It's funny how we have a reputation for knife crime in the UK, especially among Americans, yet the US knife crime statistics are actually much higher than ours per capita lol.

They probably meant it in a way that England also destroys itself like US and Russia does, which would be true

One of my favorite anecdotes:
Two Russians met in the subway. One was reading a Western newspaper.
“Vasya, have you lost your mind? Why are you reading an anti-Russian newspaper?”
“I did read Russian newspapers, and what did I see? Corruption everywhere, poverty, repression, war, people leaving... But what do I see here? Russia elected Trump, Russia runs Europe, Russia controls gas, hackers, and bots, Russia rules the world. That’s much more pleasant to read.”
8
u/Electronic_Leek9147 1h ago
I mean it sure is a funny one, however one needs to admit that sabotage operations like funding a foreign political party or running bot servers costs much less than investing billions in new infrastructure for your country.

u/ClassicHistorian9013 4h ago
no chinese called me a colonizer and said that I should die even though I am east european and nobody in my family ever left my country, but americans constantly do it, no chinese caused my family financial distress like the 2008 financial crisis, americans did, no chinese started wars ever since I was born, americans did, no chinese caused the fuel shortage that is ruining my country, americans did, no chinese soldier was stationed in my country and killed/raped people, but americans did. The big bad was always america foe every person outside of it

2

To be honest, I think the idea of getting criminals who fled to foreign countries to be judged by the judicial system is pretty popular amongst most people.
6
u/okbuddyfourtwenty 2h ago
Hah "criminals" .... all they do is voice their opinions on the chinese government... its an infringement on human life if you ask me, and extremely disrespectfull how they open their own extra judicial police departments in france, where they have 0 right to operate

I said criminals purely on a legal sense. The problem most people have is with it being considered a crime, not with them being unable to run away

china bad is basically just because the image of what china was 30-40 years ago still stuck on people, and the billions of money spent to discredit China on media.
like every country, there are good and bad, but the bad of china always speaks louder because the negative emotions people are fed over the years.

The US has it's fair share of shit, specially under this admin, but let's not go pretending China is the Mr. Rogers of the global community, lmao.
8
u/thepronpage 4h ago
Except that your research was from 2024. The latest from 2026 shows China is seen more favourable than US.
7
u/No_Clue4405 4h ago
I would like to add that a lot of the countries in this list receive a lot of Chinese funding. For example, the top of the list is Pakistan, a country which relies on Chinese cash to function. Meanwhile, if we look at the Philippines, the Philippines hates China because they have been actively fighting their Navy across the year. Not to mention the Japanese Chinese arms race, China funding the Russian war in Ukraine, etc
3
u/thepronpage 4h ago
I would also add that lots of countries who views US favourably has received lots of US funding too, or have their foreign policy dominated by the US. Take Ferdinand Marcos Jr in Phillipines, for example, whose family stole so much wealth from the Filipinos, shielded and protected by the US, and is now back in Phillipines raiding the second round. Many countries basically have their foreign and domestic policies dominated by the US, like UK, Aus, SK and Jp. Also like to note that, China is Ukraine's largest single trade partner.
2
u/ExpansivePoint 4h ago
From that article
More also have confidence in Xi than Trump
Lol no shit, that's more a testament of how atrocious Trump is than China suddenly not being the antagonistic country it's been for decades.
Business is business and right now the US is being led by a casino bankrupting "businessman" talking about invading other countries, kind of like China does. We get to go back to the sane country we were, China has been off their nut for decades.

Your Data is Old.
Almost no Country is as Anti-China as the US. It's basically taught at US schools that China=Bad. Every US American thinks China=Bad.
In Developed Countrys like Germany we are more Neutral to China, we don't like some actions China does, but every country has it's flaws and China is by far not the most hated one.
Infact the US is way more hated then China, the US is almost at the same level of hate as North Corea is.

China has a bunch of big problems, that is true and most western country’s would get crushed by them.
However, china has something that the western country’s don’t have and that is centralised power with no legal frame to hit the brakes.
This makes it possible for them to easily and most importantly swiftly offset any problem they could face. They can also use it for long term planning, which will always come out on top compared to short term deals focused on election cycles like in the west.
So they traded freedom of individuals for stability of the country. Both sides have flaws and the outcome is tied to the competence of the people in power, which is one person in china and the electorate in the west.
The main problem china has, was tying itself to the western market, which now slowly pulls them down under with them. The other problems are internally and can just be fixed through some sort of oppressive power move.
So who is the bigger fool? The people voting for their own destruction or the person betting on the self destructive people?
14
u/SuspiciousNewAccount 8h ago
Centralization of power is much more likely to be their downfall. Their president for life has seen to it that there's no one fit to replace him.
3
u/Bonitlan If I see another repost I will shoot this puppy 6h ago
Yeah, with centralization you are always betting it all on a single point of failure. Yes with China it may be that this single point of failure is very sophisticated in design, but everything breaks eventually
4
u/Highsky151 5h ago
China and its people demand a centralised government. "The country, long divided, must unite" is the most famous quote from their most popular book. China is also the most successful country with centralised government, so it is not wonder they stick to it
2
u/LeMe-Two 1h ago
> The country, long divided, must unite
The country long united must divide, long divided must unite, thus has always been
This is the full quote and it refers to the cycle of China breaking apart and reuniting :v
13
u/Hoptlite 8h ago
China's other weakness is its economy which is basically the most cut throat version of capitalism in existence, its how their housing market collapsed, alot of excess and then XI decided to slam in the breaks and the entire thing imploded like lightning with no controls. Their health system is also barely holding because they dont belive in taxation which we saw in covid where their hospitals collapsed and the had to remain locked down for longer than anywhere else otherwise they'd get another epidemic

Lowkey all the biggest regions kinda fumbled the bag for this arc ngl. China on the demographic cliff, USA decided to elect the dumbest mfs possible, Europe lowkey going economically nowhere, Russia just kinda in general. I don't think these problems are as bad for some as for others. Russia for instance is by the far the most cooked, they have no close allies, a completely dysfunctional economy, and a shrinking population- whereas the USA can just decide to elect competent people again and recover some of what it's lost and Europe is wealthy enough and has a high enough quality of life to take some punches and still stand tall. China is the big unknown- their economy could persist with automation and scaled up factory work while potentially beginning to dominate the US in capital-intensive manufacturing despite a fast shrinking population. They could also just not be able to handle losing that many people so quickly- or it could even benefit people since as they lose jobs they lose people faster and all of a sudden a lack of workers rights stays fine. They could come out stronger or vastly weaker- we don't know

Yeah, I don't think the US can recover that easily. It's going to be a huge amount of work to regain trust from other countries. They really taught everyone what happens when your economy depends largely on trading with this one other country and those governments learnt to diversify. Namely Canada, their historically closest ally, has the probably the worst view of the US out of them all, in all senses, specially since the US continues to hint that they'll conquer them and renaming things on the most stupid things in the map.

Europe is economically stangnent and unproductive other than the Scandinavian countries plus Switzerland and the Netherlands. The biggest economies of France, Germany, UK (fuck you UK, you are European whether you like it or not), are economically stangnent.
The US is politically disfunctional but it is still strong in all the right ways (economy, military). If Americans would take their heads out if their asses and get rid of that idiotic fat pedophile running their country they would basically have no problems (at a high level).

I’m not a big fan of China but I’ve been told by capitalists that competition in the free market is good.
Why not compete with the Chinese as equals, rather than them remain an export base for all our manufacturing?
It seems like America only deems a nation friendly if I has or can turn its government and culture into a factory of its own production. Hence Venezuela overnight becomes an ally once its pesky leader is removed and the new leader sends free oil over.
