I'm praying that the manhwa will change the novel ending. The fmc is more bland than the MC personality

Change the ending ? This arc was suppose to be Aiseline arc but they changed it and gave Denise the spot light spoiler alerts

  • Denise literally stole Aiseline spotlight in The Dulphian arc where she was supposed to be the main highlight
  • Aiseline was the one who was supposed to get saved by Derrick and later on team up with him to fight against the elder brother in the final battle of this arc
  • But Denise's interference basically changed the entire story
  • Aiseline got saved by Ellente instead of Derrick and Denise teamed up with Derrick to take on the Eldest brother who is the final boss of this arc

This manhwa really is the perfect example of "authors preference" vs "Artist's preference". People were posting about in this sub a couple months ago theorizing that the manhwa was going to make Denise the female lead instead because of how much they were clearly favoring her with the art up to thay point.

Its a shame neither of them seems to be listening to "Audience preference" which even for the novel readers was always Ellente lol

u/Fit-Secretary-2330 1d ago

Ellente is that one red hair that never wins (i also like her more)

8

u/Enkenz 22h ago

by audience you mean actual audience or freeloader ?

10

u/StarGaurdianBard 20h ago

The actual Korean novel audience

12

u/metabreaker 21h ago

W take. Our opinions are as valid as any other, but the authors and editors are always more likely to be swayed by their local audience. I admittedly don't know what the local audience wants, but if it's anything like the manga and light novels I do actually spend money on, the local audience is actually insane.

1

u/Blue_Reaper99 13h ago

Art and stories shouldn't be based on "audience preference".

u/mountn_cat 1d ago

I hope they make it anyone but Aiseline. Heck I'd even be happy with a harem as long as that bland saltine cracker of a woman doesn't get any.

😂😂😂

Then they suit each other. Still kinda funny how the author basically just wrote the same 2 boring bland MCs yet the Extra Survival one is insanely glazed while this one is called out like that rizz vs sexual harassment meme. I might even get downvoted for calling out Extra Survival MC.

Noble ladies' MC has no principle other than being a magic nerd though, that he doesn't see anything else worth his time.. whereas EASG's MC had valid reasons for his stunted mentality (he even openly admitted it), and he actually acknowledges that one of the main girls has feelings for him, and set a boundary as early as chapter 20.

Compare that to Derrick who flat out asked Aiseline if she had any feelings for him, when Denise or some other character told him for being ignorant, Novel content for now, but will be adapted soon.

-10

u/-FruitPunchSamurai- 19h ago

Still bland and boring. That's why despite people trash talking I Killed and Academy Player so much and often think of it as inferior to EASG I'd pick that MC over EASG's every time at least that one feels like an actual person he still knows how to have fun and show different emotions and mood like an actual human being.

7

u/No-Layer7945 17h ago edited 17h ago

Yeah let's have our MC being some mid 30's guy, retired PTSD militant, and get him act like some goof, we have to have foooon guys foon. that's how you sound like tbh.

You didn't understand his character, then resorted to Preference.

Funny thing is that, I Killed the academy player's MC was supposed to be some chad back at his home planet earth, but is like a pre-pubescent teen in the world he currently lives in, even he had intimacy before regression, yet still acts like the densest being ever, when his harem practically orbits him 24/7, i rest my case dude.

0

u/Jaskand 4h ago

You're absolutely right but nobody here will listen to you.

0

u/cranchian 23h ago

Funnily this one is non harem ending while extra's survival is harem

2

u/Fit-Secretary-2330 22h ago

EASD has not ended yet its side stories are ongoing

2

u/AnimeBas 22h ago

But main story has ended.

1

u/Fit-Secretary-2330 21h ago

In novels as long as there is a side story especially if it is a direct continuation of the main story that means its ongoing and the entire romance thing is more focused in side stories compared to the main story

-2

u/AnimeBas 20h ago

We are talking about manhwas here, not novels, and in manhwas all side stories give is usually romance scenes with no actual plot (there are few exceptions) so i wouldnt say its ongoing if only side stories are left

1

u/Fit-Secretary-2330 20h ago

That's the problem EASD is one of those exceptions where side stories are important

0

u/-FruitPunchSamurai- 17h ago

Not a fan of this MC but gotta respect that tho.

1

u/Thevsamovies 9h ago

What's the novel ending?

26

u/rimurutempesto 1d ago

i like the red haired girl

24

u/LianCorrinthian 1d ago

Ellente is the best girl, characterwise. This is the kind of strong female characters I like. A character, who is strong, just happened to be female.

11

u/rimurutempesto 1d ago

hard agree, she is the prettiest/best personality out of all the girls. I hope the she wins in the end

21

u/Not_obviously 1d ago

We can see who artist likes most by how much they show feet.

17

u/KrypticAeon 1d ago

I'd be alright with anyone other than Aiseline. Denise is the most fun to read though for sure.

9

u/cranchian 1d ago

What the hell, they changed the story from novel? Is this during the sirine arc?

5

u/Fit-Secretary-2330 1d ago

yup

  • Denise literally stole Aiseline spotlight in The Dulphian arc where she was supposed to be the main highlight
  • Aiseline was the one who was supposed to get saved by Derrick and later on team up with him to fight against the elder brother in the final battle of this arc
  • But Denise's interference basically changed the entire story
  • Aiseline got saved by Ellente instead of Derrick and Denise teamed up with Derrick to take on the Eldest brother who is the final boss of this arc

7

u/LianCorrinthian 1d ago

I think the manhwa is going on a different route than the novel version

12

u/shoemilk 1d ago

I mean, with Denise, we get her maid as well, so I'm not fking complaining

3

u/nagihasekawa 1d ago

Is this kind of thing commonly happened?

First time I see adaptation veer off course from source material, usually there is difference here and there but mainly minor

10

u/EitherSpite4545 23h ago

Dungeon Odyssey has been off in left field from its source for a while now and it's a case where it was absolutely the right decision and made the story vastly superior in just about every way.

3

u/motoxim 23h ago

I remember people saying A returner magic should be special kinda biased towards the real love interest?

4

u/RewZes 22h ago

Yeah afaik în the novel the Ice girl was a clear winner but in the manghwa the author was pushing Romantica which would've been fine if he stuck with it but afaik in the end it's ends with no one and it's ambiguous. Which is ehh, dissapointing to say the least.

1

u/motoxim 20h ago

Yeah I read it halfway and it's very obvious the manhwa loves Romantica.

1

u/Geraldinho-- 7h ago

Yea it ended as an open ended part of the story where it was not revealed. You could tell the author chickened out.

2

u/Accomplished-Size587 S-Rank Reader 15h ago

Exact situation as bleach, the anime studio pushed chemistry more with rukia than with Orihime. Where it was clear in the manga.

5

u/Fit-Secretary-2330 1d ago

The closest thing to this we got previously was probably the Returner Mage should be special

But unlike this series artist he was not skilled enough to change the plot and messed up the ending

1

u/Justbandr 13h ago

The demon king overtures the table adaptation is more like a new series compared to the novel

3

u/heretical_blackrose 23h ago

Does mc actually have a personality now guys

3

u/RewZes 22h ago

No, not really, might change in the future but for now he's pretty bland.

1

u/Gloomy_Honeydew 23h ago

Fuck was she even doing there though tbh. Dude goes "you can't break my shield as a 3 star", which mc agrees with, and then Denise (3 star at best) pops up and breaks it anyways?

2

u/Fit-Secretary-2330 22h ago

Well that's because Denise is a tracker type mage who can see weaknesses within defense unlike Derrick

Which is funny because in the novel this fight was like dragged like around 2-3 chapters and 2 of those chapters were just derrick trying to figure out the weakness of the Elder Brother defense and here denise managed broke through it in like 2 panels lol

2

u/RewZes 22h ago

Making the Mc think in the story? Unheard off, gotta hand the win on a silver player, god forbid the audience gets bored or worse have to think.

5

u/Fit-Secretary-2330 21h ago edited 21h ago

Derrick actually needs to prepare and think through a lot before fighting someone since most of the bosses are way above his weight class

This arc was meant to be like that but Denise supported him so it ended quickly

But I am waiting for the confusion arc though not only its one of the best arcs within this series but I could also see the artist surely using that arc to push forward Denise ship again and its definitely gonna be his favorite arc since its the only arc where he has a possibility to throw Aiseline off rails completely from the story

1

u/Thebyst 17h ago

En la novela, creo que quedaba con la hermana mayor de la rubia , ojalá lo cambien.

1

u/RanQal 16h ago

Is the story good? I dropped ts at chap 22 or so because the MC doesn't have anything that can be said about him other than that he looks pissed 24/7 and study magic (Idk if he even likes magic).

1

u/Necrowarp 11h ago edited 11h ago

Honestly I like that they changed this fight, I found this fight to be particularly drawn out and overwritten in the novel, I think having all the girls pitch in to speed it up, and using Denise's abilities to clean up what otherwise was Derrick fumbling about for like 2 chapters really helped clean up the pacing of an otherwise drawn out fight. The relationship between Derrick and Aiseline growing is in the future anyways, it's not this arc, this arc is just the prelude to what helps Derrick and Aiseline begin to form a bond.

-3

u/nottkumadrop 19h ago

Okaaaay calm down. Denise did not steal the spotlight of this arc. Just because of one panel you immediately say this. I know you read the novel. I did to. So I know the changes they did here.

There is only one thing I agree with what you said. The manhwa arc changed how events happened.

Denise did not steal the spotlight. If you want to be precise you should have said all the other girls stole the spotlight from Aiselin in this arc. Just because they actually weren't supposed to be in the fight. It was only a Aiselin + Derrick fight.

It's not even a major arc for Aiselin herself. In fact her actual arc hasn't even started. It's later when she does what all novel readers know and it goes all throughout the story. This is a minor arc for Aiselin and Diella and their family. That's it. It's the prologue for the major arc for Aiselin.

I am on the side that this change was actually good. It made the other girls matter in the story. You understand what I mean.

1

u/Fit-Secretary-2330 15h ago

Are you serious when the eldest son goes into a rampage state and then he summoned a giant golem that destroyed one of the buildings where Aiseline was standing on with Derrick during the battle and when the debris and glasses of the building collapsed onto them Aiseline was going to get crushed under them and since it happened too fast both of them could not cast any magic spell on time so Derrick used his own body as a shield to protect her obviously since Derrick body is physically stronger he could endure the debris falling onto him but along with the debris the glass shards from the broken windows pierced through his back and he was basically drenched in blood at that point Aiseline saw how Derrick used his own body to protect her so that she won't suffer any fatal injuries Derrick also encouraged her to fight back against her brother for the sake of her remaining family and Dulphian house because after the eldest brother and the second brother she is the one who is responsible for the Dulphian family and it's fate this is also one of the key events where she could not only properly fight back against her brother together with Derrick but this is also the initiative event that made her develop feelings for him this is how things was supposed to go based on the novel…

u/nottkumadrop 15h ago

Did you even read what I said. I said I agree with you on how the manhwa changed how the events happened. I did not even disagree with you there and I don't understand how you had to type the whole synopsis for that arc just for that.

All I said was this was not a major arc for Aiselin. It is a minor arc for her but because it the prelude to her actual major arc moving forward.

Goddamn I just repeated what I typed hours ago. Read the whole 10 chapters of the fight again. Aiselin only woke up on the 8th chapter of the arc in the mansion and had to be talked to by Ellen. Afterwards you are correct that Derrick protected her. But both of them were too concentrated on the fight to even have any of the origin of the ship you are so desperate to pine the arc on. Aiselin basically DID NOTHING in this arc but scream "Brother! Brother!" And that was 1/2 of the chapter before Diella came in and killed him.

You are exaggerating so hard about the origin of the ship. That's all I am calling out. Your actual exaggeration. Not once did I say you are wrong.

Well yeah I did call one out. That Denise stole the spotlight. Why would it be her when it's actually Dellia?

When I said " It's later when she does what all novel readers know and it goes all throughout the story." I meant 2 chapters after this arc. You can go check it again if you want.

Your exaggeration makes no sense considering most likely the next manhwa chapter is where it starts for Aiselin anyway.

Like I keep on harping. It is not a major arc for Aiselin. It's a prologue for the major arc for her.

1

u/Fit-Secretary-2330 14h ago

Why are my comments not appearing

And no you are literally wrong burhh they skipped the Origin Event so now they can easily change Aiseline viewpoint towards Derrick as just a Friend rather than as a Lover it should be obvious

1

u/nottkumadrop 14h ago

Oh god you are literally talking about the next few chapterse after this arc.

I am done because it's obvious you are being too pointed on something that isn't even majorly there YET.

If this manhwa chapter included the the next few chapters of the manhwa hell I would agree with you wholeheartedly. I would even talk shit about what happened. But no. You are projecting something that isn't there yet. I don't know if the manhwa author will include it. You don't know yet because it's not out yet.

You are making something up for no reason, YET.

1

u/Necrowarp 11h ago

Yeah I agree, also read the novel. I think this change was good. It was an easier way for them to speed up the pacing of the fight, and they didn't even have Denise take the spotlight, it went from a Derrick + Aiseline fight, to Derrick + all the girls fight. I thought the fight was honestly quite boring and drawn out when I read this part of the novel, so I'm glad they changed it.

Changing this part of it doesn't change much, if they change anything in the next 1-2 arcs however, then there might be some discrepancies. I think overall though, this was a nice story writing change to clean up the pacing of the arc.
