The emergency room accused me of "pain-seeking behavior". Which, yes, I was in horrible pain! Took a specialist to find this giant spiked bastard in the third most common place for kidney stones.

I started this post because i couldn’t put a picture with my comment on someone else’s post.

This was my first kidney stone. It happened to me on November 12th, 2009. I had no symptoms prior to that day but on the morning my urine looked like iced tea. Reddish brown. Went to work, happened to take the subway that day to Manhattan instead of driving. At work the pain starts. Felt like my testicles were twisted or being squashed. I pee red again and now I’m scared. Then the pain becomes so bad I vomited. I worked for the NYC ME office in pathology so I was surrounded by doctors. I’m telling them I think it’s my appendix because of the location of where the pain is radiating from and the vomiting, sweating, etc..
However they said it sounds like a kidney stone or kidney infection . They call an ambulance and I get taken to Bellevue hospital by request. At this point I’m now begging to be taken out of my misery with a bullet lol The EMTs tell me I’ll get pain meds at the hospital. We get there and the ER people tell me they have to draw blood first to make sure I’m not there just to score narcotics. Everything comes back clean and they immediately start an IV and give me morphine which puts me in the most relaxed, pain free state I have ever been in. I even said to the nurse that now I understand how people get addicted to heroin.
They set me up with a CT scan with contrast. Boom, it’s a 3mm kidney stone in my right ureter making its way down and being a scumbag. Not only that, my urine was backed up on that side and caused me to get nephritis (swollen kidney). They give me medicine called “Flowmax” to expand & relax the ureters, vessels, and urethra. They give me a pitcher to pee in with a screen. I’m there almost all day and nothing happens. My wife shows up and they sent me home with a screen, Percocet, and flowmax. I passed it about 6 days later.

Still have another twelve hour shift to do on my feet, too. XD

As i was just about finished with my bowl of oatmeal and after consuming numerous of them, i finally looked closer att what i thought were oat husks floating on the top of my milk and found then to be a rather unfortunate alternative.... larvae...

Apparently known as mealworms and supposedly harmless. But nasty nonetheless🤮

found this in the bathroom at work today .. we’re an auto shop. i had to clean it up. the toilet next to it works perfectly fine, why??

I ate 10 to 15 pieces of pineapple and it tore my tongue apart. This has never been this bad and its a warning to everyone else to please be careful with it. Oragel doesn't touch the pain I feel. Do stop when you feel it eating you too.

Edit: so sorry, but i have to get some rest soon, but u/neonchasms, along with other, said it that it may be geographic tongue. I dont fully know what that is yet (its late for me, up in up in 6), but several agree with them, and state it could be more visibly inflamed from eating acidic foods.

Edit 2: the amount of people saying they thought it was a dogs mouth are making me laugh my absolute ass off! I think its time I trimmed by whiskers...

Only added the injury flair as it is technically bodily harm. Got a vaccination this past friday, took this today after an ER visit and a perscription of medicinal steroids.

Poor kitty got scared. Scrubbed with chlorhex scrub and put some triple antibiotic on it. Got two little holes in my hands now.

Got the special soap and Benadryl keeps me from wanting to scratch my skin off

I've been drinking tea out of this for like thirty minutes (very tall cup). Had a weird feeling that whatever was in my mouth wasn't just food getting unstuck from my teeth and... Ugh.

Chocolate milk residue maybe? Idk. I'm horrified. I poured out the rest but... I'm sure I'm gonna be sick
