drive and easy to maintain. I hope to make it to another hundred thousand in this car thank you my little Mazda too for bringing me all this way.

We've got a new to us Mazda 2 sport in the family and it seems like the Speedo shows us the exact speed of the car, not a little above like most cars.

I've checked using my phone and my fiancees phone and both show the same speed as the Speedo.

Is this a known thing? Or could it be an aftermarket mod someone's done? We know the car has been pimped before (there's wiring for a sub and amp in the boot and the screws that hold the Aircon in behind the radio were missing)

I’ve been the engine mounts (3 pieces) need replacing. An independent garage has quoted me after market parts with warranty of 3 months. I’m in Thailand. Is it worth buying OEM or do after market parts typically last?

Hi all! I drive a 2011 Mazda 2 Tamura 1.3 petrol. A few months ago, got a new battery. However if the car is left for more than a day, the battery goes completely dead - so dead doors won't even unlock with central locking. This has happened now several times in the last few months.

A mechanic came and checked everything - the battery is fine, the alternator is fine, no problems, he was perplexed and thinks there is a parasitic drain somewhere, but he isn't specialised in car electrics so couldn't really investigate further for me.

The situation is at the moment, I have to drive my car every single day to keep it going - if a day passes and it's not driven, it starts slowly with a struggle the following day. If 2 day passes and it's not driven, it simply will not start. When I drive the car everyday, it starts no problem.

My question is could this be a parasitic drain? Has anyone had this before and what was the cause? Is this a common issue with Mazda 2 cars, and is there a common fix that I'm not aware of? Thank you!

I’m currently living in Brisbane since moving country and looking to buy my first car over here. I've found a marketplace listing for a 2011 Mazda 2 (automatic) with low mileage and only 2 owners.

The seller is moving back to Korea soon and wants a quick sale. They originally listed it at $7,300 but dropped it to $6,900 in the description. I think I can negotiate them down to $6,500 AUD.

It comes with a Queensland Roadworthy Certificate (RWC) valid until December, and registration is paid all the way up to January 2027.

The seller explicitly states that the air conditioning "runs but does not cool properly." They claim the previous owner estimated it's a $500 fix, but from what I've read online, if it's a dead compressor or a major leak, it could easily run me anywhere from $150 to $1,500+ to fix properly but not 100% sure as I'm not versed in cars.

What do you guys think?

Is $6,500 AUD a fair price for this model with very low km but non-functioning AC?

Should I walk away, or walk in with a mobile mechanic to an inspection/ pressure test the AC?

Anyone who has owned this gen Mazda 2 how common are AC failures, and what did it cost you to fix?

So, I have a 2014 Mazda 2, been a relatively good little commuter, but it definitely has some mold or bacteria and who knows what else, since it smells bad on recirculate.

I can't find anything online about how or where to access it to clean with a disinfectant spray. Any chance anyone here can point me in the right direction?

Hi everyone, I've fallen in love with this car years ago and I have to change my current 1.4HDi 208 because diesel isn't suited for my daily commute (and want something a bit better) and have been looking at this one.

I don't have much choice near me, it's just the 55kw/75hp versione but in Homura Trims.

Now, I rarely have passengers and my current car is a Turbo Diesel, should be little slower than the Mazda but the turbo gives me a bit more acceleration but sometimes I miss some proper push for overtakes, I don't like overtaking in general though so it's not a mandatory prerequisite.

My use case doesn't need much performance, but will this be a regret in the few occasions I need (or want) to drive more happily? My current car suffices at that, will this one too?

Im planning to replace the speakers on my 2019 DJ Sport Nav. I was thinking to got for a pair of Focal ASE 165 and tweeters in front. And for Focal ACX 165 for the rear.

For now I am unable to find the right brackets to mount them and also some LLM told me that the rear one might not fit and the magnet may hit the window when rolled down.

I have ordered already a Pioneer GM-DX104 amp to power them up. I will keep the OEM Nav Headunit.

Any of you guys upgraded and can share the hiccups along the way?

Has anyone changed the bulbs in the interior lights before? My partner's just picked up her new 2010 Mazda 2 sport and it's amazing, but the passenger side bulb has blown and I can't find any information online. What type of bulb would we need?

I've got a 2011 120k miles 1.3 (5 speed manual transmission) with no service history at all. I'm looking for ways to improve MPG outside of the more obvious stuff like tyre pressures and correct gearing. I'm getting 30.8mpg according to the computer. This is all city driving. Is there scope for a lot better?

I'm going to do the following:
1) maf sensor clean
2) throttle body clean
3) going to test the o2 sensor with a scan tool
4) changing spark plugs
6) maybe an oil and air filter change, the current oil does look fairly new though

I did the front pads and discs, greased everything so there shouldn't be any binding. As for the rears I adjusted them to the point the brake pedal engages well. Not sure if I adjusted too much though.

Anyone here have the same engine and can comment on fuel consumption? I don't know if 38-40mpg city driving is unrealistic for this engine.

My 2004 Astra is falling apart, so I was looking for a newer car and fell in love with this one. It's not brand new, but it is a 2021 model.

My 2015 Mazda 2 Neo DJ has recently been making a shuttering sound from the engine bay when either taking sharp turns and going up steep hills. This noise will happen both when: taking corners swiftly, and when accelerating out of the turn. The car has roughly 106 000kms and a full service history. Some days there is no noises and days where it is frequent. Any insight or diagnosis would be much appreciated thankyou

Does anyone know if the button below the cruise resume button could be speced from factory, if so, what was it used for?

Been looking to add factory cruise to my 2013 tamura since I do a lot of motorway driving and realised that I've never seen this button with anything on it.
