Looks like both Kyuragi sisters have game and play it. They also seem to have the same taste in men because Keita looks an awful lot like Azuma.

Compared to her sister’s assertiveness, she seems a bit more oblivious, which is quite powerful in its own right.
Not sure if it’s just me but the wording feels a bit weird in this chapter.

The fact that I can still feel that sugary sweet cuteness from a completely unrelated couple really goes to show how well this author can capture that natural feeling of closeness between two people.
Also shout out once again to the MC for taking the initiative and calling her first just to talk the night away.

You know, normally I'd be annoyed by a chapter that diverts us away from the main couple, but I'm gonna allow it this time.
As an aside, chapters like this give me deep nostalgia for something I've never experienced, which is odd. Is there a word for that? I've literally never rode a bicycle through the Japanese countryside at night to get some ice cream from the convenience store, but this triggeres intense nostalgia anyway. Maybe I've just been watching anime and reading manga for too long.

Anemoia is the concept you may be thinking of, and yeah it's foundational for quite a few different genres and concepts including Vaporwave (which is in part about the world pre-9/11 which folk who grew up after have been denied, and thus became curious about).

If anyone has never looked thru The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows, from which this term emerged, you should do yourself the favor. It's a wonderful bit of playful linguistics.

Yep, just been down a bit of a google-hole on this topic and came across the same term. I get heavy anemoia from certain 1950's/60's aesthetics, which as an 80's kid is probably my equivalent of how vaporwave affects post-9/11 kids.
As it happens, I got really into the whole vaporwave thing a few years ago, and what's interesting as someone who was around in the 90's is that the feeling it get from it is still more akin to anemoia than to pure nostalgia. I think it's maybe because while vaporwave is built using symbology of things that I directly experienced, it's used to build a vision of a past that never actually existed. It's like looking at a picture of the 90's painted by someone who never lived through the 90's.
To bring this back round to something a bit more on-topic for this sub, Kowloon Generic Romance and .A -dot Alice- also both completely nail this feeling, which is probably why I love them so much.

Yeah, this is why I picked that particular example since I do think it is important how there's this awareness of how it's not nostalgia for a real thing even if it remains a longing. All remembrance is ultimately faulty, as well are all limited in our recollections. It's why I'm not particularly interested in the various movements which seek to solely romanticise the past. That however doesn't mean we do not still possess a sense of longing, and how we grapple with that is fascinating to me.

Side ship! Side ship! Didn’t expect it, but the title can work for multiple couples too.

Lil sis is much more assertive than her big sister. Yet she herself doesn't notice it. Walking back home together slowly. Young boy, you're a genius and absolutely brave for voicing that suggestion.

Again, the author's focus on small physical action (thigh on back, hands) is master class.

They were talking on the phone the whole time. I can't help but wonder what they talked about.

Like... How does the author do this? I just get a goofy smile and enjoy it. I don't think any other manga has made me feel this was so consistently as this one.

I see it runs in the family
