Title
"...yet, their strength, and their speed, are still based in a world that is built on rules..."
It goes without saying imo that by the end of the series nearly every rule has been broken by someone
I wish I knew more about what deletion entails, about the process of becoming an exile other than the Trainman smuggling them, but like, from where, to where
I am still a little bit confused on like, the tangible layout of the matrix/the machine world, especially insofar that like, deletion couldn't be like instantaneous and had to be done almost like an actual human execution, in person, for the sake of anything but appearances, which insinuates to me that to avoid some greater sentient program just fucking like, looking through the matrix for the exile's like IP or something and then just fucking right clicking and deleting (I know that's dumb I'm being hyperbolic but still) that they have to have some sort of autonomy and power to basically ignore the rules of the matrix and the rules of their own programming, which when those gates open like I'm always confused on exactly when and where and why they stop
Like there are certain programs who do things that are like specifically special and I get why not every exiled program with their chains cut off can do that, most obvious example being The Oracle, nothing about being freed from your purpose in the matrix should give you premonitions, but like, it seems like the average exile is barely different from your average person, thinking specifically of Persephone/Rama Kandra/Kamala/Sati, and I'm confused to exactly why, is it all learned and they just had no interest in like downloading the code to how to split atoms with their thoughts or what, like in actual concrete non woowoo terms what inherently distinguishes the capability of a Sati from a Seraph if they are all unbound
Forgive me if I'm forgetting something, haven't rewatched in probably like a year now
(Also like. I'm genuinely kinda mad that we got that shit ass fourth movie when we could have gotten the one fucking thing that the series could have used and would've been really great which is a movie entirely about programs/exiles and everything I'm discussing here)

I’m doing my yearly rewatch of the first three movies and it lead me down a YouTube rabbit hole where one of the creators was breaking down the timeline…and he casually mentioned that there was essentially only six months between the first movie and the end of the third movie.
It breaks my heart to think about the fact that they only had six months together before the end.
Maybe it’s just me? I’m a hopeless romantic.

I really enjoyed the first Matrix movie. The lobby shootout was a favorite scene.

I have the Ultimate Matrix on DVD and I’m finally looking to upgrade to Bluray but I’n frightened I’ll lose some bonus features. Are the features found on The Matrix Experience DVD also included on the Bluray release somewhere?

Humans made a conscious choice to reject a benevolent coexistence with the machines, Neo rectified that error by having no choice but to merge with smith and going back to the source. Smith was under the illusion that he was making his own choice and killing Neo. Deus Ex Machina has no choice in Neo emerging in each matrix.
The machines have no choice but to rely on humans as a source of power.
Did the humans have no choice but to reject that initial offer of benevolent coexistence?

This one took a while, so I hope to not be the only one enjoying it. There's also an Archidekt link HERE but you'll need to be logged into an Archidekt account to view the "custom" cards.

It has always confused me, why do the machines let Zion exist? Why not keep humans under stricter control? But I think I have a good explanation for it:
1. Zion is a the equivalent of a poison bait station for humanity.
Perhaps there are lots of smaller human groups in existence that the machines simply cannot find - same way humans can't exterminate all pests.
They want to manage this risk, so they created a big human settlement with the best technology and hovercrafts, so that most remaining humans will eventually find their way to it (or be rescued) and will die with it when it is next wiped.
If Zion didn't exist, the remaining survivors would be way more paranoid and would go into deeper hiding. Keeping Zion around also allows them to spy on the humans from within to learn about other groups and to keep an eye on their technological development.
2. Zion is the Svalbard seed vault.
Humans are vital to the machine civilization; so they allow a backup of it to exist, far away from the machine world in case there's ever a war or a problem there.
3. There are factions within the machine world who want humans destroyed completely - but this would create a huge crisis. To make sure the rogue machines can't ever do this, they let Zion exist far away and with some protection.
4. Letting the humans have a fortified settlement is a risk but the machines are doing it anyway for some internal political reason. Maybe keeping around humans as an example helps keep the peace amongst the machines and stops them turning against each other.

Trinity first meets Neo not in some rando industrial party (follow the white rabbit) ; but it's actually The Merovingian's club. MisterAndersan visits hell and doesn't even know it.

I was hoping to get some extra eyes and ears on the byproduct of my latest ASCII based endeavors, an audio reactive, XYZ axis based multidirectional matrix rain HTML.
I have a lot of spare time on my hands....
any feedback would be helpful, always looking for new or creative upgrade or optimizations opportunities, or just anything fun that could be visually appealing, like i was thinking of making a mouse pointer tracker in the system, so the rain drops are always converging on the mouse pointer where ever it is on the desktop.

I'am a big fan of the Matrix, So I built a Matrix-inspired homepage for my personal blog theme using Astro.
It has falling green code, terminal-style UI, and a new little details inspired by the movie.
Just a fun side project. Thought some of you here might enjoy it :)

And if you visit the About page and click the Oracle button on the right, there's a little Easter egg waiting for you. 👀

Whenever neo sees the green rain code the programs are constantly changing. A pattern remains but the code just keeps flowing. Humans on the other hand do have some physicality and continuity because, they have to hook their actual brains and bodies to the program.
My question is is it the same for programs. Is there someplace where the programs are stored physically, and we just see what the physical program tells the code to write?
