Does anyone have any advice for him he and I are both proud of it he is currently making a new one

Excellent! I think at this age just let him find his creative voice before trying to throw too many rules on top of it. Let the passion bud for now!

Also, you can ask him what kind of stuff he likes in maps and try to seek out different map stuff for him to interact with. That's a big one, too.
