180cm is closer to 5'11, and 180cm is very tall for a girl even in the US.

It's 99.87 percentile. Only 1 in 750 women are that tall.

Then you're out of touch.

Average female height:

USA: 162cm

UK: 162cm

Japan: 158cm

Globally, only about 0.2% of women are 6' or taller. So 5' 11" is tall for a woman.

Because both the imperial system and metric system are fundamentally completely arbitrary, and not in the same way as each other.

But the metric system scales much more sensibly.

because 1 cm is 0.3937… inches (1/2.54)
so 180cm ≈ 70,866 inches

while 6ft = 72 inches
