MMX airport is worse than a third-world-country airport
I've now used Malmö Airport twice, and both times I've been surprised by how outdated and badly organized the security experience is.
I've flown through airports all over Europe, and I've honestly never had this kind of issue anywhere else.
I come from Skopje, North Macedonia. Call it developing, third world, whatever you want — I would still expect an airport in Sweden to be significantly more modern. Instead, Skopje Airport feels better organized and more passenger-friendly than MMX.
At Malmö they still use the older type of security scanner, so you have to remove laptops, electronics and liquids from your bags. Fine. But there isn't even a proper automated conveyor/tray system at the loading point. If you need several trays for your backpack, laptop, jacket and liquids, you have to manually push the whole line of trays and bags forward yourself until they reach the scanner.
Then there is the enforcement of the liquid rules.
First trip: I was stopped because my transparent liquids bag was apparently slightly too large.
Second trip: I had a reusable bottle that was practically empty. There was literally one tiny sip of water left in it — something I could have drunk in about one second. Instead of simply telling me to drink it and continue, they stopped me over it and the bottle ended up being taken away.
The best part came afterwards.
An airport employee approached me and asked if I wanted to fill out a feedback form about the airport services. I said yes. He gave me a QR code, I scanned it... and the link didn't work.
I checked my internet connection by opening other websites. Everything else worked. The airport's own feedback link didn't.
So even the form for telling MMX about the airport experience apparently didn't work.
Is MMX generally known for being this bad, or have I just been unlucky twice?
