Discussion Anyone Looking To Make Something?

I've been a producer for a long time and worked with some incredible people. My most notable work is that I'm the producer behind 7th 7amurai, a classic hip hop duo that I did all the beats, mixing and mastering for and some people might actually know me for that. It's been a while since I've done anything with anyone and so I wanted to reach out and see if anyone wants to collaborate? I'd be down for group work like BROCKHAMPTON or WHATMORE. I'm interested in people that want to experiment and make something weird and cool and fresh and strange. I play guitar and bass and keys, I make all my own beats and do all my own mixing. If you're weird and like Shabazz Palaces, Armand Hammer and Company Flow but also newer more modern and fresh stuff like what I mentioned earlier reach out. I'd love to just talk to people, collaborate and just create. Even if you just wanna talk shop and trade ideas I'd love that. Open to anyone and of any level so don't be shy and please reach out!

Resource/Guide Need a Producer to Grow

I'm a beginner rapper, I can write but have zero music knowledge and need a Producer not to make songs but to understand the mixing of vocals and the music theory, we can both grow and furnish our skills. I'm 23M from Jaipur open for brainstorming ideas and creating art so that we can fill the gap we all have in ourselves.

Music [Album Constant E.F. ALGOS] (Looking for feedback, collabs and more)

Yo, what's good r/makinghiphop

I've been working on this project for a while and finally dropped it about a week ago. It's called ALGOS, named after the Greek word for pain or suffering.

12 track boom bap concept album, mythology influenced, personal as hell.

Just want to be upfront, tho. This is a rough cut. The mixing and mastering isn't final. Eventually, I'm gonna polish it up properly and put it on Spotify and all the streaming platforms. But I wanted real ears on it before I get to that stage.

Would love genuine feedback and maybe the best tracks

Also, I'm from Fresno, CA, and I'm really trying to connect with other artists. Whether it's feedback, collabs, features, or just building a connection, I'm open to all of it. I make boom bap, but I'm versatile, and I'm always looking to grow.

Here's the YouTube link: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLf2qUxuetyis&si=G6m_D13rlPMBP4Hp

Appreciate anyone who takes the time to listen, much love always. Reach out, and I'll definitely respond

Opportunity looking for creative partner

I'm looking for someone, or even multiple people, who would be interested in helping me create an album.I already have the concept, title, and song names figured out. I have a lot of sounds and ideas in my head, but I'm looking for producers who can help me actually bring them to life. I'm also looking for other artists who might want to be featured on the album.I'm mainly interested in building genuine connections with people who love making music. I want this to be something we can all be proud of. If you're interested in working together, please reply or DM me and lmk!

The sound I'm mainly going for is  experimental, atmospheric hip-hop sound with elements of orchestral music, ambient textures, and trap. Also sampling is great as well.

Here's some of my work as well https://open.spotify.com/album/6xtxfYN2xfZzPQAcJFkQJS?si=LM5hysPFSjOmsNPONtinPQ

Opportunity Anybody wanna exchange beats with me?

I dunno man, when I show my beats to my friends they give empty feedback and I feel that if I shared my music or traded feedback with some more expirienced than me (This is only my first year producing) so that I can learn about my main mistakes it would be very nice. Preferably on Discord.

Question How exactly do I seamlessly rap/switch flows over instrumental phrase/loop resets?

Okay so, I'm rapping, but what I've come to find out, is my raps sound much more smooth, and way less abrupt when I seem to figure out where to switch up my flow patterns

I think it has something to do with how the beat loops back around /phrase completes, once I find out how to smoothly transition after the phrase completes, I basically got the whole thing down and can transition my flow seamlessly

But what confuses me, is sometimes I think a phrase is complete, when it's not. And then I keep rapping and then it sounds like I hit an invisible wall again, that's the best way I can describe it, like the flow is in rhythm with the beat, but it feels like it's abrupt and it isn't supposed to be there. That's the best way I can describe it. It's like a "ew that didn't sound right for some reason" feel

Like is their any tips on exactly how I can rap according to how the phrases loop around/resolve? That part confuses me the most and I don't really see anyone really speaking on it

Question Do people listen to instrumentals live?

I want to get into live performing one day. I make hip hop, ambient, down tempo , and breakbeat/jungle. But they don’t have any lyrics and I don’t really fit into the edm scene or the live hip hop scene. What should I do?

Question Any who just uses a few VSTs and no Samples?

I took a while off producing. I want to get back into it again, but mainly fucking around on my new laptop on headphones. I have a desktop with a Novation Launchkey 49, mic, studio monitor, decently powerful PC and WAYYYY too many plugins and samples.

Last few times I tried to get back into it I was so overwhelmed, I used to know all the packs and sounds. I honestly want to avoid samples, and I would love to not even have a ton of VSTs. Like I'm debating just installing addictive drums 2 and Pigments on my laptop or something. Maybe some kind of plugin to change sounds easily like Retro Color or Trash or something.

Id keep plugins for mixing and mastering on my desktop. But I can't even look at my desktops Ableton. Its from when I was VERY into beatmaking years ago and I don't feel like figuring all that out again lol.

Anyone function like I'm explaining? Can you link your page if so?

Resource/Guide General art form question

I'm a lyricist who gets his beats off you tube. Sometimes I go in the studio and the song exceeds my expectations. Recently though a song did not sound the way I imagined, but I believe it is the mixing. Any advice for how much dough or energy to spend on making a song come to life when it could be or could not be the mixes fault. I guess I'm starting to realize the mix and beat are the most important part of rap song. The rapper is just the annoying lead singer lol. Like is mixing so nuanced that rappers will have to get different mixing engineers to be able to bring different songs he raps to come to life? Like do you have to find a mixing engineer who sees your vision for certain trickier kind of beats? Like beats where the voice doesn't meld as well for whatever reason? Thanks

Kit/Sound Bank Dark Piano Bank's

Do you know of any free dark piano banks for Analog Lab that would work well for ATL trap-style beats? Or maybe some free presets for Zenology or even another free plugin. Analog Lab is my first priority

Opportunity looking for an artist or producer friend/partner to work together 🫶

i have been producing for probably about 10 years now and i got thousands of beats that are finished. my main thing right now honestly is just making type beats and I'm slowly growing a following, but i might venture into other stuff in the future too. I was of thinking of uploading my beats and tracks to DSP platforms like spotify too.

the music i listen to and get inspired from is usually the underground trap scene like Playboi carti ken and lone(i know he's not really underground), slayr, nettspend, osamason.

music is r3ally my passion and i want to make more friends that would be really nice. we can lock in on stuff!! if you're interested u can drop a link to your music and socials here if u have any and i will hit u up. I consider my stuff to be really "high class" but i was basically spending 8 years of my journey just focusing on the music itself, i only started 2 years ago to try and make connections in the industry so I'm still trying to find my place here.

have a good one yall

*estribillo*

verso 2

The hiphop saved me, when my life was so critic.

Esas mierdas no valen nada, rata.

"I never sleep, cause sleep is the cousin of death."

Y los rappers estupidos dont fuck with b day.

estribillo

outro

¡careteos baratos egocentrismos caros!

Opportunity [OPPORTUNITY] Looking for MCs for a Boom-Bap / Experimental Hip-Hop Mixtape

Yo! I’m putting together my first mixtape and looking for MCs who want to make actual hip-hop, particularly boom-bap, lyrical underground hip-hop, and more experimental or alternative stuff.
Some of my inspirations include MF DOOM, Nas, Kendrick Lamar, Tyler, the Creator, early Kanye West, and Kid Cudi.
The production blends dusty boom-bap drums, live guitar and bass, psychedelic melodies, atmosphere, and occasionally heavier or more experimental sounds. Think classic hip-hop foundations with room to get creative.
Who I’m looking for:
-MCs with strong flows, distinct voices, and personality.
-Lyricists who can tell stories, paint pictures, or bring clever wordplay.
-Artists comfortable over boom-bap and sample-based production.
-People willing to experiment a little. You don’t have to be a traditional backpack rapper; a little Tyler-style weirdness, humor, character, or unpredictability is welcome.
-Artists who genuinely want to collaborate and make something good, rather than just exchange links.
Not really looking for trap artists or people whose entire style revolves around modern trap flows and 808-heavy production. This project is centered on MCing and hip-hop, though the beats will have some alternative influences.
I’m open to different voices and approaches as long as they fit the music. Follower count doesn’t matter to me nearly as much as the actual artistry.
If you’re interested, drop a SoundCloud, YouTube, or other link to your music in the comments, preferably a song that best represents your writing and delivery.

Tell me a little about your style, too.
Let’s make something real. No need to be established just bring your own identity and be serious about the craft.
